Nice recap, bad ending, but the Suns are just nasty, especially Nash.

Hehe thanks man :)

No, VC ain't gonna be traded. Don't know if I can get Boozer, as I said he has a player option in his contract, might opt out of it if the Jazz don't do a good season. But I like the idea of Maxiell. (Y)

Yes Nash was just unstoppable.

Nice stuff bro, I like how you are including the team leaders. T-Mac looks to be carrying the rockets, not a good idea with that glass back, no doubt he'll get injured before long.

Do you really need Maggette, I mean, your backcourt is pretty solid. I think you need a solid Shawn Marion-type player. And get rid of Bobby Simmons awful contract! :twisted: Nice dynasty though. (Y)

I think the title of your Association says it all...."Intensity, Energy & Passion"....you can see all 3 in your presentation & desire to make a superb Association....I'll definitely be checking in on this one....

btw, I think your Yi & Swift trade for Maggette sounds fair....Golden State & Nellie have always coveted Yi, so I can see them wanting him....in addition to this, the Warriors have wanted to dump Maggette & his new fat contract since they realised he was a one-sided player....so I say to do it, provided you don't mind your cap space taking a hit (Y)

I think Richardson will form a great 1-2 punch with Carter. He was on fire against Detroit. :wink:

Yeah I don't know what's happening with the Celts. They're 1-4 :?

Wow thanks a lot man :mrgreen: I might do the Maggette trade later, but now I have Richardson, it's less probable... I might go for Boozer in the free agent period.

NEW JERSEY ACQUIRES JASON RICHARDSON
Yi, Hassell and Najera heading to Phoenix

Image

NEW JERSEY - The New Jersey Nets announced today that they have acquired Jason Richardson from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Yi Jianlian, Trenton Hassell, Eduardo Najera and a 2009 second round draft pick.

"Jason is a great player in our league, with a fierce and competitive spirit, who brings offensive scoring prowess and a defensive presence to our team," Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe said. "The players we're trading to Phoenix have bright futures in the NBA and we wish them well."

"While it's difficult to part ways with the players we've worked hard to develop, Jason has been the consummate professional player in the NBA and a player who I have marveled this past years," Nets Head Coach Lawrence Frank said. "He leaves everything he has out on the floor every game. He has drive, passion and hunger to win."

After playing 6 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, the product of Michigan State was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats prior to the start of the 2007-08 season, starting all 82 games and averaging 21.8 points per game. He was later traded to Phoenix for Raja Bell and Boris Diaw.

"I am excited to become a Net," Richardson said today in press conference at the Izod Center. "It's wonderful to have the opportunity to play with players the quality of Vince (Carter) and Devin (Harris)."

Yi was acquired by New Jersey from Milwaukee in a draft day trade. Milwaukee has been looking to rid itself of several bloated contracts and decided it was worth trading the rookie that former general manager Larry Harris selected with the No. 6 pick last year along with the rest of Bobby Simmons' contract, acquiring Richard Jefferson from the Nets. Simmons has two years and a little more than 20 million U.S. dollars left on his deal.

The Nets got cap room and rid themselves a large contract, too. Jefferson, the second leading scorer in Nets history, averaged 22.6 points last season and has three years and more than 42 million dollars left on his contract. The move continues the rebuilding of the franchise in the post-Jason Kidd era and puts New Jersey in position to be a major player in 2010 off season, which is expected to include a bumper crop of free agents.

Hassell was traded to the Nets as part of the Kidd trade, with the Nets also acquiring Harris, Maurice Ager, DeSagana Diop and Keith Van Horn, who later retired. A 6’5” 200-pound guard, Hassell is in his seventh NBA season averaging 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 37 games with Dallas. Selected out of Austin Peay with the 30th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by Chicago, Hassell has gone on to appear in 513 career games with Chicago, Minnesota and Dallas, with averages of 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Hassell has averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 18 career postseason contests.

Najera was signed by the Nets in the offseason in the same day as forward Jarvis Hayes. Najera, an eight-year NBA veteran, played in 78 games last season for the Denver Nuggets, averaging 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, the 6’8” forward out of the University of Oklahoma was originally selected by Houston in the second round (38th overall) of the 2000 NBA Draft and had his draft rights immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Najera played four seasons in Dallas before being traded to Golden State prior to the 2004-05 season as part of an eight-player deal. After 42 games as a Warrior, Najera was dealt to Denver in a mid-season trade, where he played until the conclusion of the 2007-08 season. Over his eight NBA seasons, Najera has played in 493 career games, averaging 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds, while shooting 49.3% from the field.

Sure, any image edit program (I use PhotoImpact because I'm not very familiar with Photoshop, but I assume you can do it in it too), putting the logos together, editing the team names and the score, the record, then any GIF Editor to put the JPGs together.

New Jersey Nets 2K9 :: Game Recap

NEW JERSEY (AP) -- In his first game as a Net, Jason Richardson posted 21 points Friday night and led New Jersey to a 84-69 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

New Jersey played its best basketball of the season in the final two periods to hand the Pistons another loss (3-2). "It was just about playing hard,'' Richardson said. "We played really well in the first quarter, but we have been really struggling in the second and they came back; in the third we came out with more aggressiveness. Points for me didn't matter. It was all about the win. We desperately needed this for our confidence's sake after what happened against Phoenix.''

Vince Carter and Devin Harris scored 18 and 8 respectively for New Jersey. Carter also pulled down 5 rebounds.

Richard Hamilton had 24 points and four rebounds. Allen Iverson scored 16 points, while Jason Maxiell, who the Nets said they are interested in acquire, added 14 points and 8 rebounds.

It looked like an easy win for the Nets at the start; Richardson stepped right in as small forward, joining Bobby Simmons in the frontcourt, now a starter after Richardson was acquired. Carter immediately took over the game, factoring in the Nets' first three scores. Harris dished off to Richardson for the game's first basket, scoring on a finger-roll layup. Harris later kicked the ball out to Carter for a 3-pointer as the Nets took a 26-16 lead after the first quarter. Iverson played the entire opening quarter for Detroit, scoring 8 points, making all three shots from the field, including a 3-pointer.

Detroit was leading 42-40 at the half, thanks to 10 points in the period from Hamilton. New Jersey, led by Richardson, came back to take a 66-50 lead after three quarters. Rasheed Wallace only had 8 points for the Pistons, going 4-for-6 from the field. "I thought he showed unbelievable grit, fighting through, making plays, attacking the paint, having to guard Wallace,'' Nets coach Lawrence Frank said of Simmons. In the fourth quarter, Carter scored on a dunk midway through to give New Jersey an 75-66 lead that Detroit never overcame.

"We had the game and we let it get away in the third quarter,'' Iverson said. "Overall, it was a great experience for me. I felt fine out there, and we only can get better.''

Notes
  • Hamilton, Iverson and Maxiell played the entire game for Detroit. Only Kwame Brown and Jason Williams, signed yesterday, came from the bench, and both couldn't score;
  • Pistons had 9 turnovers, including 2 consecutive by Iverson in the fourth quarter;
  • Nets only 3 fouls in the game;
  • New Jersey scored 56 of 84 points in the paint;
  • Nets had 27 bench points;
  • Nets had 8 fast break points.
