Deadline Deal: 76ers Send Disgruntled rookie to Raptors
February 16th 2011
The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that a deal has been reached with the Toronto Raptors
involving disgruntled rookie guard Carl Cruz being sent to Toronto in exchange for Roko Ukic
and a future 2nd round pick.
Cruz, drafted 8th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the 76ers, has been unhappy with the lack of
playing time that he has been receiving, being sent back as the third or even fourth string point
guard in the rotation behind Louis Williams, Quincy Douby (before the trade that brought AJ Price),
and even at times, fellow rookie Jamaal Landry.
"It was a bad situation for me, not having a chance to show my talent out there" said Cruz "I think I
have the ability to play amongst the best of them, and hopefully these Canadians would be the ones
to witness it now"
Standing at 6'1" and 245lbs, the 20 year old Philippines native has been averaging 2.2 points and 1.4
assists per game in just 5 minutes per contest over 51 played for Philadelphia.

King James goes down with Broken Toe, out 4-6 Weeks
February 21st 2011
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James will miss an approximate 4-6 weeks to surgically repair his broken toe.
James suffered the injury during practice, when teammate Greg Oden accidentally landed on his foot following
a scrimmage, James immediately fell down in pain and was carried off the court in a wheelchair. X-Rays revealed
the break and although an MRI showed no ligament damage, surgery and rehab will take up to 6 weeks.
This means that the Cavaliers star will return at the brink of the regular season, and could possibly be ready to go
for the playoffs, if Cleveland makes the playoffs.
They are currently sitting at 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
"I am extremely disappointed at this" said James "I apologize to the fans and the team for this setback. But even
though we clearly won't be going to the playoffs this year because of me sitting out, when i come back healthy
next year we'll have a good shot at winning it all. So until then, i ask for my teammates to not stink that much
and embarrass this city."
