Loads of people are freemasons. There's like 3 threads at Something Awful where freemasons answer questions about what they do.

Ugh, can I ask? What is a freemason? Is that a fraternity something?

Lol jesus.

Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that arose from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around 5 million, including just under two million in the United States and around 480,000 in England, Scotland and Ireland.[1][2] The various forms all share moral and metaphysical ideals, which include, in most cases, a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.[3]

The fraternity is administratively organised into Grand Lodges (or sometimes Orients), each of which governs its own jurisdiction, which consists of subordinate (or constituent) Lodges. Grand Lodges recognise each other through a process of landmarks and regularity. There are also appendant bodies, which are organisations related to the main branch of Freemasonry, but with their own independent administration.

Candidates for regular Freemasonry are required to declare a belief in a Supreme Being.[28] However, the candidate is not asked to expand on, or explain, his interpretation of Supreme Being. The discussion of politics and religion is forbidden within a Masonic Lodge, in part so a Mason will not be placed in the situation of having to justify his personal interpretation.[29] Thus, reference to the Supreme Being will mean the Christian Trinity to a Christian Mason, Allah to a Muslim Mason, Para Brahman to a Hindu Mason, etc.

Why is it a deception, as the thread title states? It's not like anyone asked Jay-Z if he's Freemason and he denied it. So what if he's 'decepting' people about the organization he joined, what's the deal? What if people already knew he's a Freemason but they chose to support him instead of calling out his 'deception'? Why is it a deception again?

If you think about it critically for a moment, you'll realize that he's right.

The boy lost me when he started doing quotes of the numbers!....looks like every theory which has numbers in it, has a different meaning!....and he complete lost me, part 4, where the album cover design came in!...the boy should know, that jay-z isn't really doing the album covers himself....probably the designer did some number research himself on number 3, a brief history and told jay-z about it, and jay was like, yeah that is deep!
