Washington Wizards vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Another highlight-reel from Bryant,
scoring 19 ponits in 18 minutes of play
It was like an all-star game in October. Fans got a treat as they saw 2 teams scoring at will with less defensive pressure. It was a shootout with both teams shooting above 60% from the field. Lakers had 37 points in that quarter on 66% shooting while the Wizards shoots 60% for a 34 point s 1st quarter output.
In the next period, Lakers continues their hot shooting and even shots higher (12 of 17 for 70.6%) on the other hand, the law of average caught up with Wizards as they shoot a low 32% in the period. With this Lakers outscored Wizards 30 -14 to have 1 19 point lead.
KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF

With the game wide open, Lakers starters took the time to rest and give time to young players especially Bobbit and Brown. These two are the last free agents sign for in this pre-season and was fighting for the final roster spot for the Lakers. Wizards then took advantage of this and crawled back to game. They now only trailed by 8 points going to the final period.
Lakers still stayed with this their bench line-up and gave a good account of themselves as they managed to make it a double digit lead once again. Midway to this period the game was already decided. The Lakers even up they pre-season record at 4-4 and even got a final look at their bench players.
