:D Thanks. I just can't score 30 with Parker like I did for 2005. :x Anyway, it's better to win than having great stats. I knew that Ariza pic was good. Is the angle good too ? :)

Thanks, hope I'll win against the Pacers next time. It's time to revenge...

By the way guys, do you like the angle of the Parker pic while he's having contact with Marbury ? I tried to do something like that :
http://cache.gettyimages.com/comp/56451750.jpg?x=x&dasite=GettyImages&ef=2&ev=1&dareq=E5D71AC91672D7CB70E0B3F0120C4E9C781CF461BB6606AD

The problem is : the player doesn't open his mouth to say "Aww ref !! That hurts !"

PS : 2 preseason games left and the season will begin !! :D

Determined to win in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 25 (Ticker) -- San Antonio is back in Indianapolis to past over Indiana, who beat them during their last preseason game.

Tony Parker will try to beat Jamaal Tinsley and Tim Duncan against Jermaine O'Neal. It will also be the duel against two excellent defensive players, Bruce Bowen and Ron Artest. Ron Artest is way better than Bowen offensively. Will this be the key ?

Nazr Mohammed will again be absent for personal reasons. Will Argentinian center Oberto still have more minutes on the floor ? San Antonio has to win so the record will be 4-4.

For the Pacers, Jeff Foster, Scott Pollard, David Harrison and Jonathan Bender will be absent because of injuries.

Probable starters :

Indiana Pacers :

C - Jermaine O'Neal
PF - Austin Croshere
SF - Ron Artest
SG - Stephen Jackson
PG - Jamaal Tinsley

San Antonio Spurs :

C - Rasho Nesterovic
PF - Tim Duncan
SF - Bruce Bowen
SG - Manu Ginobili
PG - Tony Parker

San Antonio 98, Indiana 81
Spurs past Pacers this time

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 25 (Ticker) -- The Spurs were cruel tonight, beating the Pacers, who beat them during the preseason.

At the beginning the game was rather a defensive game, only 36 points were scored. The Spurs led 21 to 15 thanks to Duncan and Parker's great work offensively and defensively, Duncan scoring 4 points and Parker distributing 3 assists. Indiana was led by Stephen Jackson, with 5 points, O'Neal already grabbed 4 rebounds.

During the 2nd quarter, for San Antonio, Finley and Barry decided to play very well together. Barry scored 7 points, Finley 4 and dished 4 assists. A great way to start. O'Neal was sensational too, scoring 12 points and grabbing 6 rebounds during the 1st half. Tinsley dished 4 too during the 1st half. At the end, Indiana was leading 42-43.

In the 3rd quarter, the Parker-Duncan 1-2 Punch did a great job offensively. And overall, the Spurs were a lot better defensively, they managed to lead by 8 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th Jermaine O'Neal was incredible, scoring points and grabbing rebounds, but San Antonio's bench was great too, especially Fabricio Oberto, grabbing 11 rebounds, and having a double-double. Parker did also a good job on giving assists and scoring a bit to help the team. Ginobili showed some plays offensively, and few sneaky steals defensively, to finally get a big 17 points-win.

San Antonio introducing their new alternate jersey

Image

The San Antonio Spurs are happy to announce they will wear a new alternate jersey for the next years. The differences with the current jerseys are that the collars will be different, the "SAN ANTONIO SPURS" will be written on the shorts. The colours will be something a bit new, not completely black, but it will be a really dark grey going to black. The trims will be different, there will be a spot for the player's name. Some players commented about that new jersey.

Michael Finley : Everything is going really quickly, I have just arrived and a new jersey is introduced ! (laugh) Actually, I think that one looks pretty good. May this bring us luck !

Manu Ginobili : I think that jersey suits well with our team. It brings something different from the others. I can't wait to wear it.

Tim Duncan : I don't know if it'll disturb me during my shots... (laugh) but the design is great and hopefully we'll have a great season.

Bruce Bowen : Maybe I'll defend better with that jersey, who knows ? Maybe Gregg Popovich will decide to make us wear that jersey against scorers like Kobe Bryant or Tracy McGrady... to bring luck.

This jersey will be worn during the last preseason game, against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Last preseason game

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 27 (Ticker) -- The Spurs will face off against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers to win over them this time.

Tony Parker and the Spurs are on a 3-winning streak. Will they finally get a positive result at the end ?

Once again, Nazr Mohammed will be absent for personal reasons. Rookie Fabricio Oberto will surely have more time because of his last performance against the Pacers, which was great. San Antonio has to win so the record will be 5-4, after being catastrophic at the beginning. Finley will start at small forward.

The 76ers, coached by Maurice Cheeks, will play with their best players : Dalembert, Webber, Korver, Iguodala and finally at point guard, All-Star Allen Iverson.

