NBA Live PC Project v1.0 Released!

Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:02 pm

The wait is finally over! We have a stable release (v1.0) of the NBA Live PC Project for NBA Live 06.

The following downloads are now available:

 Full Package (66.4 MB)
 Rosters Only (671 kB)
 Art Only (66.0 MB)
 Custom Menu Art (5.24 MB)

Key features of v1.0

  • Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
  • Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
  • Player positions and data updated/corrected
  • Cyberfaces and portraits for missing players
  • Jerseys, logos and courts Updated for the 2008/2009 season
  • East/West All-Stars Updated for All-Star Weekend 2009
  • Rookie/Sophomore teams Updated for All-Star Weekend 2009

  • Simple Installation Routine
  • Fixed Shoes
  • Fixed Legends Ratings
  • Coaches Updated
  • Second 90s All-Stars team added
  • Net Animation Fixed

Additional Release Notes

  • Although this is being classified as a stable release and has been thoroughly checked, there is always work to be done and this is intended to be an ongoing project. As such, constructive feedback is certainly welcome.

  • Player ages have not been pushed back in v1.0 but that's something that will be on tap for future versions. My current plan is to release a batch file between now and v1.1 that will adjust birthdates to push player ages back. Like the Primacy Fix, this is something that you will be able to safely run on a Dynasty game in progress so you won't need to start all over again. :)

  • The Custom Menu Art is an optional download at this point. It is not required by the main installation but if you like what you saw in the initial previews, feel free to download and install it as well.

That's about it! I hope you enjoy the initial release of the NBA Live PC Project for NBA Live 06, I look forward to continuing to improve the project as time goes by. As I've mentioned recently our intention is to continue the updates for the older games for a while yet as I've found a way to streamline the process and I'd certainly like to keep working on the NBA Live PC Project as several factors have pushed the release back so far. Feel free to post your feedback and corrections, all we ask is that you keep it civil and constructive. That way, we can make the mod better for everyone.

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the Project so far, your time and efforts are very much appreciated. Please see the readme file for a list of credits; if I've missed anyone please let me know and I'll fix it up ASAP.

Don't you mean push the player ages forward, so making them older than they are in 06 so the game plays like it really is 09?

I guess so, which I'd achieve by pushing their birth years back. As Jao said, same difference, hopefully everyone gets what I mean there. :)

I've found a small error in the installation which has now been fixed and re-uploaded. If you haven't downloaded the file yet you won't need to worry but if you downloaded either the full package or the art update, you'll need to move the philhome.viv, philaway.viv and philser2.viv files from your sgsm folder to sgsm\uniforms. Everything else should be working fine.

You're welcome. :)

One additional release note that I forgot (or at least didn't cover specifically), there's still a lot of headshapes that haven't been converted so a lot of players won't display headbands although they are assigned. Something else that we should hopefully clean up as we go along, hopefully the full release will generate more interest and enthusiasm and we'll get them taken care of ASAP.

Great patch but Im having a problem with the crowd not looking correct at Oklahoma,Minnesota,Atlanta. I downloaded the the full package and the custom menu art patch. The courts are not updated Cleveland,Minnesota thats some things that I seen so far. Great patch though I know that the game will be tweak throughout the season.

Some courts are not updated like the TWolves court.

At this point we just wanted to make sure teams with major design/colour updates (like the Hawks, Bucks and obviously the Thunder) were reflected in v1.0 since they're the ones that would be most noticeable and look most outdated, having completely different logos/colours. A complete update is certainly the longterm goal.
