Franchise trading tip

Postby Full Surface on Wed May 21, 2003 11:16 am

I've been using this trick for a long time now (in my Laker franchise). So let's say you want to trade Robert Horry for Ben Wallace. You simply change Horry's position to Center and most likely Detroit will accept your trade (as long as you put in a sorry player like Pargo as part of the trade for another sorry player from their team). They wouldn't accept my offer before I changed Horry to C. This tip increases the chance of you getting a trade to be accepted. Just wanted to share this with you all.

Yeah, it's been posted before, but there's no harm in letting newbies in on the secret. :) I allude to this in my Trading Guide over in the NBA Live 2003 section. If you have a player who can play both forward positions, but has more trade value at his secondary position, there's no harm in switching his positions around to make a trade more appealing. It's not the same as NBA Live 2001, when you could boost a point guard's ratings by making him a centre, using him in a trade, then changing his position back to point guard using the Toolkit or a DBF editor.
