Despite being surprised at first, I guess I can change my own tune and state that Brad does deserve to be there. He was the one who helped turn our team around and with him on the team, we have been playing really well. His 12 points, close to 8 rebounds and 4 assists a game (I htink those are his averages) don't jump out at you but he is solid all-around on the court.

That's right... we are over .500 and Durant has been a huge reason for it... 25 ppg makes him good for 5th or 6th in scoring.

Chapter 6
Russell Westbrook was the last to get off the team bus. He trudged along as the Seattle Stealth entered through the back of Arco Arena. It was game night for the Kings and Stealth; Seattle had to win this one. According to Coach Gary Payton, Seattle had been woeful and he would not tolerate any more losing. Everyone put their bags in their allocated lockers and started to put their gear on for the game. Westbrook was next to Durant.
“Ready for a big game tonight rookie?” Durant asked Westbrook.
Westbrook was indifferent, “Yeah.”
Durant leaned in to say softly to Westbrook, “Get me the ball as much as you can man. I’m feeling it tonight.”
Westbrook didn’t like the sound of it. As Durant slipped into his game shorts and left, Westbrook mumbled to himself, “Dick.”
Durant had walked over to high five one of his best friends on the team, Jeff Green. Green would be starting for Seattle again. He had the spot covered ever since Adam Morrison had been injured and even after Morrison had returned from injury. Green and Durant were joking and laughing loudly.
“Look at those two clowns,” Morrison told Brad Miller as he stared across the room at Green and Durant.
“Don’t worry about it man. Just prove that you belong in the starting five,” Miller said, as he tied his shoe laces.
“I don’t know what is worse,” Morrison complained, “Being on the bench or watching pricks like Durant become heroes.”
“It happens to the best of us,” Miller sympathized.
Gary Payton suddenly appeared at the entrance of the door, “It’s game time guys! Let’s go out there and kick some ass!”
The Stealth players all got up to walk outside and into the hallway. Durant waited for everyone to huddle around him. Everyone put their hands in the air and pointing to an imaginary spot on the ceiling.
“Who the man?” Durant shouted.
Half of the players were unenthusiastic with their reply while the rest of the players were evidently pumped, “You the man.”
Durant then shouted, “Who is going to win tonight?”
“We are!”
“Yeah baby! Let’s do this!” Durant shouted as he high fived anyone he could see on his way out to the court.
He grabbed a basketball from one of the ball boys and dribbled onto the court and straight to the hoop. Durant elevated and dunked; causing a raucous reaction from the pro-Sacramento crowd.
Westbrook sat on the bench with the clock winding down in the fourth quarter. Seattle had dominated proceedings in the last period and the home crowd was quickly emptying from their seats. Any chance of a comeback seemed impossible with the Stealth ahead by 20 with less than two minutes left in the game. Gary Payton called a timeout and as the Stealth players formed a huddle near the bench, Westbrook stayed out.
“Way to do it,” Payton patted Durant on the back as his players returned to the court after the timeout had ended.
Westbrook shook his head and continued to chew on his gum. Durant had been the team’s best player as he reached 41 points but he needed 31 shots to get there. No one should be taking more than 30 shots.
The Stealth ended up winning the game in Sacramento 94-68. They would then endure a three game home-stand against Denver, Portland, and Sacramento. The Stealth beat the Nuggets and Blazers but Sacramento got the better of them the second time round; just a week after they had last matched up. Durant was at his best while Westbrook was no slouch either. Then it was time to travel to Los Angeles where Durant did battle with the reigning MVP Kobe Bryant. Bryant was on fire as he continually held the whole Stealth team at bay.
