Additional Release Notes

  • All sixty draftees are included. Those that do not appear on the roster of the team that currently holds their draft rights appear in the Free Agent pool.

  • This is the first draft of the rookie ratings. Obviously there is a lot of guesswork because they haven't played in the NBA yet aside from some summer league appearances. Feedback is most welcome, but let's be mature and constructive about it. If something looks wrong or I've made a mistake with a dunk package, don't get over-excited; please just point it out so I can make the necessary corrections.

  • The same goes for returning players. This post-Draft update has been about getting the new rookies in and some other things up to date, but I certainly still want feedback on all player ratings and if there's someone I need to take a look at, please let me know.

  • This year, I've moved prominent players who are free agents to the Free Agents pool. So I haven't taken David Lee or Nate Robinson out of the game, they're just in the Free Agents pool until they re-sign with the Knicks or sign somewhere else. Same goes with other free agents, but those two are a good example.

  • Most of the draftees have real faces but about 17 or so still do not. Same goes for other players. For those who don't know, I don't make face updates so this is an area where I have to rely on the talent and generousity of the community. If you'd like to contribute art, please see this thread for a list of art still needed.

  • Now that the rosters are out, I expect I'll be able to do some regular offseason updates. I don't have a timetable in place as yet but during the season I try to release new updates at least every 2-3 weeks, so that's probably what I'll do in the offseason as well. If there's a flurry of trades I might have to do some releases closer together.

That's about it! Feedback is, as always, most welcome. I hope you enjoy the post-Draft rosters!

Wow! That's fast, considering that you mentioned early in the week that it'll be released soon, but I didn't expect it to be this fast... (Y)

I wanted to make sure I'd given myself enough time once I reached a certain point in the latest updates. I'm glad to say I truly got ahead of schedule. :)

Another note, there's not a lot of extras in this update as I just wanted to get a stable post-Draft version out. I'm certainly all for continuing to develop the PC Project with more enhancements (more jersey updates, custom accessories etc).

so incredibly AWESOME! (there goes my weekend!) - thx andrew :D

:?: do you know if you can install the update directly over the previous ver or is it best to start with a virgin copy of Live '06 (ie. fresh install from the box?) - thx again!

I installed it over my current and everything works.
Thanks Andrew for the patch!

Although, as I went to play Toronto VS Portland, the game crashed. Any ideas why this occurred?

It's definitely fine to install it over the top of previous versions. It'll just overwrite what's already there.

I'll check out Toronto vs Portland but that's really strange that it crashed.

Hey Andrew, Sheed's legs are a bit too dark. It doesn't match with the color of his upper body. I hope u can fix it :)

Maybe you some conflicting patches in your sgsm folder. I also encountered a game crash last night when I played the Celtics VS Wizards. What I did was, I reinstalled the Wizards court patch and everything went fine :D

Great work!
But I found a small error in Jordan Farmars Portrait. In the ebo he was named jofarme instead of jofarma, I fixed it and put a new made portrait for Derrick Brown in the same folder.

Bye the way D.J. Augustines colour might should be changed from 3 to 2.

There's only one attribute for skin colour which applies to both the upper and lower body so it can't be the rosters themselves, so it's not something that I can fix (as I've mentioned to you before, I don't make player art updates). However, the only reason you should get an issue like that is if you've got a problematic tattoo update for Rasheed Wallace installed; if so, I'd suggest removing rawalla_artm_tat.fsh or rawalla_leg_tat.fsh (or both) from your sgsm folder and see how it looks.

Thanks man, it worked :D I did used fumanchu's leg gear, maybe that was the one who's causing Sheed's dark leg color.

I was wondering if it were possible to get the Portland Trail Blazers court updated. It hasn't ever been updated to what it is now. The coloring in the key is wrong and a few other things are wrong as well.

Thanks!

MIA: Patrick Beverly
NY: Chris Hunter
IND: AJ Price
LA: Chinemelu Elony
HOU: James White
HOU: Jermaine Taylor
POR: Patrick Mills

Q:
I wonder if it's the player patch I'm using, or is Russell Westbrooks face much darker than his body by accident?

great release Andrew! i'm downloading it now. one question though, you mentioned that more or less 17 rookies don't have real faces yet, does this mean they will have a pink head?

^^No, we will be seeing generic faces for those players. Just check the 2008 section regularly and you can download CF packs for the rookies.

Thanks for the new portraits.

The issue with Westbrook is that the face - originally made for NBA Live 08 - uses a custom skin tone. Since that file doesn't work with 06, I've had to leave it out.

Why is Brandon Jenning's 3point shooting at the 20's? I taught he has a good touch from three point range? and the dunking percentage of johnny flynn is way to low.. but other than that the whole package was worth the wait.. great work andrew! thank you for keeping nba live on pc worth playing..

I originally set that low because his three point percentages are rather low for a point guard (less than 30%). However, I have amended them for the next release and it's something I'll watch out for once he makes his NBA debut.
