Well I'm entering into the fourth season of my association. I'm running the Nets and my starting lineup looks like this:

In my first season I simmed it and promptly went 8-21. The next year I was 17-11 and lost in the second round of the playoffs. In year 3, I had the best record in the league at 22-7, Devin Harris won the MVP . . and I lost in the 1st round. During that season I slashed payroll with the hope of signing a big name free agent, and I got my miracle . . . I signed King James and went on to win all but one playoff game the following season in route to a championship. Speaking of championships, The Mavericks, Pacers and Raptors won titles before I did. The Mavericks I could understand, but the Pacers and Raptors?

Just got the game couple days ago, after testing it for a while decided to start an association, of course with my favourite team, the Sixers (29 games). The rosters are quite up to date, last transaction included was Kapono-Evans trade, so Kapono would be in my team. Current record 2-4, quite dissappointed about it. Current depth chart:

I have made 2 quite big deals so far, Sammy for Chandler and Armstrong, and a three-team deal that included Bosh-Brand-OJ Mayo. I acquired Bosh, Memphis acquired Brand and Raptors Mayo. Unfortunately to make this deal work I had to give away Williams, Speights and Smith and had to take Antoine Walker's and Reggie Evans's butt ugly contracts. I managed to ship Walker straight away to Kings along with Shannon Brown for Bobby Jackson.


Insight on games so far: @ Boston 78-90, even though I lost it, it was quite good game after all. The final score was their biggest lead and the game was much closer than it seems. Iggy was great, scoring 28 points along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. This game was played with original rosters.

vs Pacers 95-86, first game for Chandler, great game from us, even though I wasn't hoping much from him, Brand was quite good, 26 points. Iggy added 23 and Young 11. I had problems with only 2 players, TJ Ford and 'surprisingly' with Granger, other than them, it wasn't that hard. Although we lost the first half, we managed to pull it away on the second and won it by 19.

vs Wizards 92-101, first game for Brewer, got him for Willie Green (quite a steal), but didn't know how to utilise him at first. He played much better in the next 3 games. Horrible game from us, especially on defense, Arenas was just unstoppable, got to the line 18 times, which ended up a 36-9-7 statline. The 2nd quarter was just flat out terrifying, we lost it by 17 points. Only positive thing was Young having 23 points.

vs Magic 108-118, Iggy started off brilliantly, 16(!) points in the first 5 minutes, just great, but then things got out of hand, the defense was more horrifying than previous game, we let a rookie guard(Lee) score 32 points to us, that was just awful. Dwight just dominated the boards, grabbing 16 rebounds, 6 offensive and we lost the rebounding battle 42 to 28. I suck at stopping opponents getting offensive rebounds, they got 15 of those, which is unaccetable. Kapono tryed to get us back into the game late, scoring 17 points off the bench, narrowing the lead to 5 at some point, but he wasn't enough, because the others didn't come along.

@ Spurs 84-104, first game for Bosh, when you think that things can't get worse, they will, the most irritating game that I have played, it wasn't just possible to stop them going to get a layup, no matter who decided to try it, they started running at the top of the key and no matter how hard nor how many people was trying to stop them they just hit them and hit them and hit them, while on the other side of the court I bricked open layups. Whoopdi-doo. Got irritated about it and just started up jacking random shots and playing no defense, because it didn't affect them at all. I don't know how the score ended up being so close nor I don't know how Bosh managed to make double-double with 26-10, but the final score was much closer than the game really was. Btw, Duncan had an incredible putback dunk.

@ Memphis 71-88, finally a solid game, believe it or not, but Bobby Jackson was our hero, even playing only 7 minutes, but those 7 minutes were enough. We started off quite bad actually, they were up by 8 quickly, but the 2nd quarter was, when the game was decided, right after Bobby got in. We started forcing a lot of turnovers and we used them. Jackson quickly scored 11 points, even missing 4 free throws out of 6(he was perfect from the field, 4-4Fg, 1-1pt). Overall it was solid effort from us, everybody stepping up their game. Conley and Gay missed total of 35 shots . Brand had his first game against his former team, solid double-double with 17-10. They only played 7 players, and no Milicic along with them . 3 other players were in double figures, Iggy with 19, Bosh with 18(9-14 shooting) and Young 15 points(7-9 shooting). Surprisingly we won rebounding 42 to 39, Chandler with 13.

