[08] Flying High In The ATL-NBA Finals - Complete!

A collection of memorable stories from NBA Live's franchise and career modes.

Oh that sucks. It ended before it even started. Good luck fixing it, I'm now damn frightened that something will happen to my 360 :?

btw, I still don't know the final score of your first game. If you continue it sometimes, I think you should write the score somewhere, since you're not providing boxscores.

At least your Hawks are doing better than mine.

Okay, I added to score. Can't believe I forgot that. I'm not sure when this will return. I have the lower-right quadrant problem, which is a hardware problem, not covered by the warranty. Hopefully I can cause the red RROD soon and send it back.

I actually logged a couple game recaps down, so I'll post those soon just as a small consolation.

Lets hope so. I'm thinking about doing a brief sim or playoff dynasty in Live 2004 possibly. I'm not sure, but I'll have some kind of temporary side-project to hold you guys, and myself over until I get mine back.

Get a PS3. They aren't as good as 360's quite yet as far as games go, but in a couple years they will be, and they won't die after a year.

Glad to have another follower of my Pistons! Don't forget to comment there too to keep it alive. (Y)

Except Halo 3 is definitely makes the 360 worth the risk imo.

Cavaliers Hand Hawks First Loss

Atlanta, GA - Well, just because they beat the Bulls by 24 doesn't mean they would suddenly become an elite team. Thats not to say the Hawks are bad though, as drawing a conclusion from their second game would be irresponsible. Not to mention that even in a loss, the Hawks showed quite a bit of promise.

Atlanta hung with LeBron James and the more experienced Cavs for the first quarter. However, things fell apart for the Hawks in the second as Josh Smith picked up three quick fouls, trying to guard LeBron, while Cavs rookie Sly Vick (a.k.a. Boobie Gibson 2.0) started draining three's off the superstar's assists.

Down 15 at the half, the Hawks just get back in the game as the Cavs countered all of their runs. Josh Smith picked up a couple more fouls (and continued to underachieve offensively with just 9 points) and only Joe Johnson was doing well.

With eight minutes in the fourth, and Atlanta down by 18, coach Washburn took a timeout and gave his team a pep talk. That pep talk was pivotal, but despite the impressive 14-4 run, it was too little too late. LeBron hit his free throws, and the visiting Cavaliers ran off with the win, 98-92. Joe Johnson had 22 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and a career high 4 blocks in the losing effort.

"It always hurts to lose, but I was really proud of my guys tonight. We never gave up, and made those guys sweat," remarked coach Washburn on the loss. When fielded the question about Josh Smith's disappointing performances, he said, [i]"Its been two games. Give the guy some time, and I'm sure he'll find his swagger again. Its not east to play against LeBron."

Their next game will be yet another home game, this time against Chris Bosh and the New Jersey Nets. Will the Hawks rebound from this loss? Will Josh Smith break out of this funk? Time will tell. (The NBA: Where bad sportswriters happens)

JORDAN Player of the Game: LeBron James (27 Points, 8 Rebounds, 6 Assists)
MCDWYANE Shitass of the Game: Josh Smith (9 Points, 3 Rebounds, 3-7 FT, 6 Fouls)

CLE 20 31 23 24 98
ATL 19 17 24 32 92

Wha??? A recap? No, my 360 isn't back. I always jot down the results and highlights from the game, so I decided to post a long-winded recap for this game. Hope you enjoy. Gotta keep this thread alive for at least another 3 weeks!

Whoa. Made shit almost come outta my ass seeing an update! Unexcpected.
Anyway, tough loss. But it wasn't by that much.
Just wondering, but since you're the Hawks, how come the scores show CLE and CHI? :P

My bad, updated the scores. Also updated the archives.

It sucks my 360 died when it did, since I was planning to play a few games that weekend. Don't expect many more of these spontaneous updates.

Cheers for the support. :chug: :applaud:

Damn too bad you lost to the Cavs.. Does Cleveland have Boobie Gibson in your game though? Because in my dynasty, they don't have him anymore, nor do I know where he landed. Same with like Jose Calderon... Anyways a bit off topic there... If possible for future recaps, could you post the stats of other players, maybe not full box scores (since its hard to type it all out), but maybe like points, rebounds, and assists, and field goals made/attempted. That way we could get an even better feel for the game. For instance the star of the last game, Marvin Williams isn't mentioned at all in the recap and without box scores we have no idea how he did. Anyways just a suggestion, keep up the good work (Y)

Well, actually, I'm going to do monthly recaps a la The X with only one or two long winded recaps a month. (I can't be bothered to do 82 of those per season) I should have added something though, but I only had the stats of the 3 noteworthy players available.

If you go back to the season preview and free agents list, you'll see that he (along with Gordon, Billups and El Calderon) are all on the market.

Read before you post. It has been mentioned a few times in this thread that he was traded for Richard Jefferson.

+deidei+, Chris Bosh was traded to the Nets for Richard Jefferson either last season or during the offseason... too lazy to double- check, but you should re-read the beginning posts just so you can catch up on all the other transactions..

Don't let this die! My Xbox is back, and barring it fucking up again, this dynasty is being resurrected. Does it mean the Pistons are dead? No; though it will be a second priority (though I intend to update it tonight).

Update should be coming soon.

great to check, I'll keep an eye on your progress....after seeing the Hawks & the fact they might finally bring Aussie & CSKA star PF/C David Andersen over next season, I might start a Atlanta Hawks/Georgia Tech combo Association/legacy. Not really posted on forums, just for my own benefit. Maybe I'll start a thread when I get chance to update people on my own offline dynasties (I got Western Illinois Leatherneck at 1-7 record, but I've dropped half the games by under 5 points, some devastating losses, but I'm only 0-1 in conference play, so conference play is most important to me with this team :)

Two Things

1) How do you make a link to a post like oyu did in your archives...I want to use that in my dynasty, but idk how to link a post from a thread, if you get what I'm saying. lol

2) Thought me commenting might drive you to continue this

Skillmatic, Its working... for now. Just need to get around to playing some games.

The X, Thanks for checking! Hope to see you with a new dynasty. You are always my top inspiration.

Agent069, Thanks for checking and bumping this. Don't know when the next update will be, since I'm in the middle of GTA IV.
