Lakers retract offer to Odom

I seriously don't get how people can scoff at 9 million a season...I realise he was getting 14 million last season but seriously....you're on the team that are the champions.....if I was him I'd just want to keep winning.
People say that its a business but yeah, who's not gonna be able to live on 9 million in a year? I guess I don't get it because my whole family has to live off like less than 1% of that.....its seriously crazy the amount of money they get, lol.

To be fair, with the tax bracket he's in he's not really getting $9 million a year and there's also the concept of fair value compared to other NBA salaries. If he's seeking a five year contract, it might be the long term security rather than a bigger annual salary as well.

The rockets could sign Odom, in return for giving away artest.

looks like odom will no re-sign with the lakers and if the lakers don't get a good free agent they will have a hard season next year

The lakers still have some great players in their team, Kobe, Gasol, Artest!!!

They will easily make it into the playoffs.

They'll still have Kobe, Gasol, Artest, Bynum, and Fisher along with a couple of other players who can get the job done off the bench like Farmar and Vujacic (despite his struggles at times). Losing Odom is a blow, but they could be in much worse shape.

Well they were wrong. Odom is nothing like Shaq, Odom is a pure #2 (or#3) while Shaq is a pure #1 (SHAQ adapting to being a #2 lately)

Odom is great player for Lakers but if he signs then there will be numerous Odom bloopers He loses it sometimes.

Lamar Odom will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, coming to terms on a $40 million contract over four years, according to sources close to the forward.

The deal will likely be consummated when owner Dr. Jerry Buss returns from vacation in Hawaii.

Sources close to Lamar Odom have told BSO that Odom will resign with the Lakers.

Odom will sign a 4 year 40 million dollar contract to stay with the champs.

The change of heart came after Lamar reached out to Dr. Jerry Buss. The two of them spoke yesterday where they were able to reach an agreement.

*UPDATE*

Once again sources close to Lamar Odom are insisting a deal is done and is just waiting for Dr. Buss to sign off on it.

There has been reports there is no deal on the table and there are no neogiations ongoing.

But there was in fact a 3 year deal worth 30 million that was turned down Odom recently.

The only hold up is will Dr. Buss sign off on 4 year deal or will Odom accept 3 year deal.

We will have to wait and see how it all shakes out, but I would be shocked if Lamar Odom is does not resign with the Lakers.
