I'm not playing all 82 games, never did. I'm only playing the games with pics :P I'm not recapping the games, just posting some of my thoughts on them.

Your breaking my heart bro :( But if you want to make one work, please cut down the recaps etc, maybe do 1 big one per month or something. Make it so easy that you basically play a week (play one sim the rest) and then you can post it nearly immediately. We love your writing but I would sacrifice a large amount of it in exchange for you competing a season!

Man, to be honest, even when you 'post thoughts' on games, that's basically recapping them and it'll be hard to do that for all 82 games, not to mention some of those you'll be recapping....

Of course, we all love the presentation, but when it gets in the way of sustaining the association/dynasty as a whole? they can just be dropped/simplified

Sit and Jae summed it up best,

[1-3] Redemption :: @ Charlotte.

NETS COOL OFF BOBCATS, GRAB FIRST WIN

CHARLOTTE, N.C., November 2, 2009 -- The Nets held the Bobcats to only 40% from the field and outrebounded them, 42-34. Granted, the Bobcats looked like a D-League team, but they still play in the NBA and the Nets made them look bad tonight. And no player was more involved in that than Devin Harris -- Devin had a solid all-around stat line, with 28 points, thre rebounds and nine assists. Brook Lopez added 15 points and nine boards. That is not to say other players did not have an impact -- Chris Douglas-Roberts and Bobby Simmons had 11 points and three rebounds each. For the Bobcats, Raymond Felton was a part of an above average trio with 19 points. He shot a solid percentage from the field (7-of-11, 3-of-6 on 3's) and only turned the ball over once. Boris Diaw and Stephen Jackson added 16 apiece.

Another point of note: The Nets protected the ball, turning it over only 16 times against Charlotte's 19. Forcing turnovers is not one of New Jersey's strong suits, but it was a commendable effort. It was a big win for the team, knocking out a conference rival, and getting the first win of the season. With a quick trip down home to play Denver at the IZOD Center, the Nets don't really have a chance at getting another triumph. Sean Williams, who was waived by the Nets last week, was signed by the Bobcats yesterday and had 4 points.

Anthony, Billups spark Nuggets win over Nets
Preview | Recap | Best Performances: Denver -- New Jersey | Full Play-by-Play | Team Stats | Image Watch Highlights

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., November 4, 2009 -- Since I went away drinking with friends, I didn’t get to see this game. I’m curious if anyone can tell me what happened to the Nets? From the boxscore, it’s pretty obvious how the Nets lost. Again. The Nuggets shot at a higher percent (56% -- 45% by New Jersey), but turned the ball over more (20 turnovers –- 16 by the Nets), and even got less to the foul line (19-of-24; 27-of-38 for New Jersey). The Nuggets beat them on the boards (39-36 rebound advantage), but, what is not explained on the boxscore is coach Tirieux’s substitutions. I’m curious why Yi Jianlian played almost half an hour. It’s not hard to imagine why Tirieux, in his own words, "can't stand him". Tony Battie yesterday was quick and athletic, with 9 points and 10 minutes, and I’m guessing that Denver's Nene had trouble keeping up with him on the defensive end.

With Carmelo Anthony having a big scoring night -- 32 points, nine rebounds, but seven turnovers -- I can make the same excuse for Chauncey Billups -- 21 points, 8-of-12 shooting. Instead it looked as if Tirieux wanted to go big. He gave Yi, Battie, Brook Lopez (16 points) extended minutes, which means than over the half the game the Nets had three big men on the court. So my question is, why in a close game -- New Jersey would start the 4th only down by 14 points -- would play the last minutes without Courtney Lee (7 points) and Devin Harris -- team high 25 points, six assists, six steals -- ? Really don't know. The Nets play Philadelphia next, hope they can bounce back.

I don't mind if you rip anything from my old dynasties. You'd obviously have to update & make it more pretty though to work in your Association

Don't worry about what others have done in the past, just worry about what you find interesting. Sit likes spinning a story to make playing Association more interesting. I always liked focusing on the team building aspect, whether it be trades, free agency or scouting for draft. Lamrock uses his self-deprecating sense of humour to make all that losing bearable.

At the moment your Association is essentially just recapping games. I myself don't read game recaps (outside of in playoffs when it matters) so that's why I won't comment on any of them because that style of dynasty doesn't interest me (I'm probably only person to ever say it, but I didn't like Mafia & Micchy Boy's dynasties at all because the core of them was game recaps, whereas I loved ones done by Cocobee and Honor Glow). For me, if I want to look at game recaps, I'll got to ESPN and see the real thing.

Is your Association just about covering the Nets in a professional manner that you would see IRL? Interested to see if you can add any intrigue or hook to this Association.

