Valor, Thanks man. I just use a camera phone. I'm using a big flatscreen TV this time though, so its pretty easy. With the Hawks they looked like shit because I had a lame old TV.

Martti., Haha, yep. Filling KG's shoes right there with quantity over quality.

Clutch, Good to see you Clutch! Glad you like it and that you're back on the forums. Good to see you in control of my Blazers. ;)

thierryhenry50, I think he will. He's still pretty young and has all the physical tools to do so. He's gonna be the franchise player soon.

My thoughts exactly.

Nice update as usual. Ellis and Randolph have been pretty consistent... and they look like zombies in the picture with CP3! And staying on topic with look-alikes, is it just me, or does that picture of Jordan Hill look like Michael Strahan with nigerian braids?

Warriors Report: Dec. 10-Dec. 19

December 20, 2009, 2:23 AM - Golden State faced a very very difficult week, but managed to break even. It opened with a loss in Lakerland, but at least it was fairly close... They then won a surprisingly low-scoring, defense-oriented game against the Hawks. Despite blowing a 19 point lead, the Warriors defeated the Knicks easily after that. Golden State finished the month by losing by a dozen in Denver, with Carmelo Anthony exploding for 45. They now have a 15-11 record, with four games left in 2009.

This week was all Anthony Randolph, who averaged 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds, netting a team-high 10 Nelliepoints. Randolph is continuing to break out, and is looking more and more like the Big Ticket. Not to mention, he's only twenty and still growing! Monta Ellis had a decent week, save for a poor performance in Denver. Ricky Rubio split minutes with Steve Nash, and outplayed his mentor slightly. Rudy Fernandez averaged 10 points off the bench, while Stephen Jackson has scored when we needed him to, and was a playmaker when we needed him to. Right now, the team has been working well, and has a great system going. Right now, the team is not a contender, but I'm inclined to believe that just letting this core mature will get us to that next level.

Golden State 104 @ Los Angeles Lakers 113 - Nobody really expected the Warriors to defeat the Lakers in Staples Center - and they didn't. However, after a recent drubbing by the Lakers, the Warriors came back and gave the defending champs a scare. The game was kept close in the first half, with the score being 56-53 in Golden State's favor. After three periods, it was tied. Unfortunately, X-Factor Sasha Vujacic scored 12 of his season high 17 today, and the Lakers broke away to win it 113-104. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 33 points and 8 rebounds. After the game, Kobe said "You can't sleep on the Warriors this year. That Randolph kid is amazing, and Monta is like that Agent Zero cat."
Player Of The Game: Kobe Bryant (33 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals) | Nelliepoints: 1. Ellis (19/3/4); 2. Randolph (16/9/2); 3. Rubio (11/2/8)
RECORD: 13-10

Atlanta 87 @ Golden State 92 - It was retro jersey night, and the fans were treated to some vintage basketball. Atlanta dominated the first quarter 30-18. The Warriors came back, and surprisingly did so with their defense, outscoring Atlanta 24-13 in the second period. A 17-5 run mid-third quarter gave Golden State a nine point lead, however, a pair of Joe Johnson threes cut that to three. The final period was another grind-it-out session, but thanks to Anthony Randolph's beastly game, they were able to pull out the win. After the game, Don Nelson said "I think tonight we proved that we can play D. People say we can't compete with the Clevelands or San Antonios of the league, but I disagree" the Nellieball architect said.
Player Of The Game: Anthony Randolph (18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists) | Nelliepoints: 1. Randolph (18/12/2); 2. Jackson (21/5/1); 3. Ellis (17/2/6)
RECORD: 14-10

New York 104 @ Golden State 112 - The Warriors expected to take a dump on reinstated starting Center Eddy Curry and the New York Knicks. And for the first three quarters, thats what they did. 8 point lead became 13 point lead became 19 point lead going into the fourth. With eight minutes left, the starters were put on the bench, and the reserves were left to finish the game. Bad idea. The Knicks used a 22-6 run to come within 3 points with a minute left. Steve Nash came back in the game, and instantly hit a three. Game over. The Warriors coasted to victory over the terrible New York Knicks from there, 112-104. Mike D'Antoni on the loss: "Well shit..." He was fined $5,000.
Player Of The Game: Monta Ellis (24 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds) | Nelliepoints: 1. Ellis (24/4/5); 2. Randolph (15/12/2); 3. Nash (14/4/9)
RECORD: 15-10

