A Race For The Final Spot
EL SEGUNDO, Calif, Oct 30 – With 3 days left before the start of the season, Lakers management were still torn between 2 players to fill up their last roster spot. Both showed great basketball on summer camp and in the pre-season. They don’t post impressive numbers but there are things they do that will not reflect in the stats sheet.
“T-Air is a good offensive player, had a good basketball senses and will give us a player who can play the pointguard position. Bobbit, on the hand, is natural shooter, can open up things for you and a very great defensive player”, Coach Rudy T said
“These to guys have the talent to make it to the big league. We want both of them to be in our team but we only have 1 spot left. He really had a hard time to choose between the two”, said GM Kupchak on a separate interview. He also added that they will make and announce their choice after their final scrimmage tomorrow.

One Final Test
EL SEGUNDO, Calif, Oct 31 – In their last practice before they open their 2004-05 season, the management announced that they still can’t decide who to pick between training camp invitees, Tierre Brown and Tony Bobbit.
"Why not let those to fight and kill each other and who remain alive, he get the final roster spot," said Atkins with a big smile. With that joke, the management got an idea and gave Brown and Bobbit one last test; they will play 1-on-1.
The player who first to score 11 points will win. Coach Rudy T then asked Chucky Atkins to be the referee.
"Winning this game will not guarantee that we will pick you but it will also be one of the many factors we will consider in choosing the final player," Coach Rudy said to the 2 competitors.
"Now let’s get it on!!!," Atkins shouted then blew a whistle.

nice update with the bobbit/brown situation.
If Im correct....Bobbit looks like he is injured, therefore even if he were to win that'd suck and you still have to go with Terrie

Lakers waive Bobbitt, Keep Brown
EL SEGUNDO, Calif, Nov 01 – The Los Angeles Lakers announced their final roster today and as expected, Tony Bobbitt was cut from team in their final roster adjustment before the regular season.
Tierre Brown will be added to the Lakers roster and serve the role of a back-up point guard.
Bobbitt, an undrafted rookie free agent from Cincinnati, averaged 3.4 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in five preseason games.
Also the Los Angeles Lakers put Slava Medvedenko, Devean George and Vlade Divac on the injured list.
Divac has a herniated disk in his lower back; George is recovering from offseason surgery on his left ankle, and Medvedenko has a sore right heel. All will miss a minimum of five games.
They also announced they were exercising a fourth-year contract option on forward Caron Butler, assuring he'll be with the team through the 2005-06 season, and declining the option for Rush, making him an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Butler, acquired last summer from Miami in the trade that sent Shaquille O'Neal to the Heat, has career averages of 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. He will earn $2.46 million next season.
Rush has a career average of 4.6 points. He averaged a career-high 6.4 points in 72 games last season. He would have earned $1.81 million next season had the Lakers picked up his contract option.

