I'm guessing Skiles' contract comes off the books after this year or next. I'm pretty sure he only had two or three years left on his deal when the Bulls fired him, two seems to ring a bell more than three. If so, they're free of that obligation heading into next season.

I'm not sure I'll be able to do a Bulls Dynasty this year. I've had some fun playing with them in recent years, my 2004 and 06 Dynasties are two of my all-time favourites in fact, but this year I don't think I can manage it. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the Mavericks.

something like $1 mil or 750k per year right??

Bulls vs Knicks tonite. both teams are pretty pathetic. i hope Eddy Curry plays in this one

Yeah probably something like that. He wasn't on Phil Jackson money.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

if the bulls lost that game, i would have officially started that King thread and get on their bandwagon

the knicks almost shot 50 3pters in that game. pretty friggin ridiculous

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Sat Dec 19, 2009 7:25 am

Ridiculous indeed, they fell only two short of the record for attempts by one team in a single game.

At last a win!
D-Rose was really good tonight
32 points season high
And Joe Johnson 40 pts!
But he missed the last 2 chances to win or tie the game in OT

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

it feels like forever but it's been a month since the Bulls won 2 in a row

i'm convinced that for the amount of points that Deng scores, he is the worst clutch player in the NBA. he reminds me of the 2 fools in the movie "Snatch" who point their guns at Vinnie Jones character. Vinnie Jones character realizes those guns say "replica" on them and goes on to tell a story about balls and shrinkage. that is Luol Deng

Bulls blow 35 point lead to lose to Kings. Epic fail.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Guess you'll be making that thread, AG. Kings beat the Bulls after being down 35 in the third quarter.

Hahahaha. That's some bull crap by bulls tonight.

Fire Del Negro.

If there was ever going to be any sort of straw breaking this camel's back, this would have to be it.

what's happening to the bulls right now? that loss against the kings was another reason to ship del negro's ass out of town. guess they really miss gordon

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

How the hell Bulls lose that!!!?????
Love Del Negro's face in NBA recap in 2.03
http://www.youtube.com/user/NBARECAP#p/u/0/8XCxgsEaSM0

He's like WTF!How we lost this game!

Maybe now fire Del Negro?
I liked him ,but now , not so much (N)

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:32 pm

It's not all Del Negro's fault, but still, it's time. It'd be great if Paxson and Forman followed him out the door, but we all know that's not happening.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:05 pm

I know that it's not his fault ,but you can't waive or trade all the players not needed and so the coach is the first choice mostly

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

When a player struggles on the court, you sub that player out. But when the entire team struggles, you change the coach.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I'm kind of pissed off that I stopped watching the game after the third quarter... That's what happens when I question my faith in Tyreke Evans.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:48 am

i didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or get mad about this one. i laughed. how the hell does a NBA team blow a 35pt lead that late in the game???!!! hilarious. Luol Deng plays like a superstar.. i've never seen him go to the basket like in the first half. then the 4th quarter happend. just like the bulls lead shrank to nothing... so did Deng's balls

since management doesn't care about this season- they put together half a team for christ sakes... i don't care either. i refuse to buy any bulls tickets or purchase any bulls merchandise. the most i'll do bulls related is post in a message board about them haha

i'm not which sure is funnier-
Del Negro saying in the postgame "it happens" in regards to blowing the 35pt lead
or
Westphal yelling after the game "should have been up by 40"

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:55 am

I suppose I'd be at a loss of words or at least witticisms after a performance like that, but that's still an eye-roller. "It happens".

I think this column offers a good summary of the situation.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 23, 2009 9:02 am

I expect "it happens" to be a catch phrase in the league when things go wrong.

That would make a great promo for the NBA.

Where "it happens" happens. (with a pic of Del Negro)

Bulls Giving Del Negro Until Mid-January

Just when things began looking exceedingly grim for Vinny Del Negro last week, all indications from the Bulls' front office were that the team was in no hurry to fire him.

Minutes before the Bulls and Kings tipped off Monday night, I spoke with a trusted front office executive familiar with the Bulls' plan, and he said it was status quo. Rather than push the panic button too early and send the surrender message to the players, GM Gar Forman and advisor John Paxson were telling confidants that they preferred to give Del Negro until mid-January to prove this season was going somewhere.

Basically only three weeks, but that still seems like three weeks too long if it's true.

Another take on the matter, with some commentary on Mike D'Antoni and his spurning the Bulls for the Knicks last season, following the loss to the Knicks today.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:02 pm

On the bright side, the Bulls are still only a game out of eighth place. What a great conference.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:32 pm

Rose made a frantic comeback in the final minutes on the Knicks. Chicago lost 88-81, with a paltry 31 halftime points. One NBA scout courtside insisted that, “Vinny ran three [different] plays the whole half and barely made any [play] calls. We don’t even know what to write down. They had a lot more variety last year, a lot more ball movement. It was almost like Vinny said, ‘Screw it, you guys figure it out.’

Nice. The players are as clueless as the coach.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

looks like he's gone

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/n ... id=4774723

The decision to fire head coach Vinny Del Negro has already been made, according to sources with knowledge of the Chicago Bulls' thinking. The fact that the Bulls' front office has not been able to settle on a replacement is the main thing keeping the embattled Del Negro employed, the sources said.
