Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I didn't like the trade that much.Elson is the one that i don't like at all.Maybe Thomas and Warrick would be sth better,But now Bulls lose shooting %.Maybe it's a reason to play more Devin Brown. We'll see.Hopefully Wade will mke it to the Bulls the summer, and help Rose to make a championship contenter squad.Cause personallyi believe Rose is te main player to be concetrated and build a team around him and Wade if he comes.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Elson's a throw in for salary purposes, he's an expiring contract so I don't mind so much. With Salmons' contract, the Bulls were probably going to have to take on some dead weight to get the trade through and if it's only until the end of the season it's not too bad. Getting even thinner at shooting guard was hardly a brilliant move but this one's obviously meant to pay dividends in the free agent frenzy so let's see what happens with Thomas before the deadline.

With Thomas,i mean Kurt Thomas, not Tyrus.
But last match in the highlights of CHI @ NYK I heard a commentator saying after a Thomas dunk ,"In his last game too?" after talking about Salmons as well.Maybe a sign?

P.S 2k10 countdown clock in nba.com has expired so there no other trade i suppose

:cheeky: Seems like the Bull's fans these days are stalking Wade. Don't!

Not so true on the countdown, the countdown took the local time for some reasons and thus expired earlier (it was the same for me). There's still 2 hours and 40 minutes til the end if I'm not mistaken. On the subject tho, another trade is very close to be finished for the Bulls:

The Bobcats are close to landing Tyrus Thomas in a deal with the Bulls that would send expiring contracts and a future protected (according to Ric Bucher) first round pick to Chicago, a person with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com.

A source told Yahoo! that a deal between the Bulls and Knicks for Thomas is now considered a longshot.

Update: Yahoo! reports that Acie Law and Flip Murray will be the two players sent to Chicago for Thomas if this deal is finalized.

Update No. 2: Yahoo! reports that this deal has now been formally agreed upon.

A small Law fan here, hopefully he will get his chance and finally succeeds in Chicago.

ew, another disgusting trade that would send us to the lottey rather then playoffs this season, with no guarantee of a big name (like Wade) signing (N)

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Don't really see the point of that trade to be honest. Tyrus expires anyway, and those guys don't help Chicago in the short or long term.

Great to get ~10M cap space, but why jeopardize this season for it?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Feb 19, 2010 8:15 am

It gives them another shooting guard, I guess. So long as they can maintain and overachieve a little, it'll hopefully be worth the cap relief at the end of the year.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

yeh i agree with you Andrew. $ & talent is the ideal situation. first things first though. the Bulls had to free up the space..

Rose has been playing awesome, Deng's been good. they should still compete for a playoff spot.. as long as Noah's healthy

these other trades- ok. i agree with whoever said Warrick/Murray should fill in Thomas/Salmons role easily

i had heard a rumor that Deng/Thomas were offered to Minny for Al Jefferson. haha

edit*: i just saw a clip from Gar Foreman's press conference. he is one ugly dude. has a face for radio

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

My opinion after all these trades.
Tyrus Thomas=Hakim Warrick not a big change. They're exactly of the same style and same abilities.
Salmons >= Acie Law maybe Salmons is a little better shooter than Law,but i hear Law is more tough worker. We'll see
Murray and Alexander.Ok for both.Neither good or bad these two. :|
and given two 2nd round pick and received a 1st round.that's ok

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thomas is a better defender. Ultimately I don't think any of them will be around beyond the end of the season so as long as they have their moments, Rose, Deng and Noah are at their best (or near enough) and they get some good minutes from Gibson, Hinrich and Miller, it should hopefully be enough to get them through the end of the season with as respectable a performance as possible.

He was coming back from an injury so you cant blame him for the lack of touch. The Bulls won by 32 so it didnt matter anyways

You gotta admit it's pretty damn funny.Even Brad wad laughing

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

An emphatic win, their fourth straight. Looking at their remaining games for February, Portland's their best opponent and they're facing them in Chicago so they've still got a chance of beating them and ending the month strong. Hopefully Noah's back at full strength soon,

Taj Gibson has been playing like a man possessed since the All-Star break (first New York game an exception, but a win's a win). He's averaging 13.5 ppg, 12 rpg, 2.3 bpg and shooting .625 in 31 mpg, and the Philly game saw him with his first career 20-10 effort. Nice games from Warrick and Flip as well.

The team's working out well as it seems and i believed that the trades will disorganise the team, but i was wrong fortunately.
Warrick and Murray played well.
Big LOL at Noah!Reminds me of the old NBA Jam,when the dunk hit the rim!

yeh how about that? i still can't stand Gibson but i'll give him credit. i' guess i'll soften my stance on hating on now since Thomas is no longer on the team. with Noah out, Gibson's been great.

Warrick and Murray played well.

I think talent-wise, those trades hurt the team. fortunately, Murray & Warrick have been better fits. Murray doesn't stall the offense with those stupid jab step fakes from 3pt land like Salmons does. plus he's used to being a spark off the bench.. something Salmons couldn't do. Warrick seems to understand what his role is- hustle/be active and maybe hit a jumper or 2... not try to prove he should be in the starting lineup like Tyrus was doing

but we'll see what happens once Noah comes back. Miller's been playing decent. his passing & outside shooting adds another dimension to the offense. but he's still a poor finisher/defender. VDN normally goes with only a 7 man rotation. someone's going to get screwed

Disappointing loss to the Wizards, outscored in the third to erase a ten point halftime lead. Thought they might pull out an impressive comeback when it was 96-95 Wizards, but it was not to be.

A loss ,but otherwise they played well and Rose seems to be getting better and better.Hopefully will be back to wins soon

Six of their next seven games are at home, though they have some tough opponents coming up in March.

Good win over the Pacers, though I expected it to be a bit more of an emphatic victory after the first quarter.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:58 pm

A win is a win and the two basic weapons Rose and Deng are on fire and that's good.
Let's see what Noah can do when he will be in full form.
Brad Miller is really good from the 3pt line. Not many Cs can do it

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Feb 26, 2010 8:26 am

It's a shame they gave up Brad Miller for the first time, it would've been nice if they'd have him in his prime. Still, what's done is done and it's brought them to a point where they're at least competitive with a few playoff appearances to their credit and a chance to bring in a star free agent at the end of the season, so things could be worse. I was expecting much bleaker things when Ben Gordon left and I still think letting it get to the point where he could walk for nothing was a waste, especially if there truly was a chance of getting Pau Gasol a few years back and they passed it up to keep Gordon who they ultimately didn't keen anyway. Still, it's not looking too bad and perhaps they can finally take a step up next year if they're able to make the right moves.

And that's the key here: the right moves. We don't need to see another Ben Wallace-like signing or Vinny Del Negro replaced with another inexperienced rookie coach.