“He is amazing,” Westbrook said to Jeff Green who nodded in agreement.
Bryant finished with 58 points as the Lakers pulled out a sizable win and Seattle were then straight off to face the Portland Trailblazers the next night. Durant was playing sensationally; albeit he was taking a lot of shots. Durant was pivotal in the close win over the Blazers with his three pointer with just a minute left breaking the hearts of the Blazers on the bench as well as silencing the fans in the stands. The Stealth won that affair by 7 points and the team filed into the Visitors’ change room. The majority of the media were huddled around where Durant was sitting with Adam Morrison who had a fine game from off the pine looking over in disappointment.
A beat writer had snuck up behind him and shot off a question, “Do you think you should be starting Adam?”
Morrison snorted, “I should be starting. I deserve to start. See me light up the scoreboard tonight?”
Meanwhile over at Durant’s locker, he was being quizzed by the throng of media around him, “KD, how do you feel about scoring 56 after just finding out that you made the All-Star team?”
Durant had a huge grin on his face, “It feels great. I am blessed that I just broke my career high and I am going to play in my first All-Star Game. I am playing great right now!”
“How do you feel about your team mate Brad Miller making the All-Star Game?”
Durant seemed to ignore that question; reacting to the question by turning his back on the direction from which it came from, “Any more questions?”
Morrison was just preparing to leave the team’s training facility after shooting around. It was the middle of All-Star Weekend and everyone was enjoying the break with their families but Morrison decided that he needed the extra practice. The month of games he didn’t played had made him feel lethargic on the court and he felt that his shooting rhythm was a bit off. He put his team shirt on and picked up his belongings in order to head towards the showers. Coach Payton was walking past in the corridor. Strange that Coach is in here today, Morrison thought to himself.
“Hey Coach!”
Payton stopped in his tracks and turned to see Morrison, “Hey. Why are you here?”
“Shooting around,” Morrison answered, “I wanted to ask you about whether I will be starting for the team again.”
Payton hesitated and stated, “I don’t tell my players my plans unless the whole team is around. Perhaps you should ask me in front of everyone else next time?”
Payton then left in a hurry as Morrison was left to brood over what he thought was an answer of no to his question.
Will Sit was working the phones with other GMs around the league. He could tell that his team was a little bit unsettled. Earlier in the day he had told Earl Watson, “I can’t lie to you Earl but be prepared because I might need to trade you to another team. Do you have any preferred destinations?”
Watson wasn’t too thrilled about it but took it professionally and rattled off a number of preferred homes.
“Hi Russell!” Sit smiled and shook the rookie’s hand.
Sit had decided that it was time to sort out his rookie point guard’s problems and so he made the time to visit him at his home on this Saturday evening.
“Tough luck about not making the Dunk Contest,” Sit said, “I had you as my favorite to win it.”
Sit walked in and sat in Westbrook’s lounge room, “I came to speak to you about what you want me to do about you.”
Westbrook sat down opposite Sit, “What do you mean?”
“You’re not happy here are you?”
Westbrook was twiddling his thumbs, “Yes and no.”
“More unhappy than happy,” Sit proposed.
Westbrook nodded slightly, “You could say that.”
Sit pouted his lips and clapped his hands together, “Ok, let me tell you what I am going to do!”

