Get Yi outta there!

Give that PT to Terrence Williams, that guy can play 1-2-3 with ease, Yi just plays bad anywhere on the court.

[3-9] Redemption :: @ Milwaukee.

Nets' bench outscored 47-31; Bucks shot 45% from the floor
EVEN WITH JENNINGS OUT, BUCKS BEAT NETS
Preview | Recap | Best Performances: New Jersey -- Milwaukee | Full Play-by-Play | Team Stats | Image Watch Highlights

MILWAUKEE, November 18, 2009 -- Behind Michael Redd and Hakim Warrick's performances, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New Jersey Nets, 83-76 to improve to a surprising 7-2 record. Some quick bullets from me about New Jersey. With around 4:30 left on the second quarter, Bobby Simmons’ left shoe came off and Carlos Delfino tossed it into the stands. The cherry of the cake was Simmons’ reaction of incredulity. Some of you might remember Ron Artest’s incident with Trevor Ariza a couple of days ago. Simmons finished the game with only 4 points but a season-high 10 boards, 8 of them coming when he played at power forward, while Delfino had 12 for Milwaukee, held to 6 points on the third period but that didn't prevent them from winning the contest.

Redd had 19 points for Milwaukee and Warrick added 16 and two huge blocks over Yi Jianlian, who had 11 points but only four rebounds. Trade rumors about the Chinese float on the air and he could be on his way out of NJ in any moment. The most probable destination seems to be the Charlotte Bobcats. Chris Douglas-Roberts had two monster tomahawk slams in the first half, which pretty much reinforced my belief in him. He shouldn't be traded for the moment, despite some trade rumors on him as well on RealGM. I didn't find a word to describe watching CDR drive at almost a grandpa's speed and then suddenly explode to the rim and tear it down over Andrew Bogut.

Now, the best player from the Nets was actually, not Devin Harris. Yes, he had 16 points, an acceptable contribution, but coming in a season-high 38 minutes and making 7-of-18 shots. The Nets' best player was Kris Humphries: his performance tonight demonstrated why coach Tirieux has been backing him so hard this season. This guy’s skillset was huge, scoring 20 points and grabbing six boards in only 17 minutes, 8-of-10 from the floor. He has a beautiful stroke from the free throw line and a very solid repertoire in the post. He didn't have a good night on defense -- his matchup was Warrick, and Bogut at some stages -- but I think that will come though. I'm afraid to say, he will never be a guy who can guard an Amare Stoudemire or a Dwight Howard, but what the coach's trying to do is to get his defense to a level where it doesn’t negate his offense. Give him time. The offense is already there.

The bad news, was Brook Lopez's game. He had eight rebounds and also added 3 blocks, but scored a low 4 points on 2-of-12. Tough loss, but some promises for games to come. The Nets host the New York Knicks on Saturday and I'm confident we can grab a win here. I'm betting on CDR and Keyon Dooling to come back even better than yesterday, and also looking for Lopez to rebound from such a disastrous night.

So by doing the recaps you actually played those 3 games? Just double checking. Didn't read them but liked the changing gif one

As for trade, I voted no. I do not like Raymond Felton at all. That is my reason for being against it :P

Yep I gave Williams some minutes, he's playing really good. (Y) Some sick shots by him.

I played the Bucks one. Simulated the Pacers and Heat with Hoopcast, that's why I got all those stats. I know you ain't reading the recaps X, no problem. Just look at the bold words next to numbers, so I can get some thoughts about the players performances. :P

Not a fan of Felton either, but his 5m expiring contract was the reason to get him. Dooling has been having some nice games. Also to get Yi and Quinn out ASAP, really not of my liking.

If it's just a cap dump then yeah, it's alright I guess.

I'm not understanding the change in recap style. You like the website gif for simmed games, so does everybody else, why are you recapping them again?

I use the website when I have 3 or 4 simmed games between the played games (see the settings post on the first page). As you see here, I simmed Philadelphia, Boston (both Week 2), Philadelphia, Orlando, Miami (all Week 3) and now Indiana (Week 4). The first 4 went to the website, and then simmed the other 2 with the short recaps with no pics. Played the Milwaukee one, now comes the Knicks recap with no pics, then a Denver recap with 3 pics, then the website with Portland, Sacramento, and Lakers. Got it? :D

Okay, I got it. Pics are game recaps, ones without are simmed.

I still think you can include all the sim games in website formula & if you have less than 3/4 games in a row, why not include a pic of Yi & statement about trade rumours or a brief injury update or Brook Lopez donates to Haiti or something? :P

Yep, that's the idea, adding some misc things to the website. (Y) Posting 3, 4 games a day would end the season in 3 weeks :P I really want to finish the season, but not that fast

Like the website layout thing, but more importantly I like the speed at which your getting through your games.

I like the way you are going about this one so far. Gonna hesitate to get my hopes up though. I voted no on the trade. Felts would rot on the bench, and if you're going for expirings, why not try to get a bad player and a pick?

