Lebron does definitely deserve it in my opinion, but after Kobe for sure.

Maybe his contract is not yet over from previous games, and thats probably why EA chose Melo, D-Wade, and POSSIBLY Lebron, but if the contract is over, they ABSOLUTELY should put KB8 on the cover.

- Kobe played mroe than Lebron. Lebron has only played 2full season and is crrently in his 3rd. dumb kobe loving mother f***er!!!

- Big deal, Kobe is first in scoring, what bout assists? Was Carter best in the league when he was on 2004 cover? Was Melo the best player in 2005? Is Wade the best this season no.

- Again... SO what? It takes time and Kobe had SHAQ, lebron DID NOT!!!

- 81 points, so? Lebron is capable, but he doesn't want to hog and take a lot of shots. Kobe mgiht of scored 81, but thats like saying Wilt should be on teh cover because he scored 100. You want wilt on teh cover? No... so shut the f*** up you Kobe lover, and I bet you that you never liked Kobe before he scored 81, and to me you nothign but a bandwagon person.

ANDDDDDDDDDD....................

Yeah I want to see either Lebron or Bosh on the cover of 07. Probably end up being Lebron, but 2008: BOSH, unless he is on 07.

1. I have been a Laker fan for 8 years
2. I have liked Kobe ever since he got traded to the Lakers
I bet you that you never liked Kobe before he scored 81, and to me you nothign but a bandwagon person.
- PLEASE DO NOT SAY S*** THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW ABOUT.
3. DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY LEBRON DOES NOT TAKE AS MANY SHOTS AS KOBE? BECAUSE HIS TEAM CAN F***ING PLAY, AND THE LAKERS CANNOT. THE LAKERS GIVE UP THE BALL EVERY POSSESION, OR THEY EITHER TAKE A BAD SHOT. KOBE HAS TO SHOOT OR THEY WILL LOSE, YOU MORON.

Fine, if Kobe is still in a contract, then I guess Lebron for 07.

BTW, hipn, please learn to spell. It's role, not roll.

Hmmm apparently you haven't been following any of Potatos Dynasties for the last THREE years... All I can say is the ONE constant he's had in all his dynasties is one player...Kobe Bryant. I'm just going to interpret your little flame as a bit of a knee jerk comment as that's the best comeback you can think of without knowing who you're putting down.

Anyway, I like the Lakers and NOT a Kobe fan...Kobe won't be on the cover for a live series for quite some time if ever, he's tainted his image too much. And yes, Titles mean squat really if you're looking at history of the cover players and their respective titles they had at the time they were on the cover:

97: Mitch Richmond: Zero(at the time he got his first with the Lakers)
98: Hardaway: Zero
99: Antione Walker: Zero...
2000: Duncan: 1(the exception)
2001: Garnett: Zero
2002: Francis: Zero
2003: Kidd: Zero
2004: Carter: Zero
2005: Anthony: Zero
2006: Wade: Zero

Wow...I kind of see a pattern here! My opinion is that LeBron will be on the cover to continue the class of 2003...with perhaps Bosh the next year and then like people have been saying Darko in 2009 hahahahaha

but no way Lebron- who is he? Media pumped star!, If he won something in upcoming years he will deserve to be Cover boy but not next year for sure!

Thats like saying that carmelo didnt deserve being on the cover of 2005 because he still has lots to learn and hasnt lead his team to win a championship. Remember him and lebron are the same age

NBA 2000 had the worst cover known to mankind (Tim Duncan...not saying he sucks as a player, but cmon, as a coverboy he's too boring. There I said it. Duncan was, is, will be boring.) but it remains as one of the best NBA Lives ever. 2003 had Jason Kidd. It sucked. The cover doesn't matter.
Bored.

 Duncan isn't boring, he's just very fundamentally sound. Plus he has great foot work.

Are teh Hawks good? No, but they still share the ball. Thats why its called a team not a player. LAKERS, its a team, not a person.

But he was showing emotion on the cover. The cover design was nice and it was a good pic. Speaking of which, the Live 2000 logo was the best all time. That touch of yellow looked great.

On to my main reason for this post.

It doesn't matter who is 'deserving' to be on the cover. The point of the cover is to market the game. And who's the most marketable player in the league? LeBron. So by the qualifications that a game cover has, he is 'deserving.' Kobe still ain't best friends with the media thanks to his little retreat to Eagle (don't bring the topic to this) so it doesn't make sense to put him on a cover.

I think Antoine Walker's been the most unpopular cover player so far.

The main reason, above all others, is that he's been under contract with a different game developer for his own line of video games.
