Not sure if Toronto would part with him... maybe as part of a Bosh deal. :)

It doesn't sound like a bad deal. I don't know what the Lakers think of Farmar though so that would probably be in play.

that's not saying much there. compare Pargo to Harris and maybe Pargo comes out as the more traditional PG lol

anywho- Hinrich is the classic combo guard. he has good ball handling skills but isn't a pure PG. he can't create shots for himself and is average at best shooter so he's not a SG. he has decent athleticism & length to guard SG's but big guards give him problems. And while he is a willing defender, quick PG's like Tony Parker give him fits. to add to this, he's probably the worst clutch player in the NBA. seldom do i see him score late in the 4th qtr if the game is close. sure he'll make the 3pter when you're down by 10 but almost never have i seen him come through in the clutch. even with free throws.

i don't know. maybe Hinrich is a better player if he goes to a team like LA and doesn't have to live up to his contract. he's been playing better since Rose has basically taken over the team

Ya but LA don't need a PG who can create for himself. Someone who can just jump in and 'run' the offense. Hit some shots here and there... no matter how much I love Fisher, I gotta say anyone is better than him right now. Maybe Hinrich would be a great teammate and consistent backup PG (and learn to shoot?). I just think he's a better fit in the current Lakers side than Devin Harris would be. Harris is probably the better defender and a better scoring threat but Hinrich could come in and do the little things.

As far as coming in and being content to fill a smaller role, Hinrich would probably be a better option than Harris. Just expect the shortcomings that AG mentioned.

I think the Lakers are a bit unsure of his development. Before he got injured, they prob saw him as a great scorer off the bench and someone who could one day start. But the last two seasons, he has been fairly inconsistent. Both he and Sasha have played poorly last two seasons. Farmar has become expendable.

For sure. I guess I'm getting a bit excited because AMMO's expriing contract might add some much needed depth!

Escaped with a win thanks to Kobe's jumper. Hoepfully we have a more emphatic win against the Celtics when they go to STAPLES in a few weeks time.

I don't like the fact that their early 14 or 13 point lead quickly disappear.. I had to wake up 4:30 am just for this nail-biting game

I think letting go of Farmar would be a mistake, he's in somewhat of a slump that's all. I'd rather see Vujacic depart, that guy sucks ass to be honest. Bad shot selection, piss poor defense and the fact he thinks he's a good defender is even more annoying.

I'd also rather have Farmar opposed to Hinrich. He's in a slump. It'll pass.

Horrible shot selection by Bryant too, he played like a good supporting player against the Celtics, not a superstar. Forcing shots, bad passes...just not like Bryant. He saved the day with the last shot, but still...you'd expect him to read the defense better and adjust accordingly instead of settling for some of the shots he ended up taking.

Love Bynum, absolutely love the big man.

Adam Morrison and Sasha are dinfinitely the two players I see most expendable. Farmar is expendable depending on who we can get in return.

EDIT: An anticipating Kobe to pass Jerry West tonight. Number 1 All-time on the Lakers scoring list.

23 points, 13 free throw attempts and 14 field goal attempts in the first half. Somehow, I don't think he'll be waiting until the next game to achieve that honour.

Looks like it's going to be a close one whichever way it goes, but the record is Kobe's.

It's good that Kobe copped some flack for chucking up 30 shots last game. A team effort to top the Bobcats at home tonight. Great to see Lamar's effort off the bench. (Y)

Weird to see Kobe finish with 5 points on 2/12 shooting though, it's not often he finishes with a line like that.

Oh yeah. Kobe with only 5 points on 2/12 shooting in 36:50 minutes seems odd. But 0 turnovers and team won so I guess all is well for now. As a Wade's fan, I envy how Kobe can struggle and the team could still come out with a win like that.

Seems that Kobe was 'hobbling' so explains why he had just 5 points.

Plus: Good read about Jax surpassing Riley and also small part of his connection to Kobe at end of the article

trouble in paradise
Feb 4 F Pau Gasol's annoyance with how few chances he gets on offense is beginning to show. Kobe Bryant took 28 of the Lakers' 73 shots to become the Lakers' all-time scoring leader in Monday's loss in Memphis, after which, Gasol said: "Now we can get back to winning games

Yep. Fisher also said no player should be taking the certain amount of shots Kobe takes (I think it was like 28% or 38% of the shots in the Memphis game). Jax went on to say theres a fine line between being aggresive and selfish. Not sure if he said if Kobe crosses it.

I think it's good that the teammates tell him to pull his head in. He's been gunning a lot recently... maybe it was to get to the record so he got a 'free pass' which he shouldn't. The team needs Pau and Bynum involved!
