nice roster analysis, you definitely need to improve the power forward position
and er...try to trade Diop's horrible contract, although i doubt that is possible lol
keep it up! (Y)

thierryhenry50, thx, man. Glad you like it. I'm not sure yet who will be the assistant. I should have thought about it before creating the tense since I think everybody expects someone special :D

mp3, thanks. I have something in mind although I am usually not the guy who makes any roster moves too early. I am still pending.

Martti., thx man ;).

Lamrock, thanks. Youre right I guess ;) That's the challenge of this one. I think the defense is pretty good right now, but on offense it's tough to find someone putting up 20 on a regular basis.

dare019, thx :).

De8, thank you .

Lightning Strike, thank you. Will be hard but Ill give my best.

Valor, improving the PF position won't be as hard as getting rid of Diop, that's right. I hope I can find a solution.

Thx for your great interest guys!! I did not have enough time on weekend to update this, but expect an update on monday or tuesday!

Yeah, I think Gerald Wallace is your only scoring threat. I'm really excited for this. This has serious potential to be a top-tier association. :D

Lamrock, I also think this one can be big. Simply because I feel like the game is so much fun with the patch released two days ago.

Sit, haha ^^ We'll see, bro.

dare019, I havent planned that yet. Lately Ive been more in the real draftess, I have to admit. There is one draft class downloadable which is really well edited.

Please do the Bobcats proud. They hold a fond spot for me when it comes to dynasties

If you don't mind me asking, who made that draft class & is it on PS3? Will probably start an offline (no thread though due to studies & other stuff) Association (possibly T-wolves) & want to get some good draft classes. Might get a few years of real ones, then maybe take a look a Dweaver's fake ones.

Btw, if it was me I wouldn't have NLSC draft classes. I just don't think they work well in console Association stories as well as PC ones.

You should go with the real draftees. Easier to follow and more realistic. With 2K10 you don't need to edit them yourself so you should pounce on the opportunity. I agree with X about the NLSC-ers. I'm having them on mine, but thats only because I have a few draft spots I need to fill and I committed myself to the idea.

The X, I will try my best to not disappoint you ;) For the rookie class: It's called "Da Rebirth" or something like that. I don't know how accurate it is in terms of appereance since I dont know the upcoming rookies very well, but the ratings are quite good with the best rookies in the higher 60ies or lower 70ies.

Lamrock, ye I think I will go with the real rookies. I just dont like the idea of NLSC rookies very much as I never did it before.

The busy first day as a GM ...

Image

Officially it was my first day as the Bobcats GM and headcoach and it turned out to be a quite busy one ...
Actually I wanted to check the coaching plans for this week. I definitely needed some contact to the team now with the regular season only being two weeks away. I entered the main entrance of the head office and fetched the latest newspaper as Mrs. Jones ran over with her high heels echoing on the tiled floor of the entrance hall. "Good morning, Mr. Hov! Mr. Brown is already awaiting you in your office. He has an appointment for 9 a.m. but he decided to come early".
Mr. Brown? I felt a bit irritated. Larry Brown? I thought he already got his dismissal. Did MJ not tell me the truth? I didn't want to ask her since I felt so baffled and did not want to show her my lack of information. "Thank you, Mrs. Jones. Would you please bring us some coffee?", I answered businesslike pretending to be in the know.
As I headed to my office many things went through my mind. "I thought he got all his damn money", I mumbled. I was kind of afraid that Larry would be back as a coach and I had to deal with him as the GM.I entered the door.
But the guy who was sitting there was definitely not Larry Brown. It was a dark skinned man with a well shaved beard and a bit of a thick face standing about 6 feet tall. Who the heck is this, I thought as the person noticed my appearance, put his cell phone in his grey suit and stepped in front of me.
"Mr. Hov! Nice to meet you. Finally we get to know each other!", he smiled all over his face. "Aaahm, hello Mr. ... Brown ... you are Mr. Brown? What's your request?, I asked him sceptically. "Did Michael not tell you who I am?", he questioned quite surprised as I definitely pulled a weird face. "My name's Randy Brown, your new co-executive!", he gave me his hand and was still quite delightful about the whole situation whilst I noticed that I just stood in front of a three-time NBA champion and completely embarrassed myself. "Randy Brown?? Oh my god, I just did not recognize you. I'm so sorry", I stumbled. "Nice to meet you. So Michael decided to give us some more ex-Bulls touch?", I tried to sound as delighted as he did. "Oh yes, you are right. He said he had heard that I did a good job in Chicago and when he asked me how I'd like to have more responsibilities on his organization than I had for the Bulls I agreed immediately. But don't get me wrong. I only want to support you on roster transactions, salary issues and scouting. You're the boss", he tried to justify himself as he felt he was too snappy. "Yeye, that's nice, really good to have you here, Randy", I replied already offering him to be on first name terms with each other.
"Okay Chris, I already have important news for you. Actually that is the reason why I am here early. Michael called me this morning. He definitely had something to say. Now listen up ... you won't believe it. The Warriors called him tonight and proposed a big deal. He definitely wanted you to have a look at it", his big eyes were glaring. "I don't know why they call MJ first but I will take care of that later ... but hey don't tantalize me no more, what's the deal!?", he really got me curious. "Okay, now check this out", his eyes just got bigger and bigger, "The Warriors offer us Stephen Jackson and Acie Law in exchange for Vladimir Radmanovic and Raja Bell, how does that sound?", he kept smiling. "Now that is interesting", I said. "Interesting? Interesting? This is THE deal, he can give us the offensive threat we definitely need!", he seemed to have already finalized the deal in his head. "Okay, give me some time to think about it, that one comes a bit fast right now. I have to analyze it", I responded dryly. "Ah okay, whatever you say ...", he seemed to be disappointed a bit. "If you want to call me, here's my number, I will meet with my scouting staff in 20 minutes. I will definitely introduce them to you during the week", he said quietly as he turned around and headed to the door slowly just like I had destroyed his whole big news. "Hey Randy", I said as he turned just a bit and looked in my face. "It's nice to have you around to help me", he just looked back and had a smile on his face as he left the door. Now the pressure was on me. I took the phone and pressed the "1". "Mrs. Jones, would you please connect me with the Warriors' GM, you got that number?" "Okay thanks, and don't forget the coffee, I got work to do ...!".

