A lot of talks on Kobe's scoring streak and people are forgetting this is actually a Lakers team Now. The win over the Warriors convinced me that if the team is offered a chance to get an all-star PF/PG for Bynum, they really have to pull the trigger now.
Ronny has always shown how much heart he has in playing this game, and Kobe said that the two of them always practice together going one on one like 45 minutes before other players arrive. And in the 4th quarter in the last game he really has shown flashes of brilliance. If he can continue to improve and with the heart he has in the sport, he can be a serious force off the bench for the team.
And while he clearly doesn't deserves what he's getting paid right now, Kwame is a keeper for this team IMO. The one thing I'd rather have him on the team than Bynum is that Bynum is too soft, slow and uninterested in playing defense. Kwame basically is the defense of the team this year, you can see how big a difference he makes on the team's defense. He's tremendously strong and quick off his feet, having all the physical tools to be a outstanding big in today's league. He must get to learn what to do with the ball and rebound the ball better on the defensive end though.
The only untradable would still be Kobe, but the core players this team is going to build around should be: Kwame, Ronny, Odom, Luke and Kobe.
(Luke, while being too slow to defend, is the glue to the team's triangle offense.)
If they can, through trading the guys not on the above list, get a young all-star PF, and then a PG with good defense and knowing how to share the ball, the Lakers will look something like this
C: Kwame/ Ronny
PF: Through Trade/ Ronny/ Odom
SF: Odom/ Walton
SG: Kobe
PG: Through Trade
This will be a perfect team for the triangle offense and while not wasting Kobe's prime, wouldn't look too weak when Kobe gets old/ retired.
