Camby going to Portland

For Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw apparently.

He's averaging 12 boards per game, guess they got their temporary Oden replacement.

If it goes through then a good deal for the Blazers. With Andre Miller's improved play, as well as Bayless getting more minutes & Mills being a capable benchwarmer, they didn't really need Blake as much. More important was to get some interior shotblocking and rebounding.

Apparently ESPN changed the story, and now are saying they're just "in talks".

Yes, it was reported as a done deal by Ric Bucher about an hour or so ago. Then they backtracked as more info came in.

I love Steve Blake, but Marcus Camby is an absolute stud, and with all three players expiring, its a no-risk deal. Unlike most RealGM'ers, I love Steve Blake, but this is a deal you just can't pass up. Easily gets us into the playoffs.

Great move for Portland if they can get it done, much better than relying on Juwan Howard to fill in for Oden/Przybilla.

Agreed. You don't pass up on Camby, a rare proven veteran big man who's still capable.

It appears to be a completed deal, and each team will play each other with their new players on Tuesday.

Yeah, RealGM says it's done. Good deal for the Blazers if Camby stays professional and wipes of his tears. He's still the top defensive big man in the league (just without athleticism).
For the Clippers it's also a good deal imho. Finally a decent backup guard and Outlaw is definitely an upgrade over Al Thornton.

This will help the Blazers big time this season. Camby can still bring down 20 boards in a game and they need that with both Oden and Przybilla out. I hope this opens up some floor time for DeAndre Jordan.

I just jizzed. I'll miss Blake, and Roy losing his best friend in Trout sucks, but Camby is still a stud, and could get us out of the first round. I love it. Hopefully Blake returns to Portland, either in a month or this summer.

Ironically, in my Clippers dynasty, I had intended to let Camby go and sign Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw in the offseason. :P

I'm not a fan of the Blazers, but I'm glad to see Camby go to a good team. Hope it all works out for him.

I don't really understand this trade from the clippers point of view to be honest. At least take a draft pick..

Purely a cost-cutting trade from the Clippers' standpoint.

The $1.5 million they get covers 55% of Donald Sterling's racial discrimination settlement. ;) Blazers blow out the Clippers tonight with Blakey, Trout and Carcus not playing. Clip Show are predictably god-awful without their best player.

Funny how happy Camby looked during the game on the sidelines. I was hoping the deal was done quick enough to see both teams' new player's on the court against each other.
