request transparent player circle

Postby The G.O.A.T. on Fri Jan 08, 2010 6:00 am

Last year someone made a transparent player circle. I would love to see this again. I prefer not to have anything under the players so it is as close to watching the game as possible. Can someone create this again?

very simple to do boys

use the 2k9 iff editor beta 9
http://nba-2k.com/iff-editor/

decompress the gamedata.iff file

open it in the editor and the first texture you see should be one of the indicators

save this image file (right click, save as), then just drag it into the middle of the texture on the screen from whatever folder you save it to
http://nba-live.com/jaosming/blank.png

then start scrolling down the available textures with the drop down on the left and just use that blank texture on everything you want to be invisible.

be sure to back up your original file please

Can anyone do this because I have a 64 bit operating system and cannot use the iff editor? So if anyone can do this since it is supposedly so easy, I would be grateful if they could upload it.

just grab the file i gave you or the blank one you made and from explorer (aka the folder) and just drag it over that texture and it will automatically import and save

Damn, I looked at all gamedatas, global.iff too, but still can't locate these stamina bars :| I'm afraid they just look differently in this gamedatas, that's why I can locate it...Someone wise could look at this gamedatas, and see...Please JaoSming, when you'll have free time, could you just open gamedata.iff, and try to locate these stamina bars? It should not be a problem for you, this could take only a minure for you...Please... At least just look for a yellow stamina bar...

So let's think...These stamina bars are changing (from yellow to black), so they are animations...Mayne we need to locate them in some animation.iff files? What do you think Jao?

the way 2k works with those animations it's just a texture file

there isnt a way to turn off the stamina bars in the presentation menu?

OK, one down - one to go...I deleted those vertical lines beneath the player (in gamedata.iff, but the file looked completely diffrent  ), so now only this yellow bar remains...I suppose he is still in gamedata file...
It's strange, because this bar contains (he's changing) 4 colors - yellow, black, red, and green - and the thing is, that I can't find any files similar with these colors! :| This is the tricky one! Damn!

Yes, there's a way to turn it off, but then it disables all fatigue for players :| ...

Marek, do you think you can release that version for the time being, until you find out how to remove the yellow bar? Or are you set on finding it no matter what?

Well, I'll try to find it first, I won't give up so easy, just give me couple of days for a final release - with, or without deleted yellow bar.

Unfortunately I've noticed first problem after deleting these indicators...I don't know why, but there's something wrong with the flash when people from the crowd make photos...The flash is not round , but quadratic, and very big :| I've tried to make photo of this, but it's hard to encounter when people will do these photos :| , anyway, here's a example of this problem (in red circle, right bottom):

Image

That thing is happening even when I deleted only first indicator (that circle beneath the player)...I don't know what's going on...Jao, any ideas? :| maybe I need to compress it back? I mean this whole gamedata.iff...

OK, issue solved...Flash works fine now, but I have found another bug - one of the referees has some sord of tattoos or something on his head and arms - for me isn't a huge problem, so I can live and play with that. Here's that referee:

Unfortunately I can't do anything with this, so I'll leave it as it is. Sorry.
