Maybe he's trying to give high five to himself, because no one else would, just like Bogut.

I haven't posted here for a very long time now, although have been reading ever since the start. Your still going strong, the depth of the stories are just flat out great, I really like what have you done with the team, good job with that. Especially I love the Player Focus thing, those are my favourite part. Well, anyway, good luck with it anyway, I'm not sure how often I will be posting here, but still going to be keep on reading.

Lamrock wrote:Are you posting recaps for all the games now? Anyway, I'm loving that you're still going with this. Nice job getting those close wins in the last two games. Bet those were a lot of fun.

Nah, I'm not posting every game... it just so happens these games were at the start of the virtual month. I'm only posting about 3 or 4 games per month max... but yeh man, I hope you are enjoying them!

Mark. wrote:man you've got this team playing well Im really looking forward to the playoffs. LMAO at X's agents comment, surely an agent would be more supportive of his client than that.

Your player played a lot better in March man. And I'm looking forward to the playoffs too! It's going to be massive and we're nearly there now!

The X wrote:Always under appreciated, even by my agent

haha... yeah, your agent was pretty harsh. :P

And you know how 2k works... ur character is a +3 or +4 in the overall rating due to morale I guess?

C-77 wrote:nice, two straight wins at the buzzer, one by a superstar and one from a fool ,it must be fun to thriller games like those 2 huh?

It made my herart stop... if I missed those shots, I would cry. I know KD doesn't miss but Morrison was iffy... he was wide open but he's not a three shooter...

Thierry wrote:Lol Morrison at the buzzer Nice

Yeah man... the Stache rocks! Although he's shitty about coming off the bench for me...

Martti. wrote:What the hell is Morrison doing on that picture? Some mustache-dancy-thing?

He was celebrating but he did a really weird fist pump... must be a white thing? There was no way to make it look good and there was also no way to make his three pointer look good in a picture so I had to settle with this lol

Thanks for your comments man! :) I hope you post once in a while though when your virtual player graces this dynasty. I think he's in the next draft.

Monthly Recap: March
Part One: Team Report, Results, League Standings

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part One of the Monthly Recap provides the league standings; divided into the two conferences. It also features the Seattle Stealth’s’ team report and schedule of games played in the last month (links are included to game recaps where applicable). Part Two will feature Player Statistics.

Team Report

The poise of veteran Jason Kidd in rallying his troops proved the difference between a win and a loss for the Seattle Stealth in many games decided by single digits. Kidd’s experience and Durant’s spectacular offensive skill were on display throughout March and that has rewarded Seattle with a clinched playoff berth.

“We didn’t think we would come this far,” Coach George Karl said, “It’s amazing how we have surpassed our expectations for the season.”

Seattle has a 45-29 record heading into April, good for second in their division and fifth in the Western Conference. Their 133-105 drubbing of the Memphis Grizzlies clinched a playoff berth for the side and Seattle has been reportedly buzzing with anticipation for the playoff basketball to return to the city. The team has performed strongly despite injuries to Sebastian Telfair (bruised tailbone), Reshawn Tyson (strained hamstring), and Brad Miller (sore knee).

March started with the team being unable to string together consecutive wins but that soon changed with a mid-month five game winning streak and finishing with the team winning their third on the trot. The key to their success has seemed to be Kevin Durant. The NBA’s leading scorer lifted his game up a notch, finished March with eight 30+ point games; two of them being big performances. In a tight contest against the Boston Celtics, Durant scored 42 including a game winning drive to the rim. Durant celebrated his team’s entrance into the playoffs with 48 against the Grizzlies.

With just more than a handful of games remaining for the season, the Stealth will now attempt to get home court advantage for the playoffs. Coach Karl and his players know that it’s crucial to do so if they are to have any chance of advancing from the first round. The team is an impressive 28-9 at home but a measly 16-21 away.

There is a slight typo there in Part One, it says "February Schedule" but it should be March right?

76ers are in the 8th spot, I wish we could hold onto it...

Monthly Recap: March
Part Three: Around The League

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Three of the Monthly Recap is the ‘Around the League’ recap, which features transactions and other League news. Part Four will feature the All-NEW NLSC Rookie Focus!

Player Awards

James, Chara are Players of the Month

LeBron James and Moses Chara were again on top of their peers as they both were awarded Player of the Month again. LeBron James might win every Player of the Month Award by the end of season and is looking like a lock to bring home the NBA MVP award.

Mark Moore Finally Knocks Off Barney Steele

New Zealand SG Mark Moore was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month after a strong March in which he upped his points per game average for the season thanks to more consistent play. It was hard to ignore him as the Bobcats also finished the month with a better record than Barney Steele’s Nets.

Rookie of the Year frontrunner Moses Chara was not a surprise winner of his Rookie of the Month award and looks to sweep all of the awards when the season ends.

