yeah, they had some great games, but so far, they are not consistent enough for me to play them major minutes just yet, especially Patty Mills...that's why i brought in Bobby Jackson

Thanks man, well, the schedule wasn't treating me very well, i was against the Lakers (defending champs..) twice, and Phoenix Suns (who are now one of the best teams in the league with a Nash, Richardson, Howard, Griffin, Stoudemire lineup and Grant hill, Barbosa, and Jrue Holiday etc on the bench), but the loss to the Knicks and Pacers were a bit disappointing..but yeah, hopefully things improve in the regular season

you have two choices...
1. edit the prospects yourself and use the iff files that he provided via the editor
or
2. use the association file that he provided, and put the iff files in your 2k9 folder, change to whatever team you want

Vince Carter at it again.... Man he loves those long range buzzer beaters. (I'm a Raptor fan, so I'd know a thing or two about Vince Carter nailing game winning shots)

Your rookie is doing good. Wait till I enter the NBA

yeah, i was lucky that one went in though...i didn't want to go into overtime so i had to get a 3 up...Carter caught the ball so far out...i had doubts whether it was gonna go, but lucky for me it did

Carter, Harris lifts New Jersey to Season Opener Victory
October 29th 2009
East Rutherford, N.J
It was the 2009/10 season opener at home for the New Jersey Nets, and there was no way that Nets' dynamic backcourt duo. Vince Carter and Devin Harris would let the Nets lose in front of their home crowd.
Carter and Harris combined for 47 points as the Nets narrowly defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 99-95 in their season opener at home in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Carter had 26 points from 7 for 22 shooting, while Devin Harris had 21 points from 7 for 14 shooting from the field, Harris also added in 8 assists and 3 steals to take home the Jordan Player of the Game honors.
The Nets fell behind late in the second quarter, in which a 17-8 run from the 76ers gave them a 48-45 lead at the half, the two teams were neck to neck in the third quarter, but New Jersey, behind Harris and Carter, would rally in the 4th and outscore the 76ers 33-24 to take the 4 point win.
Yi Jianlian had 14 points and 7 rebounds, Brook Lopez had 10 points and 5 rebounds, while the Nets' 3rd overall pick Leo Lai scored 12 points on 4 for 7 shooting in 14 minutes of play off the bench in his NBA debut, he also had 2 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal, and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. 2nd round pick Patrick Mills played just 6 minutes off the bench, and had 2 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.
The 76ers were led by Andre Iguodala, who had an all round performance of 16 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 steals, going 5 for 12 from the field. he had some solid help from the likes of Samuel Dalembert, Elton Brand, Louis Williams, and offseason signing Linas Kleiza, but could not overcome the Nets' late 4th quarter rally. Turnovers were a big factor for the 76ers' downfall to the Nets, as they turned it over 19 times, all led to fastbreak opportunities for the Nets, as the Nets had a 18 to 6 fastbreak points advantage and a 9-6 second chance points difference.
The Nets would be playing against the Toronto Raptors at home next, just 2 days later. They are one of the few teams that would be playing multiple games in October.

Harris had some nice dimes! Great win.. You can't win when Kleiza is your leader

How did Kleiza ended up at Philly?
EDIT: Oh, signed in the offseason.
yeah, although i don't know why Carter kept on missing wide open jumpers....maybe i am just not used to his shot style
Harris was awesome

Martti. wrote:Harris had some nice dimes! Great win.. You can't win when Kleiza is your leader

well, Iguodala and Louis Williams almost got triple doubles, but yes, when Kleiza is leading your team in scoring, you cannot win
Lamrock wrote:Nice win. I like your recap style. More refined than your other ones.
thanks man, i am still working on the recap style, it's no where near as good as some of yours and/or other peoples though...i am not gd with photoshop etc so i can't make those pretty templates to recap with

nice to hear that this looks better then the others though

Both Wilcox and Jackson out, that sucks. You will need other players to step up.

