I think I've played Fallout 3 just about as much as I can until the new DLC comes out but I actually picked up Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics as part of a "Fallout Collection" boxed set fairly cheaply off eBay since I never played the originals and am interested in checking them out.

Picked up Far Cry 2 and I'm pretty addicted to it.

Also throwing in some rounds of NHL 09 here and there.

You'll be wowed with oldskoolness of the Fallout games 'drew.
If you didn't patch Fallout 1, you'll be having a time limit in completing the main quest.Among the first three released games, I am

to Fallout 2.

So far I can certainly see why fans of the originals would be put off by Fallout 3 because it is so different but as I lack that nostalgia (at least specific to the Fallout series), so far I'd have to say I prefer the change in approach that Bethesda took. Fine games and I'm sure I'll get into them but I'm actually a little underwhelmed. Obviously I wasn't expecting graphics that rival Fallout 3 or anything ridiculous like that but as someone who played the most recent one first and with all due respect to the originals and Black Isle, I much prefer the current product.

I understand your point, 'drew. The first games are all in the classic isometric view. It's a sudden turn since Bethesda made F3 a real 3D game. The original, cancelled F3 (Van Buren) would have been 3D.

It would seem combat is a little more strategic than simply "point and blast" too, which makes it a bit more challenging.

One of the things that made it lengthy is that the combat is entirely turn-based.
I have Oblivion right now, graphics is kinda outdated but still looks good. The time I left the sewers, the game asked me to edit my character before leaving.

Fallout 3's ancestor.

I've been tempted to give that one a look sometime too, having really enjoyed Fallout 3.
Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:19 pm
rite now, i have NBA Live 08, Madden 08, Scarface, Watchmen(the game is pretty good), NBA 2K9, MLB 2K9, Call of duty 4, Kane and Lynch, Pes 09
but i only play NBA2K9, Scarface & Watchmen
Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:55 pm
picked up KillZone 2 with the girlfriend's discount today
I've only played the multiplayer so far, and am enjoying it. Kicking some ass, which is always good.
Other than that I am playing NCAA BBall 09: MM Edition and Live 09.
Kinda weird that I haven't been touching 2k9 still....but whatever.
Also looking into buying one of those HDMI/VGA/DVI to USB adapter things for some new HD video mixes, but we can wait and see where that goes.
Mon Mar 16, 2009 7:43 pm
I really wish they could find a way to clear the hurdle with international licensing issues and release NCAA Basketball outside the States. Oh well, that's the tradeoff for having a 360.
Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:10 pm
that would actually explain why MME didnt come out on the PS3
thanks, that was actually really bugging me
Tue Mar 17, 2009 5:30 pm
Picked up a PS3 off of Ebay and have been playing The Show, Killzone 2 demo, and the HAWX demo. All three are bad ass. HAWX comes out on pc today btw.

I'm halfway through Dead Space, Midnight Club LA, Fallout 3, RE5. And just started Hawx, Skate 2 and Farcry 2. I just can't get through one game at a time.. I want to play them all and because of that I don't really get into any one of them .. I need some kind of a schedule or something for my gaming time
Sun Mar 22, 2009 2:22 am
I was gonna start Call of Duty: Wold at War on PC, I bought it used on amazon, but the DVD was corrupt and couldn't be installed...
Just finishing the Sam & Max season 2 these days, and replaying Crysis: Warhead a second time so that I can uninstall it afterwards. Oh, and NBA 2K9 of course.
Sun Mar 22, 2009 5:13 pm
Resident Evil 5 and NBA 2K9 right now.

Also I'll sometimes play N+ for 15 minutes which turns into 2 hours.

No Mercy is back in full force for me. I think it is more of a way to keep me distracted so I don't pay full price for legends of wrestlemania or get TNA Impact.
