George7, Andrew, the problem with the new (not released) shoesacc.dbf is that i completely redid it (from scratch not a base then edit)...and it still crashed. the current TUP10 shoeacc.dbf is the TUP09 shoeacc.dbf...which is Andrew's + edits

Andrew if u can i'd like to pick ur brain about the shoesacc.dbf. the main difference i see other than the order the shoes records are in the database is the files size/# of records. urs is only ~300 recrods, TUP09/TUP10 Beta has ~700 records, and TUP10 shoe update has ~960 records. anyd ideas
please PM so the thread doesn't get cluttered.

in my experience with the new fixed TUP10 + my new shoesacc.dbf is that i experience less crashes....but there are just some combinations where only the intro causes a crash

ex. LAL vs. ORL @ Staples no crash
LAL vs. OKC @ Stapels crash

also i tried to test the shoesacc.dbf, here are the results i got (no ESC)
LAL vs. OKC using TUP10 fixed + current released TUP10 save = crash @ NBA Live 10 with team logos screen
LAL vs. OKC using TUP10 fixed + new unreleased TUP10 save = crash @ NBA Live 10 with team logos screen
LAL vs. OKC using TUP10 fixed + current released TUP10 save w/ Andrews' shoesacc.dbf = no crash @ NBA Live 10 with team logos screen, crash at first player called during intro (ron artest)
LAL vs. OKC using TUP10 fixed + new unreleased TUP10 save w/ Andrews' shoesacc.dbf = no crash @ NBA Live 10 with team logos screen, crash at first player called during intro (ron artest)
LAL vs. OKC using Andrews' save = crash @ NBA Live 10 with team logos screen

if i am the only one experiencing it and no one else is, then i will look more indepth at the TUP shoesacc and see what i can do. maybe something happened when i imported from excel? (since andrew's is just the default)

these crashes are only on the intro though, is i skip them...then no crash during gameplay. i've also tried with different stadiums with different results

as i talked to ej17, i think the better assumption is the large file size of SOME files and how the combinations they are used.

would the MOD be a failure if we just added a disclaimer than some conditions may cause an intro crash? and just put in the isntrucitons to his "ESC"? just like the instruction for the end of the game startup intro?

I had the same problem with Lakers and OKC, the same type of crashes. But only at the "play now" option, not at the dinasty one, what's weird. Hope this could be a clue, keep on it guys ;)

I wouldn't say a failure, obviously if those crashes could be eliminated completely it would be preferable. Disclaimers do tend to get overlooked so I think you'd still continue to get complaints, so getting the mod as error/crash free as possible would be better.

As for the shoesacc.dbf issues, I'm not really sure so I can only throw out some vague suggestions, but it's possible that there's a limit on how many new shoes can be added/how big the dbf file can be, or there's an issue with some of the shoe art files themselves.

Andrew, i noticed the default shoeacc.dbf is not in order (1, 2, 3, 4....etc.) it can be random like (1, 2, 3, 128, 5..etc.) however the game still shows the shoes in the correct order (1, 2, 3, 4) no matter what the order in the database.

do u think that "random" order is actually on purpose?

i believe it was Bryan_C. that said the limit is 999 shoes, any idea if that is correct?

I can't confirm it from personal experience but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a limit like that. As for the random order, I'm not sure that it's by design or necessity, it's probably more a case of shoes being removed and new ones being added with the old shoes' IDs.

i see, i'm comparing the two databases now and other than the obvious changes i can see the my import to excel missed a "0" for the shoebrand of the first record

which lead me to check for differences.
NLSC has shoebrands 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
TUP09 has 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
the one i'm creating has only 0, 1, 2, 3

...based on the maping from the players.dbf u have on the site
0 = none
1 = nike/jordan
2 = adidas
3 = reebok

so whats 4 and 5? (at least 4 since NLSC doesnt have 5)

sh094 to sh109 is on shoebrand 4 so I decided to take a look at the files using fshx.

The first two shoes are sh094 and sh095, at first I thought that through sh094 to sh109 are all the same shoes so I decided to take a look at the other shoes. The last two shoes are sh102 and sh109. Different designs but as you can see all of them are nike brands.

The question is why put another shoebrand if it has a default shoebrand in nike. I don't know who is Xiaoju but if he is the creator maybe you guys can ask him.

maybe nike shoes were full and xiaoju used this shoe brand as to put the rest nike shoes in?

I noticed, that when I removed the scoreboard file (I can't remember how it's named) the game almost doesn't crash at all. :roll:

Love the Mod so far things I noticed

1. i have the kobe/lebron home screen dont mind it just saying
2. i dont have the all time teams, i had seen it on the forums and was geniunely excited but im not sure if it was scrapped or i did something worng

Patchmaking has its limits, I don't think we can actually do anything about that.

dare, according to Andrew his shoeacc.dbf is based off the default shoes arts. which means 94-109 are not the ones u posted, they are the ones created by EA. after doing research i noticed that those shoes are the fake chuck taylors and the generic fake and1 lookalike shoes in different colors.
So my assumption is shoebrand 4 = Generic

Now the shoeacc.dbf released with the MOD is based on TUP09 which was based on the shoeacc.dbf+arts by Xiaoju. which appears to be causing crashes. so that is why the shoes u found are nikes. the TUP09/Xiaoju shoeacc.dbf has different shoes with shoebrand = 4....there are also shoebrands labeled 5 for that matter. but i dont know what that means.

the only thing that i changed with the TUP09 shoeacc.dbf is that i imported through excel...maybe i missed something during import? i'm going to test Xiaoju's default shoeacc.dbf or at least the original TUP09 shoeacc.dbf

George7, is there a limit of shoebrands per brand?

NixazMixaz, so ur using the default scoreboard...and no crashes? please tell me more

Valdis/187_MK, NBA LIVE 08 had Seattle/Seattle sounds/all Seattle settings. can't change it. Also the art of the OKC stadium is the Ford Center, but again we are stuck with Seattle sounds

Trizzy619, the released roster should have the all-time teams. did u download it, put it in the save folder in ur My Documents, then load it in the game? it should be there (there are only 4 all-time teams by the way) also menu art is fixed in the new upcoming release. KidJustin, im using the beta roster of tup 10 im not change the shoesacc.dbf file wen i play the thunder against lakers in staples center the game not crash bcoz i change the lakers court of beta of tup 10 i dont think whose made the court and the results is no crashing so i think the main reason of crashing is the file size...
and also im not using the intro of kramm bcoz his intro is crash in some team...so im using the default starting intro of ea crash free i think...

ej17, i agree the main issue is varying file sizes and different combinations

also i dont like the TUP10 lakers arena, for some reason the crowd is all dark, like no lights. ive seen a fix for it..but im not sure what happen to it. i think/hope Bryan_C. is working on redoing the courts still

as far as kram's intro, it does seem to have bugs, but i have no knowledge how to edit it...and kram is gone now...so yea... :| ( i do have a similar patch that was released a long time ago (not sure by who)...the intro screen looks a little different...i wonder if it will still crash)
