Bench player minutes

Postby Dave C. on Fri Dec 13, 2002 8:16 am

Is there a way to give more realistic playing time for bench players ?

I mean in season/franchise mode the cpu teams (when simulate not at game) have all starters at about 35-37 minutes per game and the bench with a max of about 10.

Thats very sad especially at deep teams like sac or with good bench players like redd when they have only 10 mpg...

Can that be fixed through dbf files ?

 If your ultimate goal is to increase bench scoring in simmed stats then the answer is yes...it takes a li'l while, but at least it's very simple. In the playersdbf. locate the players Developmental (D) Stats. Take special note of the players FG% and just increase FGA and FGM of any player and his scoring avg will rise. Make sure to scale these adjustments proportionately so FG% will be maintained. The method I use, is to borrow (FGA & FGM) from the starters to give to bench players. This will give you team wide NBA accurate stats for scoring. You should then increase bench players minutes proportionately as well, to allow for their scoring increase.
