.IFF controller graphics for patched NBA 2K9 - xBox and PS

I quickly made an .iff version that we can use while we wait for Vlizzle's awesome work. If something goes wrong, I'm not responsible for it. I won't give support for this. This is just for people like me who want to play an updated NBA 2K9 with in-game buttons that are similar to their controller's, without having to use a fixed .exe. Personally, I'd even use these if I didn't have an xBox controller because the original buttons are too difficult to interpret quickly.



Instructions:
1) Make sure you have the patched NBA 2K9
2) Download my gamedata.rar from http://rapidshare.com/files/185474061/gamedata.rar for the xBox version, or http://rapidshare.com/files/185692064/gamedata_PS3.rar for the Playstation version.
3) Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\nba 2k9 (or wherever you've installed NBA 2K9)
4) Make a backup of your gamedata.iff. (Rename it to gamedata.bak or something like that.)
5) Copy the gamedata.iff that's included in the rar to your installation folder.
6) Play the game.

If done correctly, you should see custom buttons that replace the B1 to B12 when using the direct pass button. I haven't tested them fully because I've got some real work to do first. They're configured the way I like them, if you want them differently then wait for Vlizzle or get Iffset from this forum and make/upload your own version. (For those who want to do some more work on this, you can find the original .psd I designed here: http://rapidshare.com/files/185477987/969565E4_DXT5.psd, you can find a free .dds converter for Photoshop on the nVidia site.)

Anyway, I had some time left from work so I made a Playstation version. It's a rush job as well, but you might enjoy it if you're used to playing with a Playstation controller. Instructions are the same as the xBox version.

I've played a couple of games by now and the icons work perfectly on my system. Don't expect too much, though. It's just the direct pass icons that are changed. The B1-B12 are still everywhere else, but I'll let Vlizzle and his friends solve that puzzle. It's just the direct pass icons that really needed change for me, and that's what this .iff mod does.

do you have screen shots of the mod? What do you mean about the b1 n b2? so its not the same as the tpf. file that also changes the icons for the plays and even in the trivia? Did i get this right?

I guess you get it right.

With B1 and B2 I'm referring to the original NBA 2K9 buttons. The grey ones with B1, B2, etc. written on them.
And this is not the same as the .tpf file. It's an actual mod, not a texmod tweak, which only changes the in-game buttons. Not the plays nor the trivia. Just wait for Vlizzle's next release for that.

When should you dl and install this?

• You hate the default direct pass buttons.
• You don't want or aren't able to use Texmod.

I'm not claiming that this does anything more than replacing the in-game direct pass buttons. It's a .iff workaround while we wait for Vlizzle's next release.
