That Hawks deal is a rip-off. Sry, but Smith is a legit All-Star and Hinrich a 6th man. You should at least include Gibson so that it hurts you a bit. I mean, it's not like he's a very good player but it would hurt you because you like his talent.

Brown and May are just there as Bench Warmers. They are rated in the low 50s so yeah...Core rotation is Noah, Smith, Brad, Taj (Y)

Yeah..i guess so. I was thinking rating wise it's a fair deal :?
They offered me Smith for Hinrich and Taj but i countered and stuff, maybe i should mod that trade into me giving a first round pick instead of second?

A first rounder or just add Taj, whatever you like more, both would be valuable things. Smith is just too much on the rise, this guy will be a All-Star next year if he keeps improving. Hinrich just is not.

Chapter 4

Two days have passed since Dwyane Wade left the office with his contract demands, and Bulls General Manager Leo Lai could not think of a way to sign him with some guarantee that he'll be here after the 3 years. He did, however, managed to fill the rest of the roster up by signing the High Flying James White as well as former Laker benchwarmer Sun Yue to the roster with more one year, minimum deals.

"All that's left now is to get Wade, somehow..." Lai said to himself just as John Paxson came into the room
"What's the matter, he's interested in the team, what's taking so long?" asked Paxson
"Wade wants a 3+1 deal instead of long term" replied Lai
"So? Give it to him then" stated Paxson
"He'll opt out again in 3 years, we need time to build up the team if we want a championship. If he bolts we're fucked"
"....Right" said Paxson slowly "Well, I don't care what it takes, get him onboard. You're the GM, figure something out, okay?"
"Yeah, i guess so...wait, where are you going?"
"Golf with Mike"
"GOLF? You are going golf!?" yelled Lai in disbelieve "Our team's future is on the line here, come o.."
"...Wait, you are going with who?"
"MJ, who else"
"MJ....Jordan.." repeated Lai, deep in thought "I have just the perfect idea for this"

✧✧✧✧✧

Dwyane Wade walked into the office of Leo Lai, it was the third day and he wanted an answer. He wants to sign but needs flexibility so he can get the most money available. He wants fame and he wants to be rich.

"Mr Wade? Mr Lai will see you now" announced the secretary "this way please"
"So Mr General Manager, are you going to agree to my terms?" asked Wade
"No, Not quite" replied Lai, smiling
"No? I thought you wanted me, or am i wasting my time here?" said Wade in disbelieve "Shall I just go ahead and resign with Miami then?"
"If you do that, you'll miss out on what I have to offer" stated Lai "We'll agree with your terms of it being a 3 year deal with a player option for the 4th year. A No Trade Clause will be included as well"
"Go on, keep talking" Wade was confused "What's the offer then?"
"There will be terms that need to be met if you wish to opt out" continued Lai "Of course, there are incentives for you to NOT opt out and agreeing to an extension, for the right market price of course"
"...What sort of terms"
"If we have a winning season with a playoff berth of 6th seed or higher, you will not opt out. Also, we'll need to make a visible effort at keeping our core members together, that of course includes the resigning of our rookie Derrick Rose when his rookie contract is up." Lai conclude "Additionally, if you do not opt out and sign an extension. Jordan Brand will also sign an extension with you, and they will make you the Brand's main endorser."
"How can i be sure that that'll happen?" asked Wade
"You do know what this team means to Mr Jordan right?" Lai said with a grin on his face "He has assured me that it'll happen. You can verify with him if you like"
"..No, that's not necessary" answered Wade "....I am ready to sign"
"Oh, just one more thing before you do"
"Yes..?"
"Your name will not be announced last in the starting lineups"
"Who will then? I thought I will be the main guy?" Wade asked with a hint of anger in his voice
"You'll earn that with your performances, for now, that guy is Derrick. He's from Chicago, he's the team's new captain, he's the first All-Star since Michael Jordan." replied Lai calmly "So, do you still wish to sign? or do you want to join your pal LeBron in...." Lai picked up the recently delivered transactions report "Sacramento?"
".......No, I'll Sign" said Wade after a pause "Nice being a part of the team"

✧✧✧✧✧

The Press Conference to introduce Wade went smoothly, as he was quickly and warmly embraced back into the city of Chicago, where he grew up.
Training camp, on the other hand, was another story. Brad Miller and Joakim Noah took turns at going out with various injuries while the tension between Luol Deng and Evan Turner that had started accumulating back at the draft combine has not subsided, but rather, worsened.

"Vinny looks like he's about to have a heart attack" Lai remarked, he and John Paxson were observing the trainings for the day "You think he can be the coach of a championship caliber team?"
"Well, last season's disaster was not his fault, so we don't really have a reason to get rid of him" replied Paxson "I think we should give him some time. If he shows that he can't handle it, we'll replace him"
"I agree with that." answered Lai "Well, it looks like Dwyane and Derrick at least are on good terms and playing well"

Rose and Wade have been playing terrifically from day one of training camp. Both players were leading by example and being a professional, being a leader. Rose was named team captain at the start of training camp and D-Wade actually stood out and endorsed him.
"That shows that he's a true pro" thought Lai "This will motivate him to play harder, though"
On the otherhand, his other signings were not doing so well. Kwame Brown clearly has problems with knowing how to play properly, Kyle Korver was struggling with his shot. James White couldn't do anything other then putting on a display with his dunks, Sun Yue went down with an injury from day 1 and Sean May has clearly been in the nearby donuts shop - He was taken away by the team trainer and the nutritionist to be put on a weight loss program before he's deemed to be fit to return. The lone bright spot belonged to Jason Williams. Who put on display some great passing and court vision, and was displaying true maturity and wisdom for all too see. He had taken Derrick Rose under his wing and taught him vital point guard skills that would be essential to Derrick's growth. Despite not being able to play like the White Chocolate from the past, Jason Williams' impact is immeasurable and he is worth damn more then the $1.40M deal that the Bulls signed him for.

