Nice job of holding Durant to only scoring sixteen points. Neither team scored many points though. Sorry man, but I'm not really a fan of the newspaper-style layout. The recap is exactly the length you need it, but I would just post it separately with one or two pictures.

Kevin Martin and Tyreke Evans looked like they know each other for years. Martin had 16 of his 21 points in the second half and Evans had 19 and 7 rebounds in his NBA baptism, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 78-71 on Wednesday night. The Kings won their first season opener since 2003. “It was about time,” said Martin. “Coach positioned me to have the ball late in the game. My teammates have an unbelievable amount of confidence in me to help us win the game.” Evans downplayed his performance. “Guys were getting me the ball in a position where I can do something,” the rookie said. “It was a good opener for us.” Evans played strong from the opening tip, scoring on the game's first possession and stealing the ball from Russell Westbrook the first time the Thunder had the ball. “Tyreke set a tone right from the start,” coach Paul Westphal said. “He was consistent throughout the whole ballgame and made it tough on the opponent. He put their big guys in jeopardy. He was just attacking!”

Kevin Durant had 16 points and Westbrook 11 for OKC, while Spencer Hawes and rookie Omri Casspi each scored 6 points, and Jason Thompson had 8 points and 10 rebounds for Sacramento. Thunder's Thabo Sefolosha, who finished with only 2 points and didn't make a single field goal, felt Evans' presence directly in several ways. He had a 12-foot jumper stuffed by the Kings guard with 5:14 left in the second quarter, and then fouled out late in the game with a couple of minutes left. “He played like he has 6 years of experience in the league,” said the guard from Switzerland. The Thunder shot just 35 percent from the field, 16.7 from 3-point range and were outrebounded 45-37. “It's an execution problem we had today,” Durant said. “We just did a bad job of executing.'' Martin took control in the fourth. His three-point play with 3:11 left gave Sacramento a 72-66 advantage. Then a Andres Nocioni's jumper with 1:34 remaining opened a 75-69 cushion, that clinched the contest. “They were taking the ball out of Kevin's hands in one point, and we've got to make plays,” Thunder coach Scott Brooks said.

Sacramento will visit New Orleans this Friday. The game is the first game of a back-to-back set, which concludes on Saturday night at San Antonio. This is the first of 20 back-to-back sets this season. With the emergence of Chris Paul as one of the league's best players, New Orleans is expected to make a third straight trip to the playoffs. Paul and the Hornets were eliminated by Denver in a first-round series last season, but the team is hoping to make a deeper run with the addition of Emeka Okafor as an inside scoring presence. Four Hornets -- Peja Stojakovic, Darius Songaila, Bobby Brown and Ike Diogu -- played for the Kings before in their careers. In the Kings last game against New Orleans, they received a game-high 40 points from David West and a 15-point, 15-assist night from Paul, but it was Rasual Butler’s threepointer at the buzzer that gave the Hornets a 111-110 comeback win at ARCO Arena on the night the Kings retired Vlade Divac’s jersey number. Nocioni led the Kings with 23 points and Martin added 20.

Kevin Martin was good. David West was better. West collected 24 points and 6 rebounds as the New Orleans Hornets posted a 93-80 victory over the Sacramento Kings, who could not take advantage of a big effort from Martin. Chris Paul added 18 points and Emeka Okafor 13 for the Hornets, who almost lose a 25-point lead in the third quarter before taking control down the stretch. “In the third quarter, we knew they were going to make a run,” Okafor said. “Martin got into a little groove. But we slowed them a little bit in the fourth quarter, stayed aggressive and finished the game.” West's three-point play with 4:33 remaining snapped an 75-75 tie and triggered a 9-0 run that gave New Orleans the lead for good. Paul followed with a basket and another three-point play, this time by Devin Brown, capped the surge with 3:08 to go. “We were having a tough time with West,” Sacramento coach Paul Westphal said. “They did a good job of moving him around in the fourth quarter. But if you're going to foul, you've got to foul hard rather than give up the easy one with a tough foul.” Martin added: “I just know that I gotta come in here and get going early, try to get my rhythm going, but they already had almost a 20-point lead coming into the second half and it was really hard to come closer.”