Golden State 90 @ Denver 102 - Carmelo Anthony scored 45 points, and naturally, the Nuggets defeated the Warriors in Pepsi Center yet again. Denver had control for the whole game, amassing a 7 point lead in the first quarter, and never letting go. Monta Ellis had an off-game, but even with his weakest line of the month, he still managed to score a Nelliepoint. The Warriors played as if the game was already over all night, and it was a wonder they only lost by a dozen. This loss dropped the Warriors into a tie for sixth place in the West. After the game, Monta Ellis played down the defeat, saying "At least it wasn't an ESPN game", he said. Little did he know, it was.
Player Of The Game: Carmelo Anthony (45 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) | Nelliepoints: 1. Randolph (16/8/2); 2. Jackson (16/4/3); 3. Ellis (12/4/4)
RECORD: 15-11

Glad to see someone else sees the Garnett comparison when it comes to Randolph. I was pretty surprised to see Ellis run away with the NelliePoints standings as much as he did, even though I would've expected him to come up on top in those standings.

THE ANTHONY RANDOLPH NICKNAME CONTEST!

Anthony Randolph is a beast, and it looking more and more like the next KG every day. However, despite his recent all-star caliber play, he is still being called stupid things like "AR" and "AR4". Real creative. Isn't it about time he gets a nickname? Randolph, a 6'11", 220 lb power forward, is the front-runner for most improved player, a potential all-star and is averaging 16.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game on 52% shooting.

In this contest, you get to decide Randolph's nickname. The person with the best nickname will receive 10 points for the competition, the runner-up will get 5, third place will get 3 and everyone who participates will get 1. Anthony Randolph needs your help. Give him a nickname to be proud of!

Contest Info:

First Place: 10 points/nickname used
Second Place: 5 points
Third Place: 3 points
Participation bonus: 1 point

Deadline: End of in-game 2009 (a few days from now)

I read somewhere that one of his nicknames (in real life) was Slim, and adding on the KG comparisons....KG is the Big ticket, so AR is the Slim Ticket :P

Getting some good names coming in as expected. I may need to get some third-party judges as well. The more the merrier - keep posting entries! You can have as many as you like.

By the way, this thread recently got up to 2000 views. This dynasty has been my least popular in terms of views, but most popular in terms of replies - I like replies so I'll take it. (Y)

Warriors Report: Dec. 20-Dec. 31

January 1, 2010; 3:53 AM - Happy new year everybody! The Warriors finished the year strong, posting another 3-1 week, and finishing with an 18-12 record, on pace for 49 wins. The game week started with the Warriors destroying the Jazz at home. Anthony Randolph outplayed Zach Randolph, and Monta Ellis dropped 25. They then followed it up with a thrilling overtime victory against the surprising Memphis Grizzlies - yet another exciting battle in the season series. They won their third straight and improved to a very impressive 18-11 with an upset victory over the Thunder, who have been slumping since making some noise earlier this year. The year ended with a disappointing, but expected loss in San Antonio, but our Warriors are still in a great position entering the new year, holding the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

Monta Ellis has continued to be the team's leading scorer, but Anthony Randolph's excellent play has led to a meteoric rise in the Nelliepoints standings. Ellis ended up coming in first place yet again this month, but it was by a mere 2 points. Both Ellis and Randolph are looking to make all-star appearances this year. Steve Nash recovered from a couple off weeks to show Ricky Rubio who's boss. The Andris Biedrins-Joel Przybilla center tandem has worked well so far. Rudy Fernandez has scored an efficient ten points a game off the bench. Darko has been terrible. Finally, Captain Jack has adjusted well to being the third option, and is living up to the perfect teammate title that Tim Duncan gave to him years ago.

