Hey guys,
I figured out, that you can't dribble anymore with 1.3 secs left for example. In real life it's enought time to catch the ball, make a dribble and make a clear Jump Shot. So i compared some Jump Shots from videos with the Shots in Live and here is the difference:
First the animation of the game is much slower than jumping in real life. So you need alot more time to do
Then in real life you do alot more Set Shots, in-game you always jump high in the sky to do your jump shot.
On the other hand, if the CPU has the ball sometimes he seems to be unable to catch the ball and take the shot. He takes the ball and wait the times up. And also the CPU does dumb Time-Outs and dumb Stop-The-Clock Fouls. He uses all his Time-Outs before the last shot. And when it comes to the last shot, he doesnt have any TO left. I can always pass to my best freethrow-shooter and the CPU starts doing Fouls.
The CPU never takes the decision to play TOUGH defense to get the ball and then doing the foul by trying to get a steal or forcing a turnover. And yes, the stop-the-clock algorithm sucks, because there's no HUG-THE-WORST-FT-SHOOTER, so you can always count on your best free-throw-shooter, letting Shaquille Oneal on the floor for Defense and Rebound Issues and the CPU has no chance with this Stop-the-Clock-strategy. It's the worst strategy the CPU can choose ingame. I always start to laugh, when the CPU starts doing fouls, cause i dont loose the game anymore. You want Tim Duncan out of the game? Put your best freethrow shooter on the position PF and Tim Duncan does all the stop-the-clock fouls. On the other hand you are getting easy Points.
So if the game is getting close to the end, the CPU has no chance. EA has to figure out a better algorithm for games with crunch time. The CPU is acting like a dumb machine when the game is getting close.
