Damn, that 30 incher is nice! Very nice indeed, not that I'm complaining with the 22" that I have atm or anything, sadly the 30 probably wouldnt even fit on my desk.
Btw, the table on which the laptop was in my room is gonna be thrown out soon, I'll be placing an order on the cross-trainer very soon. Damn my tiny room. =(

The resolution should be high enough so when you're sitting close to the screen, it shouldn't appear pixely. The other thing I can think of is compatibility, but if you can hook your computer up to a TV, then I don't think there should be any other compatibility issues.

Jao, get a 30-inch monitor instead. As Cyanide mentioned, the resolution should be high enough to look good up close. For a 30-inch screen, 2560x1600 would be the preferred resolution, and sadly HDTVs go up to just 1920x1080. Sure, monitors are far more expensive (US$900 min. vs. US$450 min. for a decent HDTV,) but the experience is much, much better...

well kathryn and i are planning the budget so that I can blow either half my tax refund or one paycheck. That puts a 32" TV in my price range.
If it do get anything though it will be a TV since if I dont use it we can replace one of our other ones (living room or bedroom)

This is my entertainment set-up. I have no internet on that PC so my main comp is currently my laptop. I have the CPU hooked up to the tv though, along with my HD DVR, PS3, XBOX 360. This is the corner of my room basically.

Diddy, the desk's an antique... It's been in my family for just under a century now. I'm getting a new one soon though, I need more space for my graphics tablet and external HD.