Insight on the players:

Andre Miller - 3.2 points/2.2 rebounds/9 assists and 1.2 steals per game, he hasn't been scoring much, but has distributed the ball well. I'm not sure if I plan to resign him, depends on how much money he demands. Has been quite consistent, surprisingly the worst game from him was against Memphis when he 'only' had 5 assists.

Bobby Jackson - 6.7/1.2/2.9 When I got him, it was only because his contract runs out after this season, but he has changed my mind and I might resign him, again depending how much he demands. Great backup point guard.

Andre Iguodala - 22.5/3.7/3.8/51,3% shooting/0.8 turnovers Even now, when Bosh is in the team, he has been clearly the team leader, really enjoying playing with him, definitely will stick with the team and most likely will retire. I hope he can keep up this until the end of the season. Have had some amazing dunks with him, most of my fast break points come from him, along with Thaddeus.

Jason Kapono - 9.2/1.5/0.8 Actually has been quite a dissappointment, because I don't know how to shoot with him. Plain simple. Has been shooting atrocious 23% behind the arc. Not sure if after this season, but most likely after next season planning to unload his contract to save money for a more affordable shooter. Hopefully I will learn how to shoot with him, I will need those 3 pointers.

Kareem Rush - 3.5/0.5/1 in 2 games in 8 minutes total. Has been just to fill out the roster. His contract will run out after this season and have no plans whatsoever to resign him. Scored his 7 points against Memphis.

Corey Brewer - 6.4/3/0.9 Didn't start off very good, but in the last few games has provided me spark off the bench, which has been very needed. He'll stick til' end of his contract, but not sure yet if afterwards. Actually played point guard for some time, before Jackson came, but that was just ridiculous.

Thaddeus Young - 11.8/3.2/2.3 on 55% shooting. Has been one of the positive surprises for the season so far, has a bright future with this team, only if he wants to stick with us. Really liking playing with him, Iggy-Thaddeus fast breaks are just fun to watch, with one of them putting up a flashy dunk or a remarkable layup(lulz).

Chris Bosh - 18.7/9/2.2 (22/8/2.5/58% FG during Sixers tenure) When I started this, I was very interested getting him here straight away, fortunately I managed to pull it away, although it came with bigger loss than I hoped for, but all in all, it's for the great good. But these 2 games has made me thinking, I haven't played with him as good as I hoped for, he isn't exactly the player, who I am very effective with, believe it or not, but it was easier and I was more succesful with Brand. He hasn't fit in to my system very well. Time will tell, I hope that I manage to get use to him and will love playing with him, but things doesn't pan out, I might eventually trade him, maybe before next years trade deadline, most likely to Minnesota, for Al Jefferson of course. I guess it's too early to tell.

Robert Horry 0.8/0.5/0.8/20% shooting. Got him for Donyell Marshall along with 2nd round pick and honestly I am not very happy with him. But his contract will run out after this season, so this doesn't really matter. Doesn't belong into my future plans anyway. If right offer will come along, might trade him.

Reggie Evans - 0.4/2.4/0.6 (2 rebounds and a steal during Sixers tenure). Got him along with Bosh, but planning to move him straight away, his contract is just bad. Great hustler, but really doesn't belong to my future plans. Until he's with the team, he might take over Horry's place as a backup power forward, this will happen, if Horry doesn't step up his game.

Tyson Chandler - 8.1/7.8/0.8/1.6 blocks/62% shooting. Got him for Sammy as soon as I put him on the trading block. Not the most realistic trade, but look what trade Hornets accepted in February. Has been quite solid, nothing spectacular, could do better on rebounds(especially on defensive), gets tired easily, that's one of his biggest problem. Will be with the team at least til' next years trade deadline, after that, not so sure, but still possible. He's actually 6th best center in the league, rating wise.

Theo Ratliff - 0.8/2/0.5/0.7 blocks. Actually has done much more than the statsheet shows, big inside presence. Planning to resign him, because he has been great off the bench. If Bosh or Chandler will get injured, he will be the starter.

