2nd season news: we are now 20-7 leading up the western conference, but unfortunately, my sidekick lamar odom was traded for mike bibby :( the both of us and the other star rookie teammate (which happens to be a ballhog) are fighting for playing time.. but i guess bibby will not be staying in memphis longer than i expected, since he will be coming off the bench hehe :D

It does for me, as long as it decides that my shot was good shot selection, even if I miss, I get a positive teammate grade for it. It also gives me points for good shot defense even if my opponent scores the basket as long as I contest the shot well.

To get higher grades I've learned that in a game of 28 minutes with at least 8 guys playing, you can't try to be the scorer in every minute, the rebounder, the stealer or the assist guy. Be patient, play the game as you were playing real basketball, pass the ball not just thinking on a assist, post at the moments you think you'll have advantage, move around the court, take "good positioning" jumpers by mobing and finding the right spot to receive the ball... Despite the zillions of bugs I think the teammate grade system works very well, I mean the Insider guy even says about big diesel: "I started to not care about stats the moment I became a NBA champion" or something like that, just play the game and "good things will happen"

I know what you're saying and I'm enjoying the mode BUT I actually think there might be a bug in the game stopping the offer of a 10 day contract or training camp offer being available. Why else would you get cut after an A+ game and then 'resign' on the same team, it just doesn't make any sense.

Might have only scored 18, but we crushed the knicks 103 to 72. I have to say the play system is pretty sweet after all.
Helps me be in a better spot on the floor and improved the way my team mates played as well. Battier had a career high 24 points. And Yao almost had a tripple double.

Well, thing is, imagine a player like Desmond Mason, he's one of the worst shooter in NBA, even if he is open taking a jumper is a bad idea, in fact nba coaches instruct players to encourage Mason to take medium/long range shots, 'case he sucks! So if you are a 43 overall player with bad stats in shooting, taking a jumper is not smart. But if the team rotates the ball, plays with the clock and then you are with the ball, open 3-pointer in 22 seconds... You MUST shoot, if you delivers it, bang, you have more teammate grade...

Ohhh I'm sorry guys, I meant to say that NBA 2k10 does not takes away points of you when you miss, but he gives when you take a good shoot, even if you blow the jumper. sorry. You're right, I've played against Tim Duncan, he scored even when I got a hand in his face, so the game gave me points in teammate for good defense... My whole point posting was that My player mode is not about stats and dominating, if you are a good teammate you'll be rewarded. So, the first step is to learn how to play like a teammate in NBA, feeding the superstars and stuff... Then you gotta work on scoring, rebouding and assisting considering that game you played to get higher grades...

Created a new center and was offered to go to training camp with every team in the NBA, though originally went through the summer league with the Warriors. Set the control down on the desk and turned to the computer to see who might give my guy the best chance of making it into the league, and then for the reason the game itself chose the team for me, the Warriors, and now have to compete on another team which has an established center and trigger happy guards (Curry, Ellis, West etc)

And
special move (ie. double cross) + score *gives double move lead to score.
special move (ie. double cross) + pass + score *
Occasionally it also qualify as highlight, strongly depends on the situation (dunk / alley oop).

Which is not a combo move, however it still helps when you're not that hot during a bad game.

It would qualify as high grade if :
Tipped + Steal + Pass + Score
Tipped + Steal + Score
Tipped + Steal + special move (if defender) + Score

Also add
Block (you) + steal (scrubs) + score (you) = yeahaa!

Score would be anything that leads to make some points. Fast break is a plus too.

