Pau, alongside Melo, Dirk were some of the biggest snubs here. If it was me, I'd replace Ellis, Davis and maybe Jefferson with them

Im not happy with the forwards or most of the bench compared to what the West has...but we'll see what happens in the game

Behind Curry, Class of 2010 Makes it 2-0 in Rookie Challenge



Los Angeles, CA - After completing the upset victory over the sophomore team last season, the rookie class of 2010, who are sophomores themselves this season, wasn't about to get beaten by their young challengers.

Even with a bunch of guys not playing.

Omri Casspi, Taj Gibson, Jonny Flynn and most importantly, last year's rookie challenge MVP Tyreke Evans did not participate in this year's game for the sophomores due to various reasons, mostly thanks to injury concerns. But that didn't stop Stephen Curry from putting on a show, scoring 38 points and dishing out 9 assists to lead the Sophomore team to a 99-92 victory over the rookie class of 2011.+

The rookies were missing number 3 overall pick Evan Turner of the Chicago Bulls, who is out for the season due to a broken ankle, but their Point Guard duo of John Wall and Ricky Rubio carried the load for the rookie team. Wall had a team high 20 points along with 6 dimes while Ricky Rubio dished out an all-time second best 15 assists, only 2 below Chris Paul's record of 17, along with 12 points.

Their rookie big men's production were not too shabby either, as Ed Davis and Derrick Favors both had double doubles and combined for 36 points and 20 rebounds, but they were no match for the Sophomores.

Blake Griffin had 20 points and 9 rebounds while the man who had a 20-20 last year - Dejuan Blair, put in 6 points and grabbed a game high 13 boards. It wasn't the domination of last year, but it was enough to get the job done.

Jennings added 19 points after a slow start and James Harden chipped in 12 of his own.

The Sophomores poured in their points from downtown, shooting 11 for 26 from beyond the arc for a blazing 42%. They were 40/96 from the field for the game and held the rookies to just 2/9 from three. The rookies managed to do damage in the paint, but it just wasn't enough to counter the three point barrage from Curry and co.

"It was a great game" said Curry after receiving MVP honors "I had the shot going and guys were just finding me. I thought Blake and the other guys did a good job being aggressive early so we got plenty of open looks"

Note: as you guys might have noticed, i havent updated, or rather, been around in a while. School's pretty busy and i have some personal problems that im dealing with right now. When i get a bit more free i'll pick this up again.

Kobe dominates as West tops East



Los Angeles, CA - It is usually the tradition for the All-Stars to try and give the home-town player the chance to win the MVP award.

Tonight, they didn't need to.

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the game without the need of anybody's intentional help, scoring a game high 35 points on 13 for 25 shooting in just 23 minutes played to take home his 4th All Star Game MVP trophy. Bryant now stands at a tie with the great Bob Pettit as the only players to win 4.

5 other players from the West were in double figures, but none had more than 15 points, with Durant scoring the second highest total with 13 points on 5 for 9 shooting. LeBron James of the Sacramento Kings struggled from the field and finished with just 11 points on 4 for 14 shooting.

The West came out firing from the start, scoring 34 points in the first quarter before "cooling" down in the second with 32. They eventually slowed down in the second half, scoring just 25 points in the 3rd before taking on the challenge presented by the resilient East squad and scored another 34 points in the 4th to take the 9 point win. Bryant had 10 of his 35 in the final 5 minutes of the game.

The Eastern Conference All-Stars were led by the Chicago duo of D-Wade and D-Rose, as the two combined for 42 points. Rose had an additional 8 assist while last year's All-Star MVP Flash had 6 rebounds and 5 dimes along with 3 steals to add to his 25 points.

The East fought hard to climb back from an early deficit but ultimately came up short as they were unable to contain the West's barrage of 3 point field goals. The Western All-Stars went 8 for 17 from beyond the arc while the East went 5 for 12. Additionally, the West got to the line more in a game that had an unusual amount of foul calls being made, not typical of an All-Star Game. The West shot 31/37 FTs while the East converted on just 71% of theirs (23/31).

Of course, there is also the unstoppable Kobe Bryant.

Fired up by his home crowd and at the snub of his co-pilot Pau Gasol from the All-Star Game. Bryant showcased his entire offensive repertoire, ranging from his patent turn-around fadeaway and pull up jumpers to ferocious dunks and double clutch layups along with other spectator mid-air adjustment buckets.

"You know, we lost last year at Dallas and i couldn't play due to an injury, and Pau got snubbed this year" said Bryant after the game "That kinda pissed me off a little, so i just want to come out here and get us the win, and play Pau's share for him."

Ahh, update Another trophy to Kobe's collection

So if Pau did play in the Allstar Kobe would not score 35.
