Toronto had 12 of their 22 free throws in the first quarter alone, most of which came from Chris Bosh, who managed to get Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki in early foul trouble. Dirk was saddled for most of the game with foul trouble and was played sparingly for the majority of the game.
"I honestly could not believe some of the calls that were made during the first quarter," said a very upset Nowitzki, referring to the two quick fouls that he picked up less than 2 minutes into the game and picking up another two quick fouls as soon as re-entered the game in late in the second quarter. "Those ridiculous calls really cost us the game."
The Raptors took advantage of the Mavericks lack of an inside presence and gave the Mavs an early 32-19 pounding despite shooting just below 40% from the field. The poor play from Dallas continued throughout the entire game as Dallas' players looked disinterested after their star player went out. "We got the short end of the stick in the early going," said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. "We didn't fight through the adversity and gave up."
Things went from bad to worse as Dallas' leading scorer Josh Howard was injured at the 7:23 mark of the fourth quarter just as Dallas was attempting to make their run. Dallas was left short-handed as they had no other offensive threats on the floor other than Jason Terry, who tried to put the team on his back as he scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the third to keep the game from completely slipping away to a 20 point deficit.

Chuck Terrell got things done on the other end of the court as well, racking up a total of 3 steals.Notes:-Reggie Evans suffered a sprained finger with 5:36 left to play in the fourth quarter after attempting to block an Antoine Wright lay-up. The Raptors' medical staff indicated that Evans could potentially miss at least 2 weeks because of the injury
-Dirk Nowitzki's struggles this game serves tell the story for the off-year that he has been having. The agile 7 footer has been averaging 16.5 points per game on 42% shooting from the field while also shooting just 29% from three.
-This marks Quincy Douby's first game played all season.
-The Mavericks came into this game with a three game winning streak.

The Raptors seemed to learn from the Mavericks mistake though, and they remained competitive throughout the rest of the game by playing their high-tempo weak-defense oriented basketball - a style that the Spurs managed to replicate with ease.
In a game that featured numerous lead changes (8 of them in a highly competitive third quarter), the Spurs however showed off why they are such a lauded dynasty in NBA basketball and clamped down on defense when it mattered. The Raptors were down 95-91 with only 1:24 left to play, but were held scoreless until the end of the game due to turnovers and poor shot selection.
"We lost our composure at the very end of the game," Andrea Bargnani said, who finished the game with a team high 23 points in an attempt to counteract Bosh's poor performance. "They showed why they are contenders this season by playing very well on offense and getting stops when it mattered the most."

Manu Ginobili showed why he is an MVP candidate by closing out the game with crucial back to back buckets at the end of the game.Notes:-San Antonio has returned back to championship contender form this season. The Spurs have become a well-rounded and unselfish offensive juggernaught (leading the league in points and assists) while also getting it done on the defensive end by leading the league in steals as well.
-All-Star acquisition Richard Jefferson has been struggling to get acclimated into the Spurs' offensive system, scoring only 12.9 points per game. "I'm not worried about my touches," Jefferson said. "As long as we can come in here and get the W that's all that matters at this point."
-Spurs' guard Roger Mason Jr. was on the Raptors for a few seasons but was cut from their roster to make room for Milt Palacio.

4-14*Click on the logos for boxscores*Terrell and Toronto Give Grizz a Thrashing (110-90 Raptors)December 5, 2009The worst team in the league certainly looked like it as the Raptors gave the Memphis Grizzlies a brutal beatdown for 48 minutes. The Raptors' offensive attack was led mostly by Jose Calderon, giving the Grizzlies' fits all game long with his passing and shooting ability. Calderon ran circles around opposing point guard Mike Conley Jr., scoring 15 points to go along with 15 assists. Conley on the other hand simply could not keep up in the point guard department, going 6 of 15 from the field in addition to his 7 turnovers.
The Grizzlies did get a glimpse of the near future though. O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay scored 31 and 23 points respectively, serving as the only bright spots for the Grizzlies this game. "It's frustrating to consistently put up the numbers that I've put up and still have our team lose," said an exasperated Mayo.
Many who were expecting an entertaining rookie match-up were disappointed as well. Priest Askins, the number one overall pick of the draft and the Western Conference Player of the Week played against Chuck Terrell, who was the third overall pick of the draft and the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time this season. Terrell outplayed his rookie counter-part greatly, showing off his overall game with 24 points 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Askins on the other hand struggled, scoring only 4 points.