Thanks X... I already have doubts about this layouts, made them really quick, I don't know if I'll change them later. In previous stories I had the blog (Celtics, Spurs), the weekly rewind (Kings), I really don't what else to add. Any ideas for a hook?

I can't give you a hook, it's your Association, that's your job. I don't know how you're going to suffer through this long season with horrible Nets. If it were me I'd be tempted to sim through first season (or maybe until April), because when you think about it, the real life Nets are tanking this season & looking forward to off-season.

Don't worry if something like recap style isn't working, you can change it on the fly. I would often add things & if not received well I'd change it up until I found something that worked for me & the readers. I think it took me until my 2nd season with Bobcats to get a recap system that I liked.

Wade, Alston lead Heat’s taming of New Jersey
Preview | Recap | Best Performances: New Jersey -- Miami | Full Play-by-Play | Team Stats | Image Watch Highlights

MIAMI, November 14, 2009 -- The Nets have been losing these games on the road all season -- keep it close for three quarters, hang around, then have no defense and lose by 10. Tonight it didn't happen like that, but they still lost. Despite giving up a 13-point lead in the third quarter, the Miami Heat defeated the Nets 98-95. The Nets had their chances, but Yi Jianlian and Chris Douglas-Roberts turned the ball over on their team's last two possessions, and Dwyane Wade was pretty ineffective in the fourth quarter -- 8-of-11 in the first three periods, but 3-of-9 in the last. When Keyon Dooling tied the game at 92 with a 3-pointer, it felt like New Jersey was going to steal a road win.

Now, Wade was Wade, as every given night (26 points, 9 dimes, 4 steals), but the star of the night was veteran Rafer Alston. The former Net added 22 points and six assists, including the game-clincher, shooting 8-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. Now, I've been very hard with Dooling on the past few games, but tonight was just another example of how clutch this guy is. If it's the fourth quarter and you're guarding Keyon, DO NOT go underneath the pick and roll. Just don't do it. He'll bank the 3-point shot. The guy is unreal in the fourth period. Just thought I'd give him some props.

The musical chairs at shooting guard is so ongoing, it really isn't worth writing about it. Coach Thierry Tirieux tends to ride the hot hand, but tonight it came down to match-ups. Something tells me he didn't like the Wade/Douglas-Roberts matchup. After Wade went off for 18 points on the first three quarters, CDR was stuck on the sideline in the last period and had his warm-up pants all but three minutes of it. Brook Lopez left the game in the second quarter after Jermaine O'Neal had a collision with him. It turned out to be a sprained thumb, and he returned to action in the third quarter, but only completed 10 minutes; despite that he finished the game with 8 points. That's the thing about Brook: he's not the flashiest player, but he's the most dependable guy the Nets have after Devin Harris (26 points). You can always count on him getting to the rim for a lay-up or going for a shot when the Nets are down. His consistency is invaluable for this young team, who will host Indiana this Tuesday.

Harris, CDR lead Nets 4th quarter rally
Preview | Recap | Best Performances: Indiana -- New Jersey | Full Play-by-Play | Team Stats | Image Watch Highlights

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., November 17, 2009 -- A knock on the Nets is that they have a habit of playing to the level of their opponent. But yesterday, New Jersey did nothing of the sort -- all night long they beat Indiana like a cheap drum, going with fastbreak shots all the night, but the shots didn't fall, Indiana's neither, so they needed a 18-2 run in the fourth to grab the win. Perhaps the last two games -- against Orlando and Miami, both losses -- elevated the Nets' focus, energy, and execution. Maybe the Pacers were just plain awful (and they most certainly were, as their 1-7 record suggests). In the end, yesterday's game wasn't as close as the 91-82 final score would tell.

With 8:10 to go in the fourth the Pacers were up by 3 points and the starters were pulled by coach Jim O'Brien. Danny Granger was so confident of the win he asked his coach if -- as long as the lead stayed safe -- he could remain on the bench. He spent half the fourth quarter sitting with his teammates. The Nets went onto a 18-2 run and won the game. Granger did most of his work early, scoring the Pacers' first ten points. He finished the quarter with 14, and finished the night with a game-best 33. For the Nets, Devin Harris led the team once again with 24 and six assists. Center Brook Lopez, who recovered quickly than team doctors thought, had a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds), but at no point did he ever look dominating; Chris Douglas-Roberts was Harris' sidekick with 18 points and seven boards. On a positive note, Kris Humphries had 9 points and six rebounds in 17 minutes and gained more trust from coach Thierry Tirieux.

Perhaps most disappointing was the play of forward Yi Jianlian, who has been slumping. In 27 minutes, he scored six points to go with three rebounds, only shooting 4 times. Only 1 of his shots came from deep and his defense was nowhere to be seen. His past double-doubles were practically impossible to imagine. “The Chinese is whack,” a teammate blurted out. He certainly was.
