Yeah that is fun. Flying through car windscreens and jumping off motorbikes at high speeds are fairly fun.

Hey guys,
Just got a new PC to play GTA 4.
phenom x2 550
hd 5770
4gb ram
w7
I expected to play it smooth. Even with all patches and low settings I cant get it over 25 fps while driving. In cutscenes in houses i get 50-100 fps. In the menues even 2000fps.
Any suggestions? Its a great game but I get headaches playing with that framerate.

Thanks

Unfortunately, it's normal. Even with a badass rig, you'll never obtain great fps with that, at least when driving, there's just too much stuff going on on screen. Still, with your system, you should be able to get, well, mediocre performance with all settings to high at least, not with low settings.
The game is optimized for Core 2 Quad and mainly Core i7, so I think your AMD is what's killing you here.

Sportsgamer, you might want to go to gtaforums.com. They should be able to help more than us. You do have the game updated with the latest official patch, right?

Newest in everything. drivers bios patches directx
I found another patch thats 300 mb big. i only found it on the R* site but on no other. Itss 300 mb big and improved my performance alot. I drive with 30-40 now. Everybody should try that one. Great thing.

The game itself is great! Spent hours and hours now. The greatest thing is shooting. The most disappointing thing is the lack of clothing shops.

SR2 has no great cover system like GTA ---> GTA wins

Due to what Rockstar is calling "a request by Sony Europe to make some minor content changes to the PAL PS3 version of the game," Episodes from Liberty City won't hit the PS3 and PC until April 13 in North America and April 16 in all other countries.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least it's not Australia's fault this time. Our lack of an 18+ classification for video games is embarrassing, but then that's the Australian government for you.

speaking of which: those who have gay tony/lost and the damned: are they worth the price tag? i feel weird paying 20 bucks for an expansion when i get a full game used for that price. If its the same length as gta iv great ill probly go buy the combo pack..but as for now..im waiting

its not as long as the full game, but IMO both expansion packs were well worth the money spent

are the man dates still integral? god that should be abolished. Having a couple missions here and there to get info and make people like you is fine but every damn time i want to do the story some idiot like roman calls going "HEY TITTIES" and i feel obligated to do it...even though i know it doesnt really matter.

I never went on any of the man dates, or the women dates for that matter (aside from the ones you're forced to). Still finished the game with no probs.

The only good dates to go on are the ones that will get you benefits, like Jacob and his mobile arms dealing.

Those definitely remain one of my least favourite aspects of the game.

Yes, they're each 8-10 hours and significantly better than the original game (Gay Tony in particular).

I was up until 2am playing this shit - love Vice City FM, the new songs on K109 and the Martin Serious Show. I notice bikes are easier to handle than in GTAIV.