News

Knicks Sign Former Nets Coach

Former New Jersey Nets Coach Lawrence Frank did not need to look far to find his next gig. He was swooped upon by the ailing New York Knicks where he will be reunited with Vince Carter whom he coached in New Jersey.

“The aim is for this team to be a winner next season,” Frank stated, “We have a lot of good pieces here with Zach Randolph, Lamar Odom, and Vince Carter. The guys are a bit older but that means we have more experience and if we get a good rookie and a few other pieces, the Knicks should be a winner.”

Reshawn Tyson Injured

The third overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, Reshawn Tyson, has been sidelined with a strained hamstring injury. The former UNC Tar Heel has missed two weeks of games and is looking to be out for another week. Tyson has not met expectations with his erratic play off the bench and despite Seattle’s desperate need for a starting SG, George Karl has been hesistant to shift his rookie into the starting slot.

The emergence of Jeff Green as a consistent option at SG has also kept Tyson glued to the bench with Adam Morrison as Green’s main backup. Tyson has also been dealing with personal issues during the season. Despite all of the setbacks, the spectacular offensive player has played in 66 games this season; averaging an amazing 10.8 ppg in 12.8 mpg.

European Youngster Declares For Draft

German Chris Hova told media of his intentions of being a part of the upcoming NBA season.

Hova, currently plying his trade for ALBA Berlin in Germany’s national basketball league, is an exciting prospect. Recently invited to join his country’s national team for the upcoming FIBA World Championships, Hova is a pass first PG with plenty of flashy moves to boot. Hova led Berlin to a surprise Final Four appearance against Union Olimpija, a team that included current rookie and Washington Wizard Klemen Pirc. Hova was outplayed by Pirc but Berlin escaped with a win and a chance to win the Euroleague title in their city as the Finals would be hosted in Berlin.

“I remember that night against Pirc,” Hova states, “We are friends now but before we were enemies. He played very well and I didn’t do so well. It made me think about whether I should go to the NBA and in the end I thought it was not time yet.” Berlin lost in the Euroleague Final convincingly to Barcelona after Hove put in a forgettable effort with just 4 points and 2 assists.

The young star has bounced back this season with averages of 12.3 ppg and 7.3 apg and has led Berlin to the top of the German League ladder. There would be no fairytale in the Euroleague though as the team were knocked out in the Top Sixteen stage. That has not affected Hova though as scouts hold the German in high regard.

Western Conference Playoff Teams Look Set

With the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs as only mathematical chances to be able to make the playoffs; it seems that the teams participating in this season’s postseason in the Western Conference as pretty much set. The current top eight teams in the conference will be those participating in the playoffs but playoff seeding and first round matchups are far from decided.

It is no secret that all the teams are jostling for home court advantage in the first round. It is also no secret that everyone is trying to avoid the Denver Nuggets as first round opponents. Everyone seems more inclined to face the defending champions New Orleans Hornets due to a season-ending injury to anchor Tyson Chandler.

“The general consensus is that Denver are playing great and are looking like contenders for the title,” a Western Conference scout said, “The lesser teams all believe that beating New Orleans is more of a possibility than beating teams like Denver or Houston.”

Eastern Conference Playoff Race Heating Up

The Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards are both slightly off the pace of the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, and Orlando Magic; making it a five team race for the three final playoff seeds available.

Washignton’s Gilbert Arenas stated that he was looking forward to the last two weeks of the season with his team just out of the playoff picture, “This is where all the fun begins.”

UCLA Pair Aim For Win Before Making Jump

UCLA’s Jeremy Mason and James Carter have both decided that they would like to make the jump from the college game to the pros but only after they help UCLA win the NCAA championship this year.

The starting swingman combo for the Bruins has been a major factor in their team’s push to the Final Four in this year’s tourney. Both of them are scoring machines with Mason averaging 20.6 ppg and Carter just a little behind at 18.3 ppg. However, the two of them could not be any more different as people.

Mason is the more grounded of the pair with high academic scores and a reputation of being one of the nicest guys in college basketball at the moment. Carter is widely known to be brash, cocky, and a show-off. Their respective playing styles reflect their personalities best with Mason using his fundamental skills to quietly have a positive impact on the game while Carter uses his athleticism to fuel his electrifying play.

Mason is expected by many to be a top five pick and has even heard whispers of potentially being picked first. Carter’s attitude have scared teams who believe he could be disruptive in the locker room and that has seen his projection as a top ten pick at the start of the year turn into being a mid-late first rounder.

The duo aren’t phased by the Draft talk yet though as they still have to suit up in Bruins gear and face the Georgia Bulldogs in a handful of days in their Final Four encounter. Mason who is always the professional said, “It will be a tough game. We respect our opponents and we are preparing for the game carefully.” The arrogant Carter was not so diplomatic, “Are we going to win? What kind of question is that?”