Image Image

Utah 90 @ Golden State 107 - The Jazz have been horrible this season. After losing all three of their good big men in the offseason (Boozer, Millsap and Okur), the Jazz made a panic move, trading AK-47 for Zach Randolph. The result is a sub-.250 record. The Warriors wrecked havoc on the team that ended their 2007 playoff run, destroying the Jazz in every facet of the game. Deron Williams scored 31 points, but it didn't matter, as the rest of the Jazz sucked. Monta Ellis played just 27 minutes, but dropped a team-high 25 points in the victory. Jerry Sloan after the game: "I f***ing hate this team. Especially Zach" He was fined $10,000 and suspended with pay for a game.
Player Of The Game: Monta Ellis (25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) | Nelliepoints: 1. Ellis (25/5/5); 2. Randolph (16/14/3); 3. Jackson (20/5/6)
RECORD: 16-11

Memphis 119 @ Golden State 121 [OT] - What a game. The season opened with the Grizz upsetting Golden State, winning by just one point. Both teams have been surprising success stories since then, with both in the playoff picture after awful 2008-09 seasons. This game looked like it was going to be a wash with Golden State up thirteen at the half. The third period saw a 21-4 Memphis run to get the road team back in the game. The Grizzlies ended up with a 109-106 lead with 5.4 seconds remaining in regulation. Stephen Jackson got the ball, and it was deja vu from the two teams' last meetings. Everyone in the Oracle held their breaths, then something amazing happened: He passed it to the open Steve Nash, who sunk a buzzer-beater three. The Warriors used that momentum to dominate overtime. Thehy had a seven-point lead with 32 seconds left. The Grizzlies actually made a pair of lucky threes in a last-ditch comeback effort, but it wasn't enough, as the Warriors escaped with the win, 121-119. The season series is 1-1, with the average point differential being the Warriors by half a point. "Do I smell rivalry?", Warriors commentator Jim Fayer quipped after the game.
Player Of The Game: Steve Nash (19 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds) | Nelliepoints: 1. Nash (19/4/11); 2. Randolph (16/13/2); 3. Jackson (23/2/4)
RECORD: 17-11

Image Image

Golden State 101 @ Oklahoma City 89 - The Warriors entered Oklahomo City with something to prove. they were crushed in their last visit, but were tied for fourth place in the West, making this a crucial game for position. The Thunder got out to a hot start, winning the first quarter 30-23 behind MVP candidate Kevin Durant's 12 points. Golden State turned the tied in the second, using a flurry of threes to build a small lead. Ben Gordon could not buy a shot all night, and it was like his 6-19 shooting performance that prevented his team from ever getting back in the game, as the Warriors cruised to their third straight win. Don Nelson on the win: "I thought we really took control of the game when Andris slid to the 1, and Ricky to the 4. The Thunder just couldn't handle our mismatches and we capitalized."
Player Of The Game: Monta Ellis (24 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds) | Nelliepoints: 1. Ellis (25/7/7); 2. Biedrins (15/16/3); 3. Randolph (21/8/2)
RECORD: 18-11

Golden State 89 @ San Antonio 102 - If the Warriors face the Spurs in the playoffs, they won't be winning a title. Tim Duncan and company continue to have the Warriors number, as they shut down the Bay Area's team, winning 102-89. Anthony Randolph was solid, but the Big Fundamental was better. The game was fairly even in the first half, but San Antonio outscored Golden State 54-38 in the second half to win it. On the bright side, Manu Ginobili was somehow held scoreless, though he did have 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Gregg Popovich became public enemy #1 on Warrior message boards when he criticized them, saying "Its a joke that anybody thinks that their no-defense gimmick gameplan is going to get them anywhere. They may be the NBA's darlings now, but they won't last long come playoff time."
Player Of The Game: Tim Duncan (25 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks) | Nelliepoints: 1. Randolph (16/8/2); 2. Jackson (16/4/3); 3. Ellis (12/4/4)
RECORD: 18-12

Nelliepoints Standings:
December:
Ellis: 24
Randolph: 22
Jackson: 11

Nash: 6
Rubio: 4
Biedrins: 3
Fernandez: 2

Overall:
Ellis: 59
Randolph: 38
Jackson: 32

Nash: 20
Rubio: 7
Biedrins: 7
Fernandez: 2

Pacific Division Standings:
Lakers 21-9 | GB: 0

Pretty good week, you beat the teams you were supposed to beat. Wow, it looks like the Jazz are in la-la land as they blew up the core of their bigs while acquiring Zach Randolph... Oh the things that 2k9 is capable of.