Nothing wrong with getting through a regular season in 3 weeks & a playoff series in a month

I think with how shitty your team is, that's probably a good aim :P

Thanks bro. As I said, it might go a little slower by half-March, school starts for me around there, maybe 2 games a days instead of the 4 I'm doing now.

Thanks Lamrock, that really means a lot to me coming from you. Your Warriors was an inspiration to me for this one. (Y) Just like in real life, T-Mac, Andre Miller, Ray Allen, Kevin Martin are all on the trading block, but I wouldn't risk getting one of them. I have Dooling, Humphries, Yi, Quinn, and I'm also considering trading Harris by the trade deadline.

Ok bro :D Will go with that speed then. (Y)

Guys, any of you knows where I can get a good draft class for the game? 2K Share doesn't work for me, I don't know why.

EDIT: Some expiring players I had on the radar are:
• Kwame Brown (4.1M)
• Amir Johnson (3.6M)
• Brian Cook (3.5M)
• Roger Mason (3.7M)
• Etan Thomas (7.3M)
• Mark Blount (7.9M)
• Brian Cardinal (6.7M)
• Steve Blake (4.9M)
• Raja Bell (5.2M)
• Mike James (6.4M)
• Luke Ridnour (6.5M)
• Kurt Thomas (3.8M)
• Brad Miller (12.2M)
• Brian Scalabrine (3.4M)
• Rasual Butler (3.9M)
• Steven Hunter (3.7M)
• Quentin Richardson (9.3M)
• Kenny Thomas (8.5M)
• Darko Milicic (7.5M)
• Adam Morrison (5.2M)
• Josh Howard (10.8M, team option)

Yeah with the trade I think it depends on what you have in mind for Felton. I mean yeah he is expiring, but would you consider resigning him for the right price? See I think of it as there being two expirings;
1. Contracts obtained purely for cap space, ie no intention of retaining the player.
2. Players that you will retain at the right price. A good example of this IMO is T-Mac, any team that takes him for cap space, but actually lets him play should assess his performance closely and actually has a view to resing him as personally I think he can still be very effective and will be likely to accept a contract round 10m.

So in conclusion  I think you should do the trade but only if your taking an option 2 stance (which for me, I just dont see it being worth it as Felton would likely have to play behind Harris). If you are going option 2 then don't waste it on Harris, as Lamrock said, deal for a poose player and maybe a pick, get a better value deal for you.

Josh Howard would be a option for a "Type 2" expriring contract :D

Yeah, but I don't like him, that would be a Type 1 for me  Would just do it to get 11 million off the books.

Maybe the most realistic from that list are Morrison, Blake, Scalabrine and Mason, from teams not rebuilding.

Harris's 23 lift Nets to win over Knicks
Preview | Recap | Best Performances: New York -- New Jersey | Full Play-by-Play | Team Stats | Image Watch Highlights

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., November 21, 2009 -- Lord have mercy! Al Harrington was far from the only reason why the Nets ran over the Knicks. I had to start with him because I couldn't find a "leader" on this squad. He’s supposed to symbolize toughness, hard-work and professionalism but lately he’s done nothing but put forth a dishonest effort. The effort from him and the majority of the team was so bad today! There’s not even a point in breaking down this game from a technical perspective because the Knicks didn’t even show up to compete. But enough of killing the Knicks, let's talk about our team. The Nets used a simple high screen play to carve open the Knicks defense. Chris Duhon’s lack of lateral quickness didn’t help and neither did Harrington’s decision to try to make everyone of his shots like it was his first. He shot 4-of-18 (a season low 22%). The only thing that worked for the Knicks happened on the third quarter, when Nate Robinson used a similar play to force a decision from the NJ's big men -- at that point, Tony Battie and Kris Humphries -- about whether to step-out and help Keyon Dooling or to sag and protect the paint. Early on, they opted to stay, later in the game they decided to come out to him, both worked and I applaud both Kris and Tony for that.

Honestly, I saw the Nets didn’t even have to expend any effort in getting clean looks. Keyon or Devin Harris -- at some points Terrence Williams, a stroke of genius by coach Tirieux -- just brought the ball up the court and zipped passes to corner snipers who were left wide open by the defense which appeared to be lost in a trance. David Lee was always late in finding Brook Lopez, who had two standing dunks on him. He was late in picking up Brook in transition, which forced wings to check Brook, thus allowing Harris, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Bobby Simmons clear paths to the rim for scores to kick-outs and a lot of treys. The only Knicks positive stat was their charity stripe accuracy: 20-of-21. The Nets even had a season-high 14 blocks! Bad news for us, apparently CDR didn't end up 100% healthy. Seriously though, man, sit down, you’re hurting the team when you play injured. Don’t for a second think you’re earning any points for heroism. This brings me to the Chinese. Don’t get me wrong, but he sucks. He shouldn’t be starting, but he played hard on some stages and seems to want to fight for playing time, and to me that alone is reason enough to give him some burn... from the bench. Hope the coach starts Humphries against Denver...