I wouldn't be surprised if the real Kevin Durant came over to your house with a knife in his hand. Haha, you make him out to be a supreme jackass! Great story as usual. I hope you trade KD instead of Westbrook. I'd to see him take that leadership role instead of him.

I am trying to achieve some comedic effect with Durant's 'implied' air-headedness. He is a douche isn't he... I'm sorry to the real KD if he is nothing like how I make him out to be... reminds me I should really insert a disclaimer at the end of each chapter: The previous piece of writing is in no way any indication or representation of any individual who may be portrayed - This is entirely fictional Or something along those lines.

Well, it was starting out with Payton loving Westbrook but then the focus started to shift onto Durant. Anyways Will Sit is making changes soon anyways.

Also some minor questions:
Martti: Estonia is not a 'school' I can give to you. Where do you want me to make you come from?
And to everyone, I have decided I will not post simmed scores, instead I will just write a paragraph about my team in my monthly recap. I have also simmed to the next season to see if it all works out as planned... it seems that everyone will be drafted in the first round but cannot guarantee minutes on computer teams so I appologise in advance. Whether this pans out over time, we shall find out!

PHOENIX (AP) – The 2009 All-Star Game was a three point shootout, slam dunk contest, and late game heroics mixed into one. In a game for the ages, the Eastern Conference All-Stars outlasted their Western Conference counterparts in a double overtime affair, which saw the score see-saw and the lead change numerous times. Twice, the Western All-Stars found themselves in trouble but were dragged back into winning contention by two certain Lakers stars. On numerous occasions the West failed to take advantage of perfect game-winning opportunities.
And it was third time lucky for the East when they finally built a lead and held onto it in the second overtime period.
Gilbert Arenas was incredible in leading the charge for the East with a game high 42 points that included a bagging of 7 three pointers. After hoisting the All-Star MVP trophy he waved his arms up in the air and pointed to the stands. “I told everyone that I was going to win an MVP this season,” Arenas told reporters, “All-Star MVP means that I was the best of the best. Now it’s time to win the regular season MVP and then the Finals MVP. This is my year.”
Arenas received plenty of help from his team mates with Lebron James adding 32 points from off the bench.
LA Lakers team mates Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were stars for the West. Bryant had a team high 36 points; 26 of them in the fourth quarter and two overtime periods. Gasol quietly racked up a close triple double of 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists; had the West won the game the Spaniard would have likely been named as MVP. Hometown hero Steve Nash was brilliant in the first half with 17 of his 22 points but failed to find his stroke in the second half. He added 9 assists to his tally as Chris Paul had a double double of 15 points and 11 assists.
The game began with a 14-4 run to the East before Nash’s entrance into the game saw him hit two straight triples. He continued with his hot shooting form with a long jumper and then another two from long range. The sudden scoring outburst saw the West jump to their first lead and they ended the first quarter on top at 40-36.
Both coaches; Byron Scott and Doc Rivers, had their teams playing an up-tempo style, encouraging plenty of three point attempts which also led to an electrifying display of dunks on the fast break. “This was one of the most fun All-Star games I’ve ever been involved in,” veteran forward Kevin Garnett stated, “Coach let us run and gun and we got the whole building pumped up with that.” Garnett was terrific with a flurry of dunks as he tore his way up to 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks.
The West and East had a lackluster second quarter with both teams failing to score at the rate at which they were scoring at in the first quarter. The East got off to a run in the second quarter behind Heat guard Dwyane Wade’s efforts before Paul and Gasol helped to bridge the gap. A Paul steal and triple knotted the scores up midway through the second. Both teams were neck and neck for the rest of the period.
The third quarter was the most entertaining in regards of the display of dunks. In particular, Wade and Dwight Howard got into it the most with several big numbers that made Saturday’s Dunk contest look poor. “Dwight really threw down some big ones,” James said, “And Wade wasn’t bad either. Did you see that one over Gasol he had? He stretched pretty far.” The teams traded baskets and hit triple figures by the end of the quarter.
The game, though, really began in the final period as both teams emptied their benches for the start of the quarter in order to have their best players on the court for the final half of the last quarter. Carmelo Anthony was the key player for the West in the fourth quarter, carrying the West with his hot shooting at the start of the quarter. With 18.5 seconds left and the West up by 3, Arenas sank a dagger of a trey tying up the game.
The West called a time out and Scott took his star PG Paul out of the match and inserted Nash. “I wanted Nash to hit the three in front of his crowd,” Scott said, “It felt right.” Unfortunately, Nash was not shooting as well as he did at the start of the game and his shot with 3 seconds left in the game fell short. Duncan grabbed the rebound but did not have the time or balance to put up a shot.
The first overtime period started off with Wade dunking in traffic and then All-Star debutant Kevin Durant returning the favor. Once again, the East would jump to a lead before Bryant was summoned back to the floor. With the East ahead by 7 points, Bryant was money for the West as he hit back to back jumpers and then a wide open three pointer to tie the game with a minute left. The crowd would lose control as Bryant stole the ball at halfway and threw the ball down hard on the fast break with 27.4 seconds remaining, putting the West up by 2. Wade would then hit a shot with 12 seconds remaining to tie the match once more and the West had a chance to win it. With plenty of time on the clock, Bryant received the ball on near the top of the arc. He tried to dribble around Lebron James and with time running out, shot a fade away. The shot was wide as the buzzer sounded and the game was sent into a second overtime.
The second overtime period did not see a comeback by the West. Allen Iverson was the spark to the victory, as he scored three times in a row, his third bucket was a dunk on the fast break to put the East ahead by 10 with 3 minutes left. Bryant came on once more in an attempt to pull the West back. His three pointer and short jumper were enough to get the West as close as 5 with 1:33 remaining but it was the closest they would get for the rest of the game as MVP Arenas hit a trey to push the East back up to an 8 point advantage.
Notes: Jose Calderon did not make an appearance due to sickness; he spent the night on the Eastern Conference bench but was back in the training room by halftime. He was back for the end of the game to see his team win… LeBron James was terrible from the charity stripe as he missed 10 freebies… Both teams combined for 92 assists; the West had 49 while the East had 43…

