3 straight losses. Ouch. I agree you should move Scola to the starting lineup. A guy who isnt afraid to bang down low is always a plus

Its just like a movie...the protagonist should be beaten up in the start of the film, but he will have the victory at the end of the story :D so you should bounce back in the next few games!

btw, starting Scola over Lee is a great idea...Lee's scoring talent would be wasted as the other four starters needs the ball to be effective. :P

It's was a 'by the way' comment. No need to speculate too much. It's only the very start of the season.

Yeah, he may be a better fit in the starting five. I will consider it.

Are you implying that I am losing on purpose to set up this movie finish? :P

Tough loss vs the Bucks. Jay Gray is vicious. I like. The presentation is A+. Not too flashy, but I love the lil boxscores.

I wasn't implying that Lee sucks, I just think you need improvement. Gray is the beast, we know that.

There aren't too many players better than Lee... so I don't know what I'm gonna do...

Seattle Big Three Dominate
9 November, 2012
Preview | Box Score | Recap | Highlights

Image

SEATTLE (AP) – Andrew Bogut led three other scorers in double figures, Jason Kidd added 15 assists, and 2012 number 1 overall pick Jao Wu made his NBA debut. All in all, it was a great night for the Seattle Stealth. And it was a huge win against the new-look Denver Nuggets.

Bogut scored 25 points, Reshawn Tyson scored 24, Kevin Durant had 23, and David Lee added 16. “It was just a wonderful display,” team captain Kidd said, “It was brilliant. We just played our best game of the season so far.” Kidd wound back the clock as he found his teammates with perfect pin-point passes all game long. “I’ve never seen the old man play so smoothly. It’s as if he came back to the future in a dolorean,” laughed Durant.

Mario Chalmers led the Nuggets with 29 points and 14 assists on a night when new acquisitions Chris Kaman and Tracy McGrady struggled. Kaman finished with a respectable 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks but struggled to get good position against the tag-team of Bogut and Lee. McGrady looked terrible out on the floor as he shot poorly to his 8 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals. The former All-Star was 4 for 9 from the field, 0 for 4 from behind the arc, and 0 for 2 from the charity stripe.

The teams were basically neck and neck for most of the game before the Nuggets took a lead in the middle of the third quarter. That was when rookie point guard Jao Wu sparked a 13-2 run for the Stealth to end the quarter and the momentum was carried on into the final period in which Seattle outscored Denver by 10 points. Chalmers was impressed with the rookie’s performance, “He (Wu) is so fast with the basketball. He really helped Seattle pull this one out against us.”

Notes: Wu finished with 6 points, 3 assists, 2 turnovers on 3 for 7 shooting in his NBA debut. The American-Chinese PG was able to play due to Sebastian Telfair being sidelined with a foot injury… McGrady said after the game that he is working hard to reach the form he was playing with before his injury that forced him to sit out the entire 2011-12 season…

Coach Sit is holding back the no.1 pick, the Stealth should trade him before his value drops down.

Why would I trade him away when I have Kidd about to retire in the foreseeable future?

We all knew that. :P

Was thinking... in this alternate universe, where would Kidd rank among top PG's of all time. Number 1? Number 2? Or somewhere else?

I'd put Magic at 1. Then where do you rank the others? What's more important? Stats (Stockton), rings (Thomas), or longevity (Kidd)?

Person with the best list (judged by me!) gets 75 points to use on their player. :)

For the purposes of the exercise... the current PGs that could be considered greats are: Chris Paul, 1 time MVP and 1 time NBA champion... Jason Kidd has averaged 11 apg in his last season in Dallas, 10 apg in first season in seattle, then 9 and 8 in following two seasons and still chipping away at age 40... no one really else merits mention though.