Hilton Armstrong - Yet to play. Earlier this season I had two young big men prospect, Armstrong and Smith, and I chose to get rid of one. Decided to stick with Hilton, but he will not see much playing time this year, maybe next. Will see.


This year, my main goal is to get to the playoffs, as it turns out, it isn't that easy. That is the minimum goal, the real goal is to get to the 2nd round.

It wasn't just Bosh for Brand, I had to also give away Marreese Speights, Louis Williams and Jason Smith, all 3 good young guys and had to take to bad contracts in Antoine Walker and Reggie Evans. You're too much underestimating Brand, given his healthy, he's a 20-10 guy (IIRC only 4 guys have career numbers 20+ points and 10+ rebounds), who plays much better defense than Bosh + fear of losing Bosh 2010'. Only factor that plays against Brand is that he is older, but only by 5 years, and his recent injury history. In terms of career so far Brand>>>Bosh.

CPU didn't accept but wanted Wade in Cha city so much (without giving up Rose), I had to trade override. This trade probably couldn't be done in real life. Don't know who else I should add or take out.

Well, I finally finished Season 3 of my Raptors association yesterday. And I did so in style by winning my third straight NBA title after defeating the Lakers in six games in the Finals. I went 60-22 in the regular season. Here's what happened during the offseason. I got rid of my assistant coach, my scout, my prospect souct and my trainer and replaced them all with completely new guys. The only person from my staff that I kept was Sam Mitchell as head coach. I then accepted the option on Clarence Baldwin's contract, which keeps him on my team the next couple of years. I then got rid of Luke Ridnour. However, I re-signed Kyle Korver to a 3 year deal and I also re-signed Roko Ukic to a 4 year deal. Now, because I traded my first round pick to the Wizards for their first rounder during the regular season, and because Washington finished dead last in the overall standings and I had their pick, I had the best odds to win the draft lottery. Well, I did indeed win the draft lottery and used the pick on center Zach Lynch from Michigan, who I quickly signed to a 2 year deal, with an option for another two. Next, we me having no cap space to go after the big free agents for the 2011 offseason such as Amare Stoudemire, Allen Iverson and others, I ended up trading Shawn Marion to Cleveland for Hedo Turkoglu. After the offseason was done, I still needed to fill out my roster, so the CPU signed both Vitaly Potapenko and Willard Daley for me. I probably will not use those two players very much at all. Then, right at the start of the preseason, I used my mid-level exception to sign Kenyon Martin. So, I am now set to go in the 2011-2012 season. However, I am now considering going to another team that could use my help.

I have been trying to retrade Kristic, as he is being an unhappy cunt. I like the player, but fuck with my chemistry and you are gone. Anyone know a center I could trade him for?
I also want to get rid of Graham, since he doesn't deliver enough on the offensive side. Other than that I am loving my team and have won 6 in a row.
Derozan has gained 5 points in a month and can dunk like a motherfucker. So that's nice.
I don't even remember where I traded him from, but Gomes is prolly my best trade. He can do defense, jumpers and dunk. So yeah.

I've started an association with the Bulls and it's current rosters; I did'nt like they so much, so I traded a lot of players, I need some help with rotation because I don't know what to do

My team is:

SG: K. Korver, M. Bellineli, M. Jaric
SF: R. Gay, N. Batum
PF: T. Thomas
C: B. Miller, A. Bargniani, J. Noah, J. James

At the first games, my rotation was like: Rose -> Conley, Bellineli -> Korver, Gay -> Batum, Noah -> Thomas, Bargniani -> Miller

But Conley is playing very well, he usually gets 10 assists/game if i give him minutes, so I'm thinking of doing something like:

Conley -> Rose/New PG
Rose -> Bellineli/Korver
Gay -> Korver/Batum
Noah -> Thomas
Bargniani -> Miller

I've tried it on some games and it worked good, because Conley and Rose play well together.

What would you do?

Well since you come along well with Conley you should move Rose to SG just like you suggest. But that can be hard on D against good SGs. I'd switch Noah and Bargnani though. Noah is better on D against strong Cs and Bargnani can stretch the D with his shot at PF.