Im a 6'5 scorer shooting guard, Alonzo Lewis. Currently 76 overall, playing the 1st season. Avg teammate grade is A+, career high 57 pts vs Mavs.
Summer circuit with the phoenix suns was good and bad. I believe we all play like we would in real life, so it was kind of hard for me in the summer circuit, because I like to create opportunities for my teammates, and since all the players in summer circuit were ~42, they would miss a lot of easy shots :D . And since I sucked as well, I wondered what I could be doing to have a good game. So I came up with the strategy of going inside every time I saw an opportunity and making flashy plays. So I had A+ every game. The best moment of the summer circuit was when I knocked down the game winner fade-away at the buzzer vs the Knicks. That was like the launching path to being an nba superstar. I finished with average grade of A+ in the summer circuit, and there were new grounds to cover.
I couldn't say I wasn't surprised when all of the 30 teams invited me to their training camps, it left a good feeling though. I chose my favorite Miami Heat, I got a chance to play with my idol, D-Wade. The biggest 2 challenges in training camp for me was defending D-Wade and other Miami's SGs, and stamina. Im playing 8 minutes a quarter, and in the training camp we were playing the whole game, so it was hard for me to catch my breath. I was terrible on defense, but my offense made up for it. I averaged 30 pts and 8 ast which resulted in average A+ grade and a ticket to the NBA. I finally got my chance.
The first Nba game was not what I expected. We were playing the knicks, and I played for only a few minutes. We lost 100 something to 140. I felt bad that I couldn't do anything in that game. That was like motivation to play more than my best every game from now on, give 100% every second of playing time. That's what I did, but our team was not doing that good. My minutes increased with every game, but our team was still losing. One of the reasons was that Wade was averaging only 19 pts, but a fact that I was playing for stats was making a big contribution to our negative record. I realized that after about 25 games. What made me realize that? That we were 14th in the East. If I was playing for the Lakers (they were 1st in the west) I don't think I would change my mind. Because I'm a winner, and not getting the w after the buzzer is a knife to the back. As I learned to play for the win, my avg teammate grade has gone up from B- to A+. And as Lewis got better our team got better. Soon I was playing ~39 minutes (shown in rotation) off the bench. I was selected to play in the rookie all star game. I was the MVP, and I was scoring non-stop, as the Rookies destroyed the Sophomores. You don't see that happen often. I had my best game ever so far shortly after the all star break. 57 points snapped Mavs' net. And guess what? 57 is the new scoring record for Miami, also only 3 points shy from Wilt Chamberlain's rookie scoring record (60). With 20 games remaining in the season Miami was finally competing for the spot in the playoffs. Alonzo has really established himself between the big boys- I was a highflyer, good shooter, pretty good defender on the outside. We finished the season in 6th spot in the conference (46-36), after having an 11 game winning streak at the end of the season. My player won the Rookie of the year and Sixth man of the year awards, averaging 21 pts, 6 ast, 3 rbs and 1.3 stl a game. We just won the game 1 of the 1st round vs the Hawks. Alonzo finally got a chance to start and didn't let the Heat down- 24 pts, 8 ast, 4 rbs, 2 stl. I was the Jordan player of the game as Miami now leads the series 1-0.
My best ratings are: Dunk 85| Layup 85| Shot Medium 92| Shot 3pt 90|Steal 80| ball handling 81. Yes, I'm a machine on offense :D . I hope my story will motivate you who are struggling to play to win as it's the only way to be successful as an individual. And here is Alonzo posterizing Bell :D :

May be a bit of a weird tip. But turn off the announcers. I have the pa loudest, then player chatter followed by sound effects and crowd. If I have the announcers on I get distracted by them. Instead of playing ball, I end up listening to the game. Might only be me, but thought that I should mention.

So, is D Wade getting alot of minutes? I am also on Miami and they rotate me and D Wade as starters at SG. I play alot of SF, too, and sometimes PF, although I get abused with post up plays the moment they put me there. Funny thing, the same thing happens to my CAP in Dynasty mode when playing Live 10.

Wade is playing 45 and I'm playing 40 (if I played 12 mins, I play 8). They start me as SG and Dwyane as SF now, but through the course of the game I usually play as SF when Wade's on the court. I get to play as SG when Wade is put to play PG. I don't care if I'm playing SG or SF because my play style is pretty much the same anyway, it's more like who you get to guard :D

i finally finish the whole season.... winning a championship ring, Season MVP, Final MVP, Rookie of the Year...

man i almost won the most defensive player...im at 2nd spot "ben wallace beat me"

i started my second season and play the first game with the boston :)

--------

and i create a new SF 6'9 i discover something cool...

SF 6'9 can do standing dunks like Dwight Howard... even if my standing dunk is 25... then i created 6'8 SF just to compare it.... the dunk set are different... i cant do standing dunk at 6'8

i manage to reach my dunk to 80...with (rimgazer set) then my 6'9 SF can use Tomahawk Flair, Windmill Power and every speciality dunks... and the good thing i can do standing dunks too... WOW best of both worlds... can do close quarter dunk and i can do running dunk too... cool!!!!!

try yourselves too :)

Me, i made an athletic SF 6'7, playing for indiana pacers, and currently stuck in the playoffs with the boston celtics at 74... Hey, do u knw why i can't seem to move to the finals after beating boston celetics for four times in a row? so probably it was a 4-0. Then after the game, when i looked at the playoffs tree, the standing was still 0-0. and now, i'm stuck in the eastern finals... damn.. HELP ME!!

So the rockets beat the nuggets and I am happy since the lakers lost to the jazz. But since Ming Yao got injured on diving for a ball. I am the pointguard. I was averaging almost 35 points as a shooting guard. And now we are down ten points because I don't know how to play pg. Thanks whichever asshole at 2k who is responsible for this.
We win in over time 87 - 85.

i love being pg because i can run the offense smoothly than a cpu...damn pg...
just pass an open man inside you will get assist everytime..., or drive and pass in the air...just read the defense and set your plan... a pg have the decision to pass if you find an open guys and score if you cant find anything... having good scoring and good assist will give you better skill points than just pure scoring, better if you can get rebound too.. or maybe triple double...
