Redd lights up the Garden, secures Playoff spot for Bucks.
04/06/11 - Bucks (114) - Knicks (89)

    Image
Redd scored 44 points including this three off a Brandon Jennings' assist.

Michael Redd poured in 44 points and Hakim Warrick and Brandon Jennings added double-doubles to lift the Bucks over the struggling Knicks in Madison Square Garden. With this win, the Bucks have secured a Playoff-spot.

Brandon Jennings flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 14 assists and 8 rebounds. Thaddeus Young grabbed 10 boards to go with 8 points and 4 steals.

Former Buck Joe Alexander, who is really becoming a star in NYK, scored 18 points to go with 9 rebounds. Eddy Curry and Al Harrington both had double-doubles, ROY candidate J.J Madden had 18 points and 7 assists.

Madden has earned the starting spot over also former Buck Ramon Sessions, who played just 9 minutes and scored 4 points.

The game was pretty much decided in the second quarter, where the Bucks out-scored the league-worst Knicks 33-16. After three quarters, Michael Redd had already racked up 38 points and scored 6 more before heading to the bench with the Bucks up by 15.

Subs came in and increased the lead, led by Kyle Korver and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. Mean while the Knicks kept Joe Alexander and Devin Brown in the game, who both shot brick after brick after brick. Despite the deficit, coach D'Antoni didn't pull his starters from the game.

The Knicks are now a lock to be the team with the worst record in the league and can wait for the off-season, hoping to land some big name FA, in hope that some of them opt out.

The Bucks have have games left, both with teams below .500 (Wizards and Kings). Both are home games too and with luck the Bucks can jump to the first seed, hoping the Celtics and Heat struggle to finish the season, as the Bucks lost both games and will lose the tie-breaker.

Feels great to make it. I hope I can get a 1-2 seed, but I doubt I'll be lucky enough.

Redd caps off regular season with 43, Bucks get 3rd seed.
04/20/11 - Bucks (117) - Wizards (98)

    Image
    Korver showing some post moves.

The Bucks needed a win in the final game of the season to secure the best possible odds to get the first seed in the Playoffs. Michael Redd made it sure with a second 40+ points game in 3 games and carried the Bucks over the Wizards 117-98.

This left the Bucks future in the hands of the Celtics and the Heat. But as it turned out, both won the matches they needed and that left the Bucks with the 3rd seed and the Central division title and a future first round match-up with the New Jersey Nets.

Redd scored 43 points, knocking down 7 threes. He started off going 5-5 from three, but missed some shots and was taken out of the game. "I felt like I could reach 50, but hey we got the win and we have a great bench." said Redd after the game.

Andrew Bogut scored 24 points, including three 3-pointers. Brandon Jennings, who has averaged 20 points, 10.5 assists and 7 rebounds in the last 2 games, struggled however. He finished with just 9 points and 6 assists. This was enough to clinch the assists-title.

Agent "Soon-to-be-Six" Zero finished with 24 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals and the Wizards also got 23 points from Caron Butler, but it wasn't enough. The Wizards got 14 bench points, while the Bucks got 25.

Both teams were very hot in the first half, the Wizards up 67-66. But the Bucks shut the Wizards down in the second half. The Wizards only scored 32 points in the second half compared to 50 for the Bucks.

The Bucks will return to the Playoffs, going up against the Nets, led by Devin Harris and their off-season acquisition Marcus Camby.