PHOENIX (AP) – The 2009 All-Star Game was a three point shootout, slam dunk contest, and late game heroics mixed into one. In a game for the ages, the Eastern Conference All-Stars outlasted their Western Conference counterparts in a double overtime affair, which saw the score see-saw and the lead change numerous times. Twice, the Western All-Stars found themselves in trouble but were dragged back into winning contention by two certain Lakers stars. On numerous occasions the West failed to take advantage of perfect game-winning opportunities.
And it was third time lucky for the East when they finally built a lead and held onto it in the second overtime period.
Gilbert Arenas was incredible in leading the charge for the East with a game high 42 points that included a bagging of 7 three pointers. After hoisting the All-Star MVP trophy he waved his arms up in the air and pointed to the stands. “I told everyone that I was going to win an MVP this season,” Arenas told reporters, “All-Star MVP means that I was the best of the best. Now it’s time to win the regular season MVP and then the Finals MVP. This is my year.”
Arenas received plenty of help from his team mates with Lebron James adding 32 points from off the bench.
LA Lakers team mates Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were stars for the West. Bryant had a team high 36 points; 26 of them in the fourth quarter and two overtime periods. Gasol quietly racked up a close triple double of 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists; had the West won the game the Spaniard would have likely been named as MVP. Hometown hero Steve Nash was brilliant in the first half with 17 of his 22 points but failed to find his stroke in the second half. He added 9 assists to his tally as Chris Paul had a double double of 15 points and 11 assists.
The game began with a 14-4 run to the East before Nash’s entrance into the game saw him hit two straight triples. He continued with his hot shooting form with a long jumper and then another two from long range. The sudden scoring outburst saw the West jump to their first lead and they ended the first quarter on top at 40-36.
Both coaches; Byron Scott and Doc Rivers, had their teams playing an up-tempo style, encouraging plenty of three point attempts which also led to an electrifying display of dunks on the fast break. “This was one of the most fun All-Star games I’ve ever been involved in,” veteran forward Kevin Garnett stated, “Coach let us run and gun and we got the whole building pumped up with that.” Garnett was terrific with a flurry of dunks as he tore his way up to 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks.
The West and East had a lackluster second quarter with both teams failing to score at the rate at which they were scoring at in the first quarter. The East got off to a run in the second quarter behind Heat guard Dwyane Wade’s efforts before Paul and Gasol helped to bridge the gap. A Paul steal and triple knotted the scores up midway through the second. Both teams were neck and neck for the rest of the period.
The third quarter was the most entertaining in regards of the display of dunks. In particular, Wade and Dwight Howard got into it the most with several big numbers that made Saturday’s Dunk contest look poor. “Dwight really threw down some big ones,” James said, “And Wade wasn’t bad either. Did you see that one over Gasol he had? He stretched pretty far.” The teams traded baskets and hit triple figures by the end of the quarter.