Chapter 2
November 3rd, 2009
Izod Center: Nets vs Clippers
It was the middle of the second quarter of the regular season game between the New Jersey Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers, the Nets have started the season strong with 2 straight wins, but dropped a disappointing game in Miami to the hands of Dwyane Wade and sophomore Mario Chalmers, who had the game of his life with a 30+ point near triple double performance, they returned home with the vow to defeat the Clippers today, and started the first quarter well, ending it with a 3 point lead, however...
"and the Nets' struggles continue, here's Davis coming up on the fastbreak, passes it off to Eric Gordon for the Slam!" said the announcer "Clippers with a 12-0 run"
"Beat us? you are getting your ass kicked by our sophomore Vince" said Baron Davis to Carter, "This is our year, you can go back to the lottery where you belong"
"Shut up Baron" replied Carter as he calls for a screen from Brook Lopez
"Here is Carter with a wide open three.....and he misses another shot, just a miserable shooting night for Carter, who is 2 for 10 so far in this game" the announcer said "here is Davis with the last second attempt....It's no good but the Clippers are on a row, they lead by 7 and dominated this second period, outscoring the Nets 38 to 28"
----------Nets Locker Room----------
"Vince, you gotta knock those shots down, and if your outside shot isn't going, go inside more and get to the line" Lawrence Frank said to Carter "Guys, we are not out of this game yet, it's only a 7 point lead and we can take the momentum back with a little bit more aggressiveness, don't lose heart!"
----------3rd period----------
"and Carter's struggles continue, it's a 10-0 run for the Clippers, who have carried their momentum across from that second period" the announcer said "just a terrible night for the Nets"
"God dammit, Lai! get in there for Vince" yelled Lawrence Frank "just play with energy and stop Eric Gordon from killing us"
"Here is the Rookie Leo Lai out of Hong Kong in for the struggling Vince Carter, this kid has been solid so far in the last 3 games for the Nets, but i doubt he can do much, it's better then leaving Carter out there chucking bricks i suppose" said the announcer
--------5 minutes later---------
"Here's Lai driving down the lane, he goes up against Chris Kaman....AND HE JAMS IT IN ONE-HANDED! A POSTER JAM BY THE ROOKIE!" announced the announcer, "This makes it a 26-5 run for the Nets! Lai has scored the last 14 points for New Jersey! TIME OUT CLIPPERS!"
------end of game-------
"THE NETS TAKE IT, 131 to 120! What a performance from the Chinese duo, Yi Jianlian and the Rookie Leo Lai, who had a career high 35 points coming off the bench, sparking a 26-5 run in the 3rd quarter to help the Nets come back into this game, Devin Harris was also a big contributor with 20 points and 17 assists, but the game would have been lost if not for the performance of the rookie"
"Yeah good job boy"
"Great game bro"
Lai was being praised by his teammates back in the locker room following the win and the after-game talk from Lawrence Frank
"Hey rook" Carter called Lai over "Good game today" then whispered into his ear "don't get too full of yourself rookie, this is just one lucky game for you, I am still the man on this team, we clear?" before grabbing his bag and went out, leaving Lai there confused at why he was being treated like this by the guy he admired so much growing up
"What's wrong?" asked Yi, who came over to give Lai a high-five
"Nothing, everything's fine" answered Lai "Want to go get something to eat?"
------------------------
There were lots of talk regarding Lai's potential and possibilities in the media following the game, some good and some bad. One particular analysis said that it's only a fluke and he doesn't have the kind of potential and consistency to reach the level of certain players like Kobe Bryant, and he wasn't wrong either, as Lai's performances ranged from decent efforts to non-existence in the next few games, first getting dominated by fellow SG rookie James Harden in the Nets' 98-102 loss to the Wizards, then scoring 10+ in the Net's next two games, and disappeared in the next 5 games...
"I don't know what's wrong, sometimes it just works and sometimes it just doesn't, so stop bugging me about it" Lai said "maybe if you play me more minutes, i could get into my rhythm better coach"
"You know unless you prove to me that you could get it done on a nightly basis, i can't give you all those minutes" answered Lawrence Frank "Besides, Vince plays the same position as you so there isn't that many minutes available anyways"
"but..."
"No Buts Leo, just work harder at practices and you'll get the minutes you deserve" stated Frank firmly before walking away, leaving Lai alone on the court
"Dammit!' cursed Lai
"Don't worry about it man, things will work out" said fellow rookie Patrick Mills, who appeared out of nowhere
"You heard our conversation?" asked Lai
"Yeah, sorry man" answered Mills "but really, don't worry yourself too much about these things"
"That's easy for you to say, you've been on a roll lately and the coach is using you a lot more since Bobby went down" Lai said "every since your big game against the 'wolves coach has been going to you more often"
"Well, all we gotta do now is work hard, cause in a few years this team will be led by us" said Mills "we all have one goal in common, to win that Championship, so just work together for that goal"
"I guess you are right, thanks man"
"No problems bro, we're playing in MSG tomorrow, let's be prepared and put on a good show!"
"Sure"

Blazers part ways with Iverson, obtains BibbyNovember 28th 2009

Just a few months after they signed the former MVP to their roster, the Blazers
decided it was not a good fit as they traded Allen Iverson away to the Atlanta
Hawks for point guard Mike Bibby.
Iverson, who is in his 14th NBA season, was signed by the Portland Trailblazers
to a 3 year, 23.57 Million dollar deal in the offseason, he has been averaging
19.6 points per game, 4.6 assists per game, and 1.2 steals per game on 46%
shooting in 33.9 minutes per game for the Blazers thus far, including a season
high 31 point effort against the Knicks on the 21st of November, just a week ago.
He said that this trade took him by surprise and that it was "bizarre"
"It's a shock, really. I thought we were doing well and we were a good fit, but i guess
they just wanted to go in a different direction" said Iverson "I understand, it's all
business, and i welcome the chance to go to Atlanta and help the Hawks franchise"
Bibby was resigned by the Hawks to a 4 year, 34.21 million dollar deal in the offseason,
he has averages of 16.1 points per game and 6.3 assists per game on 46% shooting
in 33.6 minutes per game.

Portland with Iverson, that sounds nice.
Didn't saw Vince Carter as a hard guy like that... that would be KD in Sit's.

nah, Vince ain't that much of a jackass. Constructive criticism brings motivation to work hard, that's what he's doing

that and also insecurity regarding his starting spot

Portland is the one who traded away Iverson, AI is now with the Hawks

If I had a dynasty with VC, he would be the lazy guy who doesn't really give a shit.
I wrote:Hes gonna take Lai, have him come off the bench for like 2 games before moving Carter to the 3. Lai turns out to be a superstar and averages 30+ PPG and wins everything in his rookie year. They enter the playoffs as a 3 or 4 seed and then it gets corrupted when he gets to the second round.
Hmm... Check, check, in progress, looking good, getting there, perhaps, looking like it, not yet.

well, he DOES want to be back on the All-Star team this season, so that's motivation there for him to not be a lazy bastard
Lai is still coming off the bench and i don't plan to put him on the starting lineup anytime soon...he's still just in the mid 70s rating, and has a hard time getting good looks for himself, even though he's shooting a high percentage, he can't get shots off a lot of times, which explains why he disappears in some games, and impacts others..30ppg is a world away for him right now

for the record, i have a sub .500 win percentage right now...my team's defense and rebounding is like non-existent right now

Impressive stuff from the rookie.