With training camp coming to an end and their preseason games around the corner, the new look Bulls put aside their differences and were all pumped up.

All that's left is for the refs to throw up the ball.

That just doesn't sound like Wade. If he gets Rose, Turner, Deng, Noah, Josh Smith as his teammates in Chicago, he probably won't care about the money. :D

And what's with Lebron going to Sac-town? Damn. And you have Chapter 4 before 3.

Bulls acquire reigning DPOY Josh Smith
07/17/10

Image
The Chicago Bulls have announced the acquisition of last season's Defensive
Player of the Year and All-Star forward Josh Smith from the Atlanta Hawks.

The deal sends former Bulls Captain Kirk Hinrich, James Johnson, the draft
rights to Michael Washington as well as the Bulls' 2011 unprotected 1st round
pick to Atlanta in exchange for the athletic Smith.

"We are extremely pleased to have made this deal" Bulls GM Leo Lai said "Josh
will bring our team the energy and toughness on the defensive end of the floor
that we really need to get to the next level. We thank Kirk and James for their
contributions to the team, and wish them best of luck in their future careers"

Smith has a history of disagreements with Atlanta coach Mike Woodson, and
was rumored to be on the trade block last offseason.

Wolves trade Rubio's rights to Memphis
10/13/10

Image
Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio will come to the NBA this season, but he will be
joining fellow Spanish player Marc Gasol as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, who recently drafted John Wall with the number
2 overall pick, has announced that they have traded the rights to Ricky Rubio
to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for defensive swingman Ronnie Brewer.

"Ricky is a terrific prospect, but we've already got Johnny and John Wall" said
Minnesota General Manager David Khan "Ronnie gives us a solid two guard who
shut down opposing players."

In addition, the Timberwolves have announced the firing of head coach
Kurt Rambis and hired Gabe Carter as a replacement.

D-Wade heads home to Chicago
08/08/10

Image
After much speculation and drama, Dwyane Wade is returning home to his roots.

The Chicago Bulls have reportedly come to terms with the former Finals MVP and
Chicago native Dwyane Wade with a 3 year deal worth about 55 million dollars
with a 21.41 million player option attached for the fourth year.

"It's great to be back here" said Wade in the press conference "I will give everything
I have got to help this team reach the top"

Wade now joins All-Stars Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, and Josh Smith in Chicago. The
Bulls have also announced the resigning of veteran Brad Miller alongside new free agents
Kwame Brown, Kyle Korver, Sean May, Jason Williams, James White and Sun Yue.

As of now, Chicago's roster stands at 14.

Bosh heads to D.C. Joins New Look Arenas, Wizards
08/08/10

Image
As Speculated, Chris Bosh has bolted Toronto. What was surprising was that he decided to join
the recently revamped and troubled Washington Wizards and their gun-brandishing superstar
Gilbert Arenas.

Bosh's deal is assumed to be similar to the one fellow 03 draft class star Dwyane Wade has
signed with Chicago, with it being a 3+1 player option Max deal, earning him 55 million dollars
over 3 years and approximately 76 million if he picks up his option.

"We are extremely pleased to add Bosh to our team" said Arenas, who recently changed his
jersey to #6 "He'll be of tremendous help in our quest for redemption and hopefully we can
be ready to contend for a championship in a few years"

The King goes to the Kings.
08/12/10

Image
Reigning Back-to-back NBA MVP LeBron James has decided to jump ship to Sacramento.

The Sacramento Kings have announced that they have successfully inked the 6-8 superstar
forward to a 4 year, $75 million dollar deal that includes a player option for the fifth year.

LeBron was widely assumed to sign with either the Knicks or back with Cleveland, so this
news shocked the basketball world. Many question at why he would sign on with a team
that had been making the lottery year after year, but he disputed all that with a laugh.

"All you blockheads just need to remember this" James said at the press conference with
a 'LBJ MVP' tshirt that had the words 'Check My Stats' on the back "Which ever team i join
will automatically become a title contender and have their ticket sales double. That's a fact"

In addition to LeBron, the Kings have also signed former Spur Manu Ginobili to from a
big three with Tyreke Evans and LeBron James.

The Knicks, who were devastated at the loss, has made all the wrong moves and
blasted their cap space with the signings of D-Leaguers Pat Ellis, Clay Davidson,
and Kyle James to long term, large deals. Team president Donnie Walsh was reportedly
rescued from several suicide attempts and is now being treated at a mental institution.

Heat signs Boozer, Salmons to replace void left by Wade
08/10/10

Image
The Miami Heat have announced the signings of former Jazz All-Star forward Carlos Boozer
and Swingman John Salmons to the roster.

Boozer is signed to a 5 year deal that is approximately 80 million dollars while
John Salmons signs on for 5 years and approximately 15 million. The two would
join a recently resigned Jermaine O'Neal as well as 3rd year forward
Michael Beasley to form a solid core in their post-Wade era.

David Lee heads to Oklahoma City, Joins Durant
08/13/10

Image
Former Knicks All-Star Forward/Center David Lee is now a member of the Oklahoma City
Thunder.

Lee and the Thunder have reportedly agreed upon a 5 year deal that would pay him
approximately $65 million dollars.

Lee joins a up-and-coming Thunder team that features the likes of Kevin Durant, Jeff Green,
Russell Westbrook, James Harden as well as number 1 overall pick Cole Aldrich.