1. Magic Johnson
Reason
Five NBA Championships, 3 time NBA MVP, 3 time Finals MVP...etc etc etc.
Just one of the most versatile and complete players in the history of the sport. Plus he's a given at #1 (Y)

2. Oscar Robertson
Reason
Averaged a frigging triple double for a SEASON
Top on the list in career triple doubles, amazing number at 181
Dominated everybody in his era
NBA MVP
NBA Champion
12 time All Star...etc etc

3. John Stockton
Reason
All time leader in Assists
All time leader in Steals
Arguably the best pick and roll point guard in the history of the game
Helped carried the Jazz to back to back finals appearances
2 time Olympic gold medalist
All Stars, All-NBA teams...etc etc
Prime Example of a "true" pass first point guard and an undisputed leader on and off the court.

4. Isiah Thomas
Reason
2 Time NBA Champion
Finals MVP
Greatest little man to play, at least until AI came along
Arguably the best dribbler in NBA history
Fifth on the all-time assist list.
Spectacular performance with an injury in the finals

5. Bob Cousy
Reason
Revolutionized the point guard position
6 time NBA Champion
NBA MVP
Dominated his era
Perfect example of a leader

6. Jason Kidd
Reason
Still delivering as one of the better point guards/players at this late stage in his career (frigging 40 years old!)
Triple Double Machine (3rd on the all time list)
One of the best playmakers of all time, incredible creativity and court vision
Great Defender
Basically singlehandedly led his team to back to back finals appearances as a Net
Help propelled the youthful Stealth to new heights upon arrival (WCF appearances, mentored and allowed players to grow into better players)
Great Leader on and off the court, leads by example and accepts responsibility
Jason Kidd wrote:Sorry Coach, I couldn't get it done tonight
(Chapter 2, A Legend Is Born III)

7. Chris Paul
Reason
Most likely the best point guard in the game today
NBA MVP
NBA Champion
Great defender and a constant 20-10 threat
Makes his teammates better
All of that plus the fact that his career is only in the early-mid stages, he's still got a decade of dominance in him

8. Steve Nash
Reason
Like Kidd, one of the Best playmakers in the history of the game, great court vision, creativity and style
One of the best shooters as a point guard in the history of the game
back to back MVP awards
Finals Appearance with the Trailblazers
Dominated the league for several years despite being a "little white point guard from Canada"
Plain Awesome :)

9. Gary Payton
Reason
One of the best point guard defenders in NBA history. (There is a reason why he's The GLOVE!)
NBA Champion
NBA finals appearance, forming a strong duo with Shawn Kemp back in Seattle
For a while, owned around 49% of the Seattle Stealth and was the head coach
Plenty of arguments with his players
Suicide Attempt
Revival in Memphis

(bonus points for the last 4 points? XD)

1. Magic Johnson

5 titles (1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988), 12 time allstar, 3 MVP,3 FMVP
The only player in the NBA who can dominate all five positions. I wouldn't be surprised if he appears in the Stealth's locker room.

2. Oscar Robertson

The guy just average triple double in one season, the only thing keeping him from no.1 is he don't have enough titles.

3. Isiah Thomas

The baddest little guy to ever play. I'm still amazed at what he done against the Knicks in the playoffs and the time he is injured in the finals against the Lakers. The only thing he can't do is be a good GM.

4. John Stockton

All-time leader in assists and steals, with a .515 shooting percentage. Very efficient. Best pick and roll PG.

5. Jason Kidd

The New Jersey Nets was a lottery team until Kidd joined them then they went to the finals back to back. I still think he should won the MVP in those years. He's a terrific leader and intelligent competitor. Can beat an opponent in so many ways without scoring a point. With him leading the Stealth the title is within reach.

6. Bob Cousy

The PG who won more titles than any PG today. The best dribbler in his time and the best passer.

7. Steve Nash

One of the best play makers of all time. Won 2 MVP which I think he only deserved one but still his a definition of "makes players around him better".

8. Gary Payton

One of the best lock down defender of all time. Even though he has issues still his one great leader and now his coaching the Memphis Grizzlies.

9. Chris Paul

The best PG today. An all around player who can score, pass and defend.

10. Chauncey Billups

A great floor leader. One of the reasons why the Detroit Pistons won the Finals in 2004. "Mr Bigshot" the nickname said it all.
