OKC - 2011/12 - Thunder Three-peat

A collection of memorable stories from NBA Live's franchise and career modes.

Re: OKC - New City, New Challenge - [2011] [6-1]

Postby Phil89 on Thu May 06, 2010 8:08 pm

This game has lost it's excitement ever since I had to restart it. It's just not the same. :(
I played 100 games exactly in the original save. Really sucks that all that effort was for nothing.

I've been thinking about some of those challenge ideas in the other thread and I feel like giving one a shot.
Maybe I'll start a game with New Jersey or New York. I really enjoy putting squads together, and with their expiring contracts it could be fun.

Understandable, as I said I'd have a hard time getting back into it after what happened.

Yep, do what De8 says... it would be nice to see you playing with a revamped Nets squad.

Re: OKC - New City, New Challenge - Update soon

Postby Phil89 on Tue May 18, 2010 8:53 pm

I figured out a way to basically get back to the point I was at before I saved over my last game.
I started a new Thunder Dynasty and added several superstars to my team to ensure I got lots of wins and made the playoffs.
Just before the trade deadline I returned all the players to their rightful teams and simmed the rest of the season.
In the playoffs I changed the settings to 2 minute quarters, 1 game series and rookie difficulty to make it easy to win the Finals.
Won all the games easily, (Ironically beating Boston in the Finals), and now I'll start from the 2011 off-season.

I solved my internet problem so now I can post the game reports from the end of the playoffs with pictures and videos.
I played the remaining Finals games against Boston in free play mode after editing the rosters to match this Dynasty.

Nice work, that was a creative solution. Congrats on the championship, hope you can follow it up with a repeat. Just be sure to save a backup copy of your Dynasty as you progress through the season. ;)

For some reason these 3 teams decided to sign more point guards despite the fact that they all have a good young one already.
CHI - Hinrich, Rose, Bynum, Blake, Law, Murray.
MIN - Sessions, Fisher, Williams, Watson, Flynn.
SAC - Udrih, Felton, Ukic, Diener, Evans, Jaric.

Redick was actually my second choice, but I didn't quite have enough cap room for Tony Allen and I didn't want to use my MLE on him.
To be honest though, I only signed him as a back-up for Roy and Harden.