Monthly Recap: March
Part Four: NLSC Rookie Focus

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Four of the Monthly Recap is the NLSC Rookie Focus where one NLSC rookie is chosen to be presented to you, the reader, in order for you to get to know them better. Part Five will feature the All- :new: Team Focus.

Player Focus: Zoilo Resurreccion

Image
Zoilo never in his wildest dreams thought he’d get to guard Jason Kidd

# 2 | PG | Philadelphia 76ers (34-39) |
5’8” | 181 lbs | Age: 25 | Princeton |
2009 Draft | Round: 1 |Pick: 13 |

Position Rank: 21st
Overall Rank: 80th
Role: Starter
Agent: "I don’t think it’s possible for him to be any happier right now. All I hear about is how much he loves this organization!"
09-10 Statistics: 10.8 ppg, 8.5 apg, 73 GP, 73 GS

Zoilo grew up in the Philippines, a long way away from the United States and the allure of the NBA. The Sixers rookie has told many how the NBA is so big in Asia and that he has become a hero in his home nation. “It’s crazy, every few days I get a phone call for an interview,” Zoilo says, “It’s hard to keep track.”

Zoilo has been nothing but class in his first rookie season. Despite his slight frame and lack of athletic ability, the tough 5’8” PG makes up for his lack of size with great decision making and precision passes. His time at Princeton not only meant that he was a smart man (He could be the smartest in the NBA) but helped him realize the importance of team work.

“In the NBA, there are only some players who are skilled and athletic enough to be superstars,” he says, “I understand that I am not one of them but that does not mean I can be part of a super team. Teams win the championships and not the individual players.”

Resurreccion’s drafting to the NBA has paved the way for more of his countrymen to have a look in at trying to gain a place in the league. Zoilo’s friend from the National Team Kenneth Dela Cruz is rated by some scouts as a potential lottery pick in this year’s Draft. However, after these two, the playing stocks from their country do not run too deep. A positive taken out of this is that having the two of them in the NBA should spawn future players from their country in the future.

“I’m happy for Kenneth,” Zoilo endorses his friend, “He will be an important player for any team he plays for. It would be pretty cool if he was in Philadelphia with me.” Zoilo is also having a stellar rookie season as he ranks amongst the League’s leaders in assists per game. He averages double digit scoring although on some poor shooting percentages. “I have a bit of work to do on my jumper,” he admits.

The most important thing though is that the diminutive guard has helped Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala take the next step; looking in at a potential playoff berth. Never in Zoilo’s wildest dreams, did he ever think he’d be helping a team make its way towards the NBA playoffs.

NLSC Rookie Statistics

Byron Brock 7.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.2 apg
Mark Moore 15.5 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 4.6 apg
Martti Must 12.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.4 apg
Klemen Pirc 6.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.6 apg
Zoilo Resurreccion 10.8 ppg, 0.5 rpg, 8.5 apg
Andrew Watson 18.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 4.3 apg

Monthly Recap: March
Part Five: Team Focus

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Five of the Monthly Recap is the Team Focus. This gives readers an opportunity to see how certain teams are going and to give them an idea of what their rosters look like now. A new team is presented each month and it is up to you to nominate one!

Image

TEAM RECORD 31-44 (5th Division, 15th Conference)
TEAM CHEMISTRY 73%

TEAM ROSTER

Player | Statistics (PPG, RPG, APG)

PG Baron Davis | 24.4, 2.9, 7.4
SG Eric Gordon | 15.7, 2.9, 4.2
SF Al Thornton | 15.3, 4.0, 1.1
PF Drew Gooden 6.0, 4.6, 0.3
C Chris Kaman | 12.6, 9.3, 1.4

- - -

C Marcus Camby | 4.8, 6.8, 2.7
SG Ricky Davis | 11.0, 2.9, 2.9
SG Cuttino Mobley | 11.6, 2.3, 2.5

TEAM REPORT

Coming in last place in their conference, you would expect the Clippers to be struggling to get to 20 wins. Well, you would be wrong as the Clippers have racked up a healthy 30 wins. Baron Davis is playing better than he was playing last season when he was an MVP candidate and Chris Kaman was an All-Star for the first time in his career. The team still find themselves in last place though in the wild wild Western Conference. Talk about little margin for error!

“It gets frustrating to see our team’s name down there (in the standings),” Davis says, “You look at Washington and Chicago over there in the East and they haven’t won more than we have. Those guys are on the verge of making the playoffs. It’s crazy.”

Although life is usually unfair, Davis does try to look at the bright side of things. “Look, our team knows that we are competitive in a really competitive Conference so next season, we just need to stay focused and we may well be back in the playoffs.”

