how to make a team that has its own art files

Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

how to make a team that has its own art files

Postby brad09390939 on Mon Sep 28, 2009 12:21 am

i use BAYAG,paxson's patch to make my own retro team.

but there has some problem.

when i finish making champion teams,i'm start making some teams i like,

for example,04 dallas,04 wolf,00 blazer,06 suns.ect.

but now some of the teams have new jersey,new court,even new logo(2001 sixer )

so my retro teams also connect the new jersey,logo.

that wasn't real at all !!

so i want to change the retro teams' "teamabr2""teamabr4"to let them has their own

art files.

but i don't know what i should do with changing the art files name.

for example, dallas's teamabr2 is "da" teamabr4 is"dall"

so i change 04 dallas' teamabr2 from"da"to "dm" change teamabr4 from "dall"to "dama"

but there doesn't complete,i should change dallas' art files name

but i don't know the whole process.

can someone tell me?

just like '02 king in BAYAG's patch,it has its own art files.

so now 09~10 king has new jersey,but '02 king still has its old jersey!

please help me!

Hi Brad,

From what I understand, you're trying to merge artwork from different patches. As I wrote in the other post, I'M NOT AN EXPERT about this stuff! BTW, you're really tenacious and - trust me - I'd really like to help you if only I could!!! The only thing I can say is that renaming the artwork is only a small part; I guess you've got to install Andrew's updated rosters first and then inserting the teams you like most one by one following the tutorials in the wiki section... In addition it's probable that .dbf editing won't be enough, and you'll need some editors to open the artwork files... In short: it's possible but it won't be an easy task...

Just one thing... have a look at this post: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=61418&hilit=superchange#p985190 It seems that one guy from Taipei (from what I've understood you're from China...) succeeded to do achieve your same goal in an older NBA Live... Try to ask him! :wink:

I wish you good luck, hoping that you'll be able to find that guy and some useful tips from him...

You will need to change the name of the FSH files to match the DBF entries.
Example -

teamabr4 = dall
fsh = dallhome.fsh, dallaway.fsh, etc

teamabr4 = dama
fsh = damahome.fsh, damaaway.fsh, etc.

You will also have to do this with jersey preview files, which will require copying a teams .BIG fiels and then changing the abbreviations to match your new team, and using a hex editor to change the abbreviations that are at the end of the ebo file.

Example -

Extract the jerseys~da~da_away.big and make sure all the files inside are uncompressed using bigGUI or Dolffin Live.

change to jerseys~dm~dm_away.big
open it with biggui, click on a file once to select it, and then another time to edit it's name.
-da_away.fsh to dm_away.fsh

Do that for the APT, CONST, and EBO files, too.

Extract the EBO file.

Open the EBO file with a hex editor and scroll to the very bottom. You should notice some text that looks like this-

Geometry..da_away10.da_away13.da_away16.da_away1..da_away19.da_away22.da_away25.da_away28.da_away34.da_away4..da_away7..

Change all the "da" to "dm" and save the EBO file. You can also do this after making a copy for a different jersey, by changing the "away" to whatever the other jersey is called, like "home" or "serd", etc.

Save the EBO file and reimport it into the BIG file.

If you have done the above steps correctly and imported your new art and have all files in the sgsm directory, the only reason for the art to show up incorrectly would be if there is an error in your DBF file.

I don't understand the following way :

""Extract the EBO file.

Open the EBO file with a hex editor and scroll to the very bottom. You should notice some text that looks like this-

Geometry..da_away10.da_away13.da_away16.da_away1..da_away19.da_away22.da_away25.da_away28.da_away34.da_away4..da_away7..

Search google for a free hex editor, download it and run it.

jersey preview .BIG file from Live 07/fe/jerseys.viv
Extract/Export the BIG file you want to use for your jersey preview(it's important to choose a jersey that has a similar number position)
Extract/Export the EBO file from the BIG file and open it in the hex editor.

Yes. If those entries are inside the file, not just the file's name, then you need to hex edit them. It ONLY needs to be done to EBO files, I think. Maybe the APT files, too. I don't remember.