Good call doing the real-life Bobcats trade in the game. I really like Bell but its a very necessary trade. With Felton expiring at year's end, you should try to groom Acie Law as your full-time backup PG.

I like Acie Law from his Texas A&M days. You need to get rid of Felton so Law can get some backup PG minutes :P

Cool, Da Rebirth is an OS guy. I had read his draft classes were solid. Will give it a look. I think he worked hard on appearances too so they should be alright.

Bobcats land disgruntled Jackson from Golden State

ImageImageImageImage

Charlotte - Oakland, October 20th
The Charlotte Bobcats and the Golden State Warriors have agreed on a deal that sends F Stephen Jackson and G Acie Law to the Bobcats in exchange for F Vladimir Radmanovic and G Raja Bell. The transaction was reviewed by the NBA yesterday and as all players passed the medical tests it is supposed that they will already be on their new teams training sessions by tomorrow.
Jackson, a 6-8 Point Forward was into trouble with Coach Don Nelson as well as some of his teammates for the whole summer. The issues peaked when he demanded a trade in late August. The 9-year veteran holds career averages of 15.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Although not stepping in front of the media yet he is said to be happy with leaving the Warriors. "The Bobcats organization is really looking forward to get a player of his caliber", Cats' new GM Chris Hov stated. Asked wether he thinks the bad rep of Jackson, who is often being declared a "bad boy", would hurt the team the GM and coach in one person only said that "Stephen is pro enough to know that after his trade prayers got answered he just has to step up and show up". There won't be no team cancers on this team as long as I am a coach and I don't consider Stephen one."
Acie Law, who got traded along with "Captain Jack" is considered a steal by many if given enough playing time. The 2-year veteran out of Texas A&M only has career averages of 3.7 points and 1.8 assists in 12.9 minutes per game. After a quite successfull college career he could not translate into the NBA.
For the Warriors this trade was supposed to clear some cap space as well as get rid of moaning Jackson. Raja Bell's contract will expire after the season. The 9-year veteran out of Florida International has career averages of 10.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game and is a .410% three point shooter for his career.
Vlad Radmanovic' contract will also expire after the season. The Serbian 8-year veteran, who holds career averages of 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game will fit as well as Bell as he is a career .38% three point shooter.

No Yao-Mac in Houston 2009

ImageImage

Houston, October 20th
The Houston Rockets will have to pass on their two superstar players for the whole year of 2009 and in terms of Yao maybe for the whole season.
The 7-6 Center is supposed to miss the whole season with a fracture in his foot. "At this point, the injury has the potential for him missing this next season and could be career threatening," team physician Tom Clanton said. The Rockets don't want to rush anything since Yao had been dealing with injuries for his whole career.
With the bad news on Yao the Rockets also stated that Tracy McGrady is also said to miss at least the first three or four months of the season. After knee surgery the NBA topscorer of 2003 and 2004 is already on rehabilitation. The Rockets hope he could be back in December or early January.

Iverson out before it begins, Grizzlies sign Tinsley

ImageImage

Memphis, October 20th
Allen Iverson and the Memphis Grizzlies will part their ways even before the season has begun. After coming off the bench in five of six preseason games and only averaging 14 minutes per game Allen Iverson disappeared in practice and stated that he would not want to come back to the Grizzlies. Iverson is also believed to be dealing with personal issues recently. The 13-year veteran will head into the season as a Free Agent.
After waiving "AI" the Grizzlies announced the signing of Jamaal Tinsley. The 6-3 Points Guard got bought out by the Pacers last season after some heavy twists. Tinsley, who has career averages of 6.1 points and 4.6 assists per game has been dealing with injuries the whole last season and also had to deal with several off-court troubles.