The Clippers have struggled since the beginning of this season and it has become evident that the team needs to draft and sign some big men to shore up their front court. The team tried to improve their depth at the forward position by trading Leon Powe for veteran Drew Gooden. Things didn’t pan out like how the Clippers wanted it to and they realized that they just have to go back to the drawing board.

The team will be relieved for the season to be over but by no means are they disappointed. Baron Davis raises both his hands in the air and wiggles his fingers, “Just ten more games. If we had ten more wins, we would have as many wins as the Lakers. We would be leading the division.”

Also, congratulations on making the playoffs. Now the focus is just holding on to that fifth seed and ideal matchup with the Lakers. (The standings are misleading, as LA will get the fourth seed)

He's not stating to beat you. You're still doing better across the board and on a far superior team! Chin up!

Thanks man!

None of the Clippers players makes me go 'wow'... they look like they will be stuck in limbo for a few more years now...

I hope I'm not going to fast for everyone! :)

And yeah, I'm not sure if playing LA are ideal... you will see why in the next updates!

Seattle Stymie Portland In Potential Play-Off Preview

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Kevin Durant wants Portland to know, he is ready
for them in the first round if Seattle faces them

13 April, 2010

PORTLAND (AP) – There was a lot riding on this game and Kevin Durant knew it. After coming off an emotional 110-109 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in which Durant hit a game winning jumper, the Seattle Stealth handled the Portland Trailblazers with shocking efficiency, ease, as well as rock-solid defense.

Durant and his guys knew that a win in Portland would pull them closer to the Houston Rockets and a chance at stealing the third seed instead of staying in their current position which would lead to a first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers. If the Stealth were to be successful in etching their names as third seeds in the Western Conference playoff bracket, it would mean a first encounter with the Trailblazers. Durant was well aware of that fact, “Our team had to have a huge win tonight. If we play them next week, we will have the mental advantage.”

Durant led his team with 29 points and only missed one shot in the whole game. Head coach George Karl said he was not surprised with his star’s efficiency, “I’ve seen it all season now. Everything Kevin does is not much of a surprise for me.” Karl also added the importance of the win against Portland, “It’s no secret that we want to play Portland. Sure, they beat us earlier in the month but that was only by 2 points. We thrashed them tonight so I bet if we do get them (in the first round), they will be pretty worried.”

Jason Kidd was again rested in this game and he finished with 4 points and 4 assists in very limited court time. The 37 year old welcomed the time on the bench, “I need this especially with the playoffs starting next week. It’s good for me to have a chance to rest my legs.”

Rookie Reshawn Tyson was Seattle’s second highest scorer finishing with 13 points and he also added a career high 6 steals while Trevor Ariza was devastating in garbage time scoring 11 points in just a little over 2 minutes.

Brandon Roy led his team admirably with 23 points and 3 assists. He hardly missed from anywhere bar from behind the arc where he went 3 for 13. “He (Roy) was shooting too much from the perimeter,” one of the Blazers’ coaches stated, “But we’ve gone through that with him and it shouldn’t be an issue. Just another one of those nights.” Travis Outlaw was the only other Blazer in double figures with 12 points while Greg Oden was far and away from matching the performance of the player he was drafted in front of but the big man did contribute 9 points and 11 rebounds.

The start of the game was close until Seattle put the clamps on the home team Blazers in the second quarter. Karl thought his team was safe from losing and kept Durant and Kidd on his bench. The Blazers took advantage of this and went on a 14-6 tear during the third to close the gap. A combination of poor shot selection and poor ball handling led to both teams struggling to score in the final few minutes of the third quarter.

Seattle broke out of the funk first and stormed in front by even more points; this time they would not give Portland any chance of a comeback. Tempers flared as Durant was hit hard on his way to the rim by Steve Nash. Nash, who had a terrible game finishing with just 7 points and 2 assists, stood over Durant’s body and taunted him and was met with approval from the fans. Jeff Green and David Lee confront Nash as Carlos Boozer came up to support his captain. The officials broke up the altercation as Seattle’s team doctors rushed on court to check it Durant was ok.

Durant was fine and sunk two free throws to put his side up 74-58 with 3:12 remaining. Ariza would come on a minute later with the rest of the Stealth bench and score all of his 11 points in the final 2 minutes of the game.

Notes: SG Reshawn Tyson, for the first time this season, was the first player off the bench… Houston beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-101 to improve their record to 51-30. Seattle, who are 50-31, need to win their last game of the season against the Sacramento Kings and hope that the Rockets lose their last game of the season to the New Orleans Hornets if they are to win the third seed… Although the Los Angeles Lakers have a worse record than both Houston and Seattle, they would be the fourth seed due to being Pacific Division Champions. However, this would not award them home court advantage as potential opponents Houston and Seattle both have superior records…
