Re: Da Clip Show | Massive Free Agency Recap.

Good pick up on T-Mac, I expect you to give him plenty of minutes. He is also very capable at playing PG or running the offense ive found. Probably one of the most underrated playmakers in the league IMO.

With the team looking to make the post-season this year, I will be taking the Larry Brown approach with Aminu. Pondexter, as much as I like him, will probably end up in the NBDL. Aminu is my SF and #3 option of the future, but this season I'll develop him, barring injuries. Where the minutes crunch comes in is Rasual Butler, who I couldn't bring myself to let go. I played the first game, and despite my roster being stacked, he got some legit PT.

As for LeBron joining the Knicks, I had his player option deactivated and got lucky. I made a couple alterations to the other teams' rosters to prevent logjams and such, but I was pleased by the CPU for the most part. The Knicks are still heavily stacked, but Gallinari may be too soft to start at the 4.

Depth Charts for the rest of the league coming tomorrow. Stay tuned.

How did Lebron become a free agent? In mine he always resigns, and where did Bosh go?

Re: Da Clip Show | Massive Free Agency Recap.

Wed Mar 03, 2010 7:21 pm

You could go with switching LeBron to PF, not unrealistic in D'Antoni's system and given the fact that LeBron is just a beast physically.

Nice pickups in Free Agency (Y)

Nice coverage.

Although after your free agency period, you picked up a couple of SF's, it makes me think why not draft Patrick Patterson. Outlaw is more a SF anyways. If & when Griffin gets injured, you'll wish you had followed my advice

De8, Getting rid of his player option helps...

hova-, Yeah. Hopefully Gallo becomes Dirk though.

Valor, Thanks man.

The X, Thanks X. I loved the way you covered free agency in your dynasties, so I emulated it.

T-Mac is going to primarily play shooting guard, backing up the inconsistent Eric Gordon. Travis Outlaw, meanwhile, has a PER of 22 IRL when playing the 4 as opposed to 15 at the 3. Plus, with DeAndre Jordan sucking in this game, I'll be running a lot of smallball with Griffin at the 5. If Blake does go down, Aminu can play the 4, and Trout is an absolute beast in this game. (Honestly, I wouldn't mind Blake tearing his ACL again too much)

I really like the addition of McGrady to your bench. (Y) The Knicks will be pretty deadly with their new big three and definitely be a title contender this season.

LOL at the Bobcats having 1 SF, I like the Heat's lineup with Boozer and Camby and the Knicks with Joe Johnson and Lebron James

with Trout resigned plus the adds of Brewer and TMAC your team is frakkin' awesome! look fwd to seeing how they do as a unit on the court

Re: Da Clip Show | Massive Free Agency Recap.

The other teams don't look to rediculus so playing them should still be interesting. Also exited about how you can perform on the court.

Re: Da Clip Show | Massive Free Agency Recap.

Thu Mar 04, 2010 6:50 pm

Yeah Memphis, 5 PG? Why not. I also like the fact that A. Simmons and A. Riley show up, hell, fuck those D-leaguers. It takes about 20 mins to change the age of every d-leaguer to 45 which causes them to retire. The D-league is filled with FAs then. Maybe I shoulda told you before.
The Wizards look like one of the worst teams ever. You're definitely top 10 material.

Lol i bet Anthony Riley will be runner up to ROY

Re: Da Clip Show | Massive Free Agency Recap.

If I was you I'd edit DeMarcus Cousins into a PF/C so he can start next to Bogie (Y)

Hating that Evan Turner has to play with chump Derrick Rose (N) Was hoping Turner might get a few touches in his rookie season. Sadly I was mistaken (N)

Knicks looking pretty good (Y)

Also good to see Hughes back starting in D.C. (Y)

I predict a Knicks-Heat ECF series.

You sure look like a Playoff-team with T-Mac. (Y)

2010 Pre-Season Recap

October 27, 2010 - Offseason additions Ronnie Brewer, Al-Farouq Aminu and especially Tracy McGrady looked good in pre-season, in which the Clippers went 5-3. T-Mac averaged 19.2 points in 31 minutes per game off the bench, while Brewer and Aminu showed immense promise on the defensive end.

Pre-season started with a heartbreaking loss 98-96 in San Antonio courtesy of a Tony Parker game-winner. Blake had 24 and 10, while (Steve) Blake contributed 14 points, 7 assists and a +11 off the bench. The Clip Show recovered and won four straight games, against the Suns, Warriors, Kings and Jazz. However, in the Jazz game, Eric Gordon tweaked his hamstring, and would be out for the pre-season.

Kim Hughes opted to keep T-Mac in a reserve role, instead inserting rookie Aminu Acids into the starting five. The Wake Forest product showed promise, averaging nine points and four boards in 23 minutes per game in the three games he started. The team went 1-2 in those, but the kid showed serious promise, and could be our glue guy small forward of the future.

Results:
Clippers 96, Spurs 98 | Tim Duncan: 28 points, 13 rebounds; Blake Griffin: 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10-14 FG
Suns 101, Clippers 110 | Baron Davis: 19 points, 13 assists, 4 steals; Amar'e Stoudemire: 32 points, 4 rebounds, 14-22 FG
Warriors 76, Clippers 105 | Tracy McGrady: 28 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists; Anthony Randolph: 20 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists
Kings 88, Clippers 91 | Blake Griffin: 17 points, 15 rebounds, 8-10 FG; Carl Landry: 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks
Clippers 103, Jazz 97 | Ronnie Brewer: 20 points, 7 rebounds; Deron Williams: 23 points, 15 assists
Clippers 88, Lakers 100 | Pau Gasol: 25 points, 8 rebounds, 10-10 FG; Travis Outlaw: 21 points, 5 rebounds
Clippers 94, Thunder 101 | Kevin Durant: 32 points, 7 rebounds; Tracy McGrady: 23 points
Timberwolves 87, Clippers 104 | Baron Davis: 23 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds; Kevil Love: 13 points, 20 rebounds

McGrady's 19.2 PPG led the team, but Baron Davis chipped in 17.5 (and a team-high 6.75 APG) and sophomore Blake Griffin averaged 15 points and 11 boards. Shaun Livingston seemed to have aged 10 basketball years, being drained of his once-celebrated athleticism. He nonetheless showed solid court vision, and enough savvy to warrant his place on the team.

The Clippers will play their season opener at the AT&T Center against the Spurs. Eric Gordon is expected to play and start, but may have limited minutes.

Really shouldn't have jumped the gun and simmed the pre-season. Played the season opener with no gameplan or set rotations. Oh well. Can't be bothered to make a season preview, so season opener @ SAS next!

Just a wow at the numbers PFs are putting up against you in simmed games. I mean Landry, Amare, Randolph, Gasol among the best players against you. I assume your inside D isn't the best anyway, but in simmed games it seems to hurt you. Hopefully in played games you can pick up the slack and play good D down low. Good to see Aminu performing to your liking. He's one of those guys who have just the body to dominate defensively, wiry, long, quick and athletic.

Looking forward to played games.

I guess TMac will be relegated to a 6th man/Ginobili role for the remainder of his career? Hmm... dude's got too big an ego and that definitely won't sit well; if he's consistently dropping 20+ PPG and feeling even 1/2 his former unstoppable self, expect a clash for the starting spot...