Paul also handed out eleven assists and Okafor 18 rebounds and five blocks for the Hornets, now 2-0, after the buzzer-beater win over San Antonio. “We need to work on staying aggressive,” said Paul, who only made 3-of-15 shots but was superb from the charity stripe. The Kings came closer after dealing with a 18-point halftime deficit behind Martin, who scored 18 of his 29 points in the second half. Martin drilled a jumper at the 6:11 mark that pulled Sacramento within 77-66, sparking an 18-6 surge to close the third period. The guard made three of his seven 3-pointers and scored 10 points in the burst. “Kevin hit some huge shots,” Kings rookie Tyreke Evans said. “I don't know who could have guarded him on a couple of those shots he made.” Evans totaled 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists as he continue his flirting with double-doubles. More bad news for Sacramento: center Spencer Hawes suffered a sprained wrist with 5:11 remaining in the last period; his recovery time is at least 2 weeks. He finished the night with 5 points and seven rebounds.

The Kings play next Saturday night in San Antonio, their third straight road game to open the season before they return home Monday night against Memphis. With a lineup featuring Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson and Manu Ginobili as the sixth man of the team, the San Antonio Spurs boast one of most talented teams in the NBA. The Spurs hope to triumph against a Kings team they've had little trouble beating lately: San Antonio has won five straight and 10 of the last 11 meetings.

I really like the recaps! Very simple and short, still quite neat and interesting to read. Seems like K-Mart is doing very well.
On one side that will increase his value for sure, but on the other side I guess that makes it harder to just let him go.

Tim Duncan scored 24 points, Tony Parker totaled 21 and Manu Ginóbili added 22 from the bench as the San Antonio Spurs emerged victorious over the Sacramento Kings with a 115-79 triumph. The Spurs moved to 2-1. “We don't want to get carried away,” Ginóbili said. “Winning by 36 like today, doesn't mean anything if you fall short in the playoffs. We don't want to be disappointed when the playoffs come. So, wins like this push us to work harder in training and come together as a team.” Beginning the second half with a 64-38 lead, the Spurs extended the margin as Ginóbili scored 11 of the team's first 20 points of the third quarter -- including three 3-pointers -- for a 78-49 edge. “That's what I call good ball movement,” Ginóbili added. “The guys were breaking people down off penetrations and made the extra pass when it was necessary.” Duncan, who flirted with a triple double -- 24, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and even 4 blocks -- said: “It feels great to have games like this, and win. Of course with a night like this, if your team ends up losing, it's all worthless.”

San Antonio continued to pour it on in the fourth quarter as Parker hit a 3-pointer and Keith Bogans and Antonio McDyess made two baskets apiece during an 11-3 burst for a 112-74 advantage with 1:08 left. “We have tremendous talent coming off that bench. Guys have accepted their roles and they're just coming out and playing aggressive,” Parker said. Coach Gregg Popovich added: “This was a solid performance; we came out and tried to make it as difficult as possible on them, tried to get back in transition. We wanted to be aggressive on the offensive end and tried to get as many points in the paint as we could.” As said before, six Spurs scored in double figures, three scored over 20 points and, also, three posted double-doubles, in a complete trashing of the Kings: Duncan, Parker (21 points and 14 assists) and McDyess (10 and 11 rebounds). Kevin Martin and Beno Udrih scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Sacramento, who made 33-of-78 (42%) while allowing the Spurs to shoot 44-of-73 (60%). San Antonio also had out-rebounded Sacramento, 45-27, and had 7 blocks.

“They were very active on defense tonight,” Udrih said. “They were getting their hands on a lot of balls, as you saw. It led to a lot of easy baskets for them.” Rookie Tyreke Evans scored 10 points and 8 assists and Andrés Nocioni added a season-high 12 for the Kings (1-2), in their most lopsided loss of this young season. “Anytime you lose a ballgame, its painful, but when you get blown out, embarrassed, especially on live television, its terrible,” Nocioni said. “You put your hat on and walk out of here cause nobody's got any reason to hold their head up. This isn't going to shake our confidence, we got our butts kicked.” With this win, the Spurs have won six straight against Sacramento and eleven of the last 12 contest between the teams. The Kings, meanwhile, return home after winning one of three in this road trip to start the season, to square off against the Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis (2-0) is looking to stay undefeated following a 116-82 win against Toronto, where Rudy Gay and Marc Gasol scored 30 and 22 points, respectively. Sacramento and Memphis split four meetings last season, with each winning once on the road.

Also, I'm in favour of Arenas out of those 3, as I don't think the Pacers would do that kind of deal in real life and I like Wallace sticking with Charlotte as well. Arenas of course has very bad contract, but in right conditions could be a star again and I would like to see Evans-Arenas duo in the backcourt (by the way, who would you start at the point then?).
