I thought the point of v5.5 was to incorporate all the additions of the patch but u just kept the same roster as v5 with slight modifications in the roster and new sliders.

I play a game to have fun. no other reason.
so thanks for giving me a base to work with.
but I am going to make my own sliders.
you did come pretty close to making it realistic though.
the way the cpu shoots is pretty much dead on.
and they use their superstar the way they should.
but o'neal missing 5 easy layups is rediculous.
you want to decrease points in the paint. ok.
but not by making me miss points they make in real life.
These layup errors depend of your level, i don't see in my games these things.
At superstar level the time shot release is very important.
However i agree with you, 2k9 is for fun, if you don't like this hard level you can change the user close shot sliders and lay-up, maybe with values 46-47 you will play and win.

you are probably right. I am after all a casual nba 2k9 player.
like 2 games a week. I will try again then and take extra care
with when I release the shot. do you use the stick or buttons
to do layups?

well I actually had the same comments as JoeBeezy right there, however with all Albys settings and rosters intact the game plays really well on All Star level. Try it. At the start with all Albys settings@default, I also was getting the feeling that this settings make this game lack the fun part, however with All Star level it balances out
I have not and probably won't try this latest version, since I find the previous one just perfect.
Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:51 pm
allstar it is then.
Sat Jan 24, 2009 11:10 pm
hahaha. I lost even worse on allstar.
how do I stop my idiot team mates from doing
double teams and giving shooters wide open shots?
I have the help defense slider all the way down.
Sat Jan 24, 2009 11:19 pm
damn me too.. but i guess using albys roster and sliders is easier to score from the outside than the patch of Jimmy..
I also noticed that using the 5.5 patch, I wasnt able to make dwight howard perform a spin move.. it was also harder to score from the inside.
Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:02 am
also, your sliders and settings are the best patch being released in my opinion. but i also think they are right that your roster will be more perfect if you modify it from the official roster update patch

it does have new dunk packages and isomotions
just a thought
Thanks for the updates, man!

10 mins on hof. only thing I changed was turning of clutch factor.
Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:54 am
toooooooooo many points in the paints
Sun Jan 25, 2009 1:15 am
Hi i use only rosters, and they are great. I am using my own sliders. I paly on 9 minutes quarters, and one thing is botering me. My bench players play alot more than cpu's bench players, he just doesn't make substitutions very often. What could be the cause for this? Is it because bench players have to little minutes set in rotation menu?

1)not enough CPU free throw
2)too many CPU assists
3) little foul commit from user
4)only one user offensive rebounds? It should be at least 8-9
5)too many CPU steals
6)tooo many Points in paint CPU and user
Sun Jan 25, 2009 2:17 am

10 mins hof with clutch factor turned off.
I agree with carmelo on all his points.
I would also like to add that good cpu shooters never miss
an open look. which is not realistic.
while I miss lay ups after getting the defender in the air with a fake out.
and while it's better in this version than before, I still can't steal the ball
any other way then getting in the passing lane.
I did get a dunk, so that's nice.
the cpu got like 9 dunks. and not all with lebron either.
I think if you lowered cpu 3 point slider setting a little and
cpu passing attribute and steal slider. it would be pretty close to
being realistic. oh and lower cpu dunk and layup success too.
on tv people miss dunks. this never happens in the game.
I am not saying I need to beat the cavs for the setting to be
realistic, because in real life the cavs would beat the raptors.
just trying to help make the best gameplay patch even better.

guys, if you have problems, complaints, and suggestions regarding the sliders or rosters updates/patches of any users in here, don't blame them... what you can do is do it yourself, adjust your sliders the way you want it to be, because it will differ on how your style of gameplay is...
Sun Jan 25, 2009 2:26 am
I don't have problems and I am not blaiming anyone. I am just trying to
offer suggestions that might improve the best gameplay patch there is.
Sun Jan 25, 2009 2:31 am
albys already said that it was good for him.. that is why he released it so you can adjust it for yourself... that's it..
Sun Jan 25, 2009 2:43 am
how about you post something constructive instead of
telling people not to want to help?
Sun Jan 25, 2009 3:08 am
just wwnat to ask u ALBYS if this is compatible with the official 2k9 patch bec I noticed that the old problems w/o patch is back

too may block jumpshot, and back dooor plays???

Boys, sorry for my answer but i think your defense is very bad.
The cpu make lot points in area ONLY if your defense is absent-minded.
Probable you see only cpu ball-handler, and press this without look at other cpu players, and at HOF level the cpu use more cut.
The stats are not always significant, depend of player level.
Sorry for my bad english.
Sun Jan 25, 2009 4:54 am
my defense could very well suck.
I've only played like 20 games of nba 2k9 all together.
I am not complaining about the points in the paint.
it's that you call the sliders realistic and I don't agree
for the reasons I mentioned above.
if you hadn't used the word realistic to describe the
gameplay I wouldn't even have posted suggestions
on how to make it more like on tv.

Alby I want to adjust some of your sliders and I need your help. Which slider decrease the passes of cpu and which decrease the alley-ops? I noticed that cpu alley-op and points in the paint problem aren't solved while I press as i can the pg. However, I haven't played too many games to have a better opinion.
If I turn the medium range of CPU up and close shoots down, could this change help to decrease points in the paint? Sorry but I'm not so well aware of sliders. Thanks in advance.

no offical roster is shit

Albys's roster is great but it have some MISSES like
LAKERS I mean they are
THE BEST team in the NBA, they are playing best basketball, have best record but ... they are weaker than CHA Bobcats, NOLA Hornets, UTAH JAZZ, and Bynum's overall is like 81 I think, and Greg Oden's too. I really like Oden and I think with the time he'll be THE BEST CENTER IN THE NBA, but now the way he's playing he
can not be in the same box with 'Drew! He can't!

Bynum had a few baad games, TRUE but he had a lot huuge games this season and he made a progress

Like 42pts 15 rbs(vs. Clippers) and 23pts 14 rbs (vs. Wizards) and he CAN'T make 3 rebounds per game using Albys's roster, I mean that's bull

I mean what do you think how they got record 34 and 8?! Got lucky

No man, there's also
ROCKETS who are THE BEST team on the roster after CELTICS, and they're like 27 and 17, maaaaan HAWKS play better than ROCKETS, same thing with SUNS, this years #1 disappointment they're like 3rd overall
Afterall Albys's RR5 is THE BEST ROSTER OUT THERE, it
IS better than official, but need some improvements
Anywayz Albys keep trying and fix that

than you'll have the best roster out (GAMEPLAY vs. CPU is perfect, but player ratings need improvement CP3's overall is 95? 95?! he's the
one who deserves 102 overall the way he plays, next to Kobe, LB23 and D-Wade

and Granger deserves at least 92 overall

)

Overalls doesn´t represent them all by success to be honest - just see the clippers about in the middle of the league in rosters but record is really bad in real life - but I have to agree Bynum should be something around 83/84 but he has good potential so it´s okay to make him a bit weaker than default (86).
Biggest thing is that 3 pointers are very hard to hit even when your on perfect timing.
Sun Jan 25, 2009 11:39 am
yup you are right.

also, please increase dwight howard's rating a little bit?

he's 93 for now but im now having a very hard time to make spin moves in the lane.. and as far as i know he is currently one of the most dunk average in a game, but i cant even move past hilton armstrong on one on one