The rookies of the month battled it out with Terrell coming out on top.Notes:-This extends the Grizzlies' losing streak to three games. They have also won only 1 in their last nine games.
-Memphis' field goal percetage is the lowest in the NBA sitting at 41%.
-Marcus Banks did not see any action, even during garbage time when Jay Triano emptied his bench. Banks was activated from the inactive list in Toronto's previous game against San Antonio.

The game reared its ugly head though, as the Raptors failed to close out Indiana and let the game slip away.
"We didn't play with a sense of urgency, that was the bottom line of it," said an irate Jay Triano. "We could have won this game but we just neglected executing the game plan."
The Pacers maintained a 5 to 6 point lead for most of the game until the fourth quarter when Marion scored six consecutive points by himself to give Toronto it's first lead of the game, 73-72. When things began to swing in Toronto's favour, Toronto could not pull away as former Raptor T.J. Ford took over the game much to the mismay of the fans at the ACC. The score was eventually tied 95 apiece with 49 seconds remaining. Mike Dunleavy's hot shooting helped propel the Pacers over the hump in the final minutes as he knocked down a three pointer to give the Pacers a 98-95 edge. Jose Calderon attempted to answer back with a jumper of his own but was fouled in the process. Calderon's free throw struggles this season didn't seem evident here as he nailed both of them calmly with 26 seconds remaining. The Raptors were still down by two though, and they needed one last stop before they could go for the game winner. That didn't happen as Dunleavly recieved a pass from Danny Granger in the dying seconds of the shot clock to bury yet another three ball to put the game out of reach with 2.4 seconds remaining. The Raptors missed their three point attempt at the other end, as frustrated Raptor fans quickly emptied the stadium.

T.J. Ford got the last laugh against his former team.Notes:-Indiana is the second worst team in the league followed by Memphis. They are currently 2-8 in the last ten games.
-Pacers guard Jarrett Jack was actually Bosh's roommate during his freshman year at Georgia Tech.
-Former fan favourite Rasho Nesterovic was rumoured to re-sign with Toronto in the off-season but elected to re-sign with Indiana after offering a multi year deal for him.

9-13*Click on the logos for boxscoresDuhon's Career High Carries Knicks to a Victory (117-113 Knicks) December 9, 2009The Raptors helped the New York Knicks snap a six game losing streak in this overtime loss. Although it was clear that Chris Duhon was the one who dominated the game as seen by his near triple double and career-high 36 point performance, it was Wilson Chandler and David Lee and stepped it up when the Knicks needed crucial baskets down the stretch.
Toronto on the other hand simply had a disappointing fourth quarter meltdown that led the Knicks right back into the game. "We had the lead going down the stretch but we couldn't defend some of the big shots that they made down stretch," Andrea Bargnani said. Bargnani stuffed the stat sheet this game with a 27 and 15 point performance. 19 of his 27 points were from the first two quarters though, fading away as the game winded down.
With only 2:10 left to go, the Raptors had a solid 95-87 lead and the game appeared to be a victory for Toronto. However, the Raptors allowed Gallinari and Chandler to hit three pointers while Bosh and Calderon carelessly turned the ball over consecutively. Chuck Terrell was then fouled and hit both of his free throws to help the Raptors keep their distance but the Knicks kept coming. David Lee then capitalized on the Raptors misforunes once again by slamming it home after a communication break down on a pick and roll. Bosh missed an easy jumper from the corner and Duhon made him pay by nailing a three pointer as the Knicks were now shockingly on top, 99-97. Luckily for the Raptors, Calderon swished a tough mid range jumper just as time expired to send it to overtime.
Overtime mirrored the fourth quarter as well. Toronto had a 111-104 lead in the extra period when of all a sudden that 7 point lead evaporated into a 3 point lead. Duhon, Lee and Chandler all scored unanswered baskets as the Raptors let another winnable game slip away.

Duhon simply loves to play against Toronto.Notes:-Duhon has averaged 32.5 points per game against the Raptors thus far in the season.
-This game was a pivotal one for the Knicks, who as of right now are in 9th place in the Eastern Conference. The Washingotn Wizards currently sit at 8th with an 11-11 record while the Raptors are 7th.
-The Knicks are currently the third best offensive rebounding team in the league.

Chuck TerrellThere's no doubt that Chuck Terrell has had played better weeks for the Raptors, but due to the fact that no one on the team has really played consistently this week we thought that the rook out of USC should finally deserve the honour. Terrell has scored 15+ points in four of the five games this week - two of which were 20 point games. Pretty impressive considering his role and minute are relegated to off the bench due to Shawn Marion. Another aspect that has been getting some notice is Terrell's passing ability. Chuck's had some pretty nice games this week where he's shown that he can do a lot more than score on the offensive end.