Los Angeles Lakers (0-0) To Open A New Era Against Denver Nuggets (0-0)
LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 02 --The new-look Lakers will try to defend its Western Conference title as they open up their 2004-05 season campaign against last year no.8 seed Denver.
This will feature two teams that have contrasting off-seasons. The Denver has an intact roster from last year with few players gone. But the big news was a guy name K-Mart. He was acquired by Nuggets from the Nets without giving up any players. On the other hand the Lakers was a complete different team, parading 9 new guys, 8 of them will be on the opening night rosters of Lakers. They will also miss 3 of the fab four from the last year star-studded Lakers team. Both Big Diesel and Glove were dealt in last summer while Mailman still contemplating a comeback or retirement.
It will also be marked as the first game of Coach Rudy T as a Lakers coach. "I hope my guys will execute what we have done through out the summer. I know they haven’t adjusted well to my system but as I said to them that we take it one day at a time”. I just don’t want to give any pressure to my guys, Coach Rudy T said.
Lakers fans had an eye to GM Kupchak, who had a very busy off-season. "We’ll I have a mixed feeling about it. I’m excited and a little bit of nervous, but now let's start a new era and dynasty", said GM Kupchak.
The Lakers will start the season with Divac, who signed in the off-season, on the injured list. Joining him will be Slava Medvedenko and Devean George, only players who have ties in Lakers 3 championship run.
Tonight's Key Matchup:
Kenyon Martin vs. Lamar Odom
This will be a great match-up featuring 2 talented forwards everyone will try to see how this 2 players will play on their new team.
Odom, main component of Shaq trade, is a versatile player. a natural small forward who can easily shift to power forward and can even play guards from time to time. He is a player who can post up or create his own shot. Can he play effectively at power forward in the west?
Martin, on the other hand, was more of a power player. He used his power and athletic ability to score points. Also he likes finishing fastbreak and mostly by a thunderous dunk. Can his teammate set him up well?
Probable Starters:
Denver Nuggets (Last Season Stats)
C-Marcus Camby- (12.6 PPG, 11.4 RPG)
PF-Kenyon Martin- (19.1 PPG, 11 RPG)
SF-Carmelo Anthony- (15.0 PPG, 8.3 RPG)
SG- Voshon Lenard- (17.0 PPG, 2.4 APG)
PG-Andre Miller- (15.4 PPG, 3.2 APG)
Los Angeles Lakers (Last Season Stats)

PF-Lamar Odom - (16.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG)
SF- Caron Butler - (9.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG)

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Lakers
Odom scored the first and last points
of the game
Lakers open the quarter by all Lakers starters scoring. The game was relatively close most of the way with 3 points the largest lead. Demmarr Johnson came from the bench to lead Denver with his 8 points while Bryant headed Lakers balance scoring with 5 points. Odom was a monster on board with 7 rebounds.
The game features few lead changes and a lot of deadlocks as both teams face very close competitive ballgame. The score was 41-40 with Lakers holding a slim 1-point lead.
KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Just as in the pre-season, Lakers always have a big 3rd quarter. This game was not different as they start the 2nd half with an 11-2 run. Bryant lead the way with his 10 points in that quarter as Odom was saddled with foul trouble. The Denver then found an opportunity to comeback in the ballgame and finished the quarter with a big 18- 4 run and now lead by 5 heading to the last period
Lakers continued to struggle and forced to play Odom even with 5 personal fouls. Odom didn’t disappoint his coach and teammate as he leads the Lakers for a comeback. Along with Bryant, Lakers was able to tie the ballgame and even had a chance to win by Bryant’s desperation 3.
In overtime, I took 2 minutes for both teams to score. Again the Denver jumped to a 6 point lead 110-104 from a follow-up dunk by K-mart. With 1 and ½ minute left, Bryant made a jumper and in the next possession, Odom made a 3-point play to make it a point game. Denver melt the clock but wasn’t able to score and Lakers got the ball with 9 seconds left. Bryant get the ball and pass it to Mihm down low but miss the lay-up, Odom got the ball and throw it to the basket and went it. Referee looked at the replay and said it was good and the baskets count, Lakers stole this one with a lucky buzzer-beater shot from Odom.
PLAYERS STATS
PLAYER OF THE GAME
--------------------------------------------------
Other Games Results
Sacramento Kings 104
Dallas Mavaricks 107
Nowitzki 37 pts, 13 rebs, 2 stls
Houston Rockets 91
Detroit Pistons 88
Yao 17 pts, 8 reb, 3 blks
-----------------------------------
Pls give some comments and suggestions.
Are the scores and stats look realistic???
Anything you want to see in recap or in my dyansty????
Hope to hear from you....

So far everything looks great the lindsey lohan pick is funny as hell, very realistic scoring. and very in depth. the one thing i would change is your key players at the half and the scores by quarter pics. those pics will eat up your bandwith like a mother. POG is cool to have in their. super great start though. maybe others think the key players at half is a good idea to have in their with the quarter by quarter stats but to save time and bandwith id leave em out.
