Got nothing against being a Korver clone just expecting that he'll add some variety on the Bull's offense (as that video showed that he's a capable inside-outside scorer) which badly needing some scoring options...

it would be a welcome surprise if he can score in the post. i'm skeptical he can be creating his own shot in the nba altogether. as long as he's burying the 3pter and hitting shots off the pick and roll anywhere close to the rate he was doing it while at Creighton

And if they can't, what next?

I have high expectations on this McDermott kid, he's one of the rookies I look forward to. I thought he was undersold in the draft because of his lack of athleticism.

I think this kid's scoring instinct is amazing and could be put to use immediately. He's as big as Dunleavy and probably just as quick and strong so I don't think he'll have problem translating his college game to NBA as opposed to many doubts out there.

His competition is kinda stiff though for a rookie in a team that's expected to win a lot, not develop talent. Ronnie Brewer(?), Snell, and Dunleavy are his primary competitors. Butler will get his touches and minutes regardless, so will Augustin(6th man, ball handler) and Rose. Perhaps McDermott can fill in as a Taj's back up when needed for a small ball. I think he can do 13-21 minutes in his rookie season depending how much Tom Thib is willing to experiment with a rookie.

Thibs will play rookies as long as they're consistent... he gave Snell some alright minutes (even drawn some ISO plays for him in some games) in those earlier games after they traded Deng... it's just that Snell is too inconsistent so he re-inserted Butler at SG...

He's going to have to play. Bulls need his perimeter shooting. Garpax didn't trade up and take on Randolphs contact only to sit him.

In recent nba history, off the top of my head, only paul pierce comes to mind as a sf with just average athleticism that was a legit scorer.

If Carmelo cares more about winning than getting a max deal, Chicago is the best fit. With a healthy Rose, Noah & Anthony, the Bulls are in the ECF next season.

KC Johnson reported Rose spoke to Melo for 20 minutes

Like Gibson's, Rose's brief involvement carried significance given his reluctance to recruit players. This dislike stems from his quiet personality and an old-school mentality that current teammates never should be undermined.

Sources told the Tribune last week that Rose's camp had made clear to Anthony's camp that Rose would welcome an Anthony signing. Still, his speaking to Anthony for roughly 20 minutes inside the Bulls' locker room represented a departure for someone not comfortable in that role.
