Loved the article. (Y) Always cool when game-generated rookies have impacts like that. Hopefully he doesn't suffer from Chara syndrome, and can lead Milwaukee into the playoffs next season

Gray was close. Milwaukee were like Seattle cept did not seal the deal and make the playoffs... they are a few pieces away from making such a turnaround so early in the season though. My guys are just so much better. But kudos to Gray, he is a beast.

And I think Woody Hannes may get a second promotion in the same year. :) What do ya guys think?

Great Orlando write-up, short and sweet. :) Nice Jay Gray write up too, the humble attitude sure is a change from Durant's antics, I want to see Gray go far, and I hope he NEVER gets involved with Durant.

Gray v Durant is fine, I'd love for Gray to make Durant eat his dust, but without Durant performing well your team doesn't do so good. :P

Yes, but we've (the readers) have seen a side of Durant the NBA Media are yet to see, haha.

Seriously though, keep up the great writing Sit. :)

Monthly Recap: March
Part Four: NLSC Rookie Focus

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Four of the Monthly Recap is the NLSC Rookie Focus where one NLSC rookie is chosen to be presented to you, the reader, in order for you to get to know them better. Part Five will feature the NLSC Player Focus.

Player Focus: Kenneth Dela Cruz

# 35 | SF | Dallas Mavericks (36-39) |
6’8” | 264 lbs | Age: 20 | Perdue |
2010 Draft | Round: 1 |Pick: 9 |

Position Rank: 29th
Overall Rank: 131st
Role: Sixth Man
Agent: "My client could be happier…”
09-10 Statistics: 5.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.5 spg, 1.4 bpg, .424 FG%, .431 3PT%, .658 FT%, 22.7 mpg, 75 GP

After pushing for added minutes, the Dallas Mavericks saw enough potential in Philippines rookie Kenneth Dela Cruz to trade away the troublesome but productive Josh Howard. In return for Howard came a point guard, Kirk Hinrich, but also the opportunity for Dela Cruz to gain more minutes and valuable experience.

The Mavs have always viewed the 20 year old Dela Cruz as a project. His all-around play and love for the game has impressed all of those in the Dallas organization. “This guy just balls,” owner Mark Cuban stated, “He doesn’t stop and is always training. I thought Dirk was a hard worker but after seeing Ken at work, I just could not believe what I was seeing.”

Dela Cruz’s averages do not jump out at you but he has shown a solid stroke from beyond the perimeter at .431 while his per 40 minute stats look like this: 9.3 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 4.4 apg, 2.7 spg, 2.5 bpg. Those numbers are not bad at all for a reserve that barely touches the ball. His ability to fill out the stat sheet is impressive and that is why the team has him inked in as a possible future star to replace the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and Hedo Turkoglu.

Dela Cruz is confident that his time to shine will come and whilst he is waiting, the swingman is enjoying the ride. “I’m not in any rush. I am still young and I am not good enough to start yet. I am just happy that the team trusts in me enough to create some more opportunities for me to play,” Dela Cruz stated. He also added a reference to good friend a fellow countryman Zoilo Resurreccion, “I’m not so lucky to become the star in my rookie year.”

NLSC Rookie Statistics

James Carter 12.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.2 apg
Kenneth Dela Cruz 5.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.5 apg
Chris Hova 8.3 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 4.2 apg
Ray Lliach 14.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.2 apg
Jeremy Mason 15.4 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.2 apg
Manfred Nissley 5.0 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 1.2 apg

Cheers Sit, I don't think I've seen Kaiser_kobe or Homicide around the forums though so far, or at least, their names don't ring a bell. The rest I'm familiar with. :)