Probable starters :

Philadephia 76ers :

C - Samuel Dalembert
PF - Chris Webber
SF - Kyle Korver
SG - Andre Iguodala
PG - Allen Iverson

San Antonio Spurs :

C - Rasho Nesterovic
PF - Tim Duncan
SF - Michael Finley
SG - Manu Ginobili
PG - Tony Parker

* : In bold the best players in the team.

Thanks for the support everyone ! Whoops my bad, of course jersey made by the great Cable Guy... I'll add it... :) I have to agree its not so alternate-ish but the jersey design and colours are great. :P

Philadelphia 96, San Antonio 91
Unlucky Spurs

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 28 (Ticker) -- San Antonio almost won this game but they weren't lucky at the end, or maybe the Sixers were.

It was a low-scoring 1st quarter, at the end the score was tied, 19 to 19. The 1st bucket of the game was an impressive alley-oop, Parker to Finley. (to be honest it was totally lucky, because I didn't want to do the alley-oop for him, but for Nesterovic...) Nesterovic was impressive, grabbing 6 rebounds. Finley scored 6 points and was again great offensively. Parker dished 3 assists for the Spurs. Allen Iverson scored 11 points of the 19 scored by the 76ers. The C-Webb/AI 1-2 Punch worked perfectly because Webber added 3 rebounds and 2 assists to his stats, leading both of these categories.

During the 2nd quarter, Bruce Bowen, coming from the bench, was hot, scoring 2 3 point shots, and few lay-ups. He helped a lot during this quarter but it wasn't enough to allow the Spurs to lead at the end. The Sixers were leading by 1, 44-43. Manu Ginobili reached the 10 points bar at the end of the 1st half.

In the 3rd quarter, San Antonio finally took the lead, thanks to Parker and Duncan, grabbing rebounds and giving assists. Manu Ginobili also scored points. Iverson scored 7 points during this quarter.

In the 4th Iverson was unstoppable. He scored 13 points during the 4th. Duncan's efforts weren't enough. Philaldelphia got the win on road, once again against the Spurs.

Preseason Recap

The San Antonio Spurs started their preseason with a game against the Miami Heat. It was actually a charity game for the Hurricane Katrina's victims. The Spurs were terrible in shootings, especially free-throw shooting. They lost at the end, 111-118.
Then came Iverson's 76ers. The Spurs got crushed because of one man. Steven Hunter. He scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Amazing performance for him. The Spurs lost 92-113 at the Wachovia Center. San Antonio's current record was 0-2.
Washington gave San Antonio their 3rd loss of the preseason. Brendan Haywood finished the game with 23pts, 11reb, 2ast, 3blk, 1stl, as he was this game's best player. San Antonio lost during a close game, 101-97, at the SBC Center.
For their 4th game, San Antonio faced the Houston Rockets, still at the SBC Center. Tracy McGrady was hot with 36 points but the player of the game was the French guard Tony Parker, scoring 17 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and having 10 assists. He also had 4 steals during the game as the Spurs past the Rockets 112-122. The Spurs had their first win during this preseason. Their record was after this game, 1-3.
The Spurs went at Indianapolis to face the solid Pacers team. While Reggie Miller retired, Ron Artest came back, still at a great level. Duncan was absent during this game. Veterans Michael Finley and Robert Horry scored 20 points each. But that wasn't sufficient to get the win over Indiana, as Artest scored 28pts, grabbed 10reb. The Pacers past the Spurs at the new-looking Conseco Fieldhouse 107-111. The record is now 1-4.
San Antonio faced against the Hornets for their 6th game of the preseason. The Spurs took the lead quickly to win over the Hornets, 106-73 at the Ford Center, in Oklahoma City. Rookie Chris Paul had a great performance, with 22pts and 7 assists. Manu Ginobili scored 19 for the defending champions. The record is 2-4.
This time again New York, they won, not easily, but rather easily and hardly. The duo Marbury-Crawford scored 59 points overall. But the Spurs' collectivity was impressive, with Duncan at 19 points and Parker at 18, and players coming from the bench scoring like Finley and Horry. The teamwork is San Antonio's best thing. 3-4.
Once again against Indiana, the Spurs want their revenge. They've got it. They beat the Pacers 98-81 thanks to Tim Duncan and Fabricio Oberto. The Argentinian had 10 points and 11 rebounds while Duncan had 16 points and 9 rebounds. Bowen scored 10 points. Solid performance by Jermaine O'Neal but not enough to past the Spurs again. 4-4.
The final game of the preseason was tough. The Sixers finally beat the Spurs, after a really close game. The Spurs, with their new alternate uniform led almost all the game, but their defense was poor during the last quarter, that's why Philadelphia took the lead and didn't lose it. Iverson was unstoppable with 31 points. The final record was 4 wins for 5 losses.

Interviews of some players about the preseason :

Tim Duncan : We did a pretty good preseason. We didn't lose really by too many points... but I know our team can be better than that. We have to be constant in every game, every minute on the floor. Even on the bench, you have to cheer for the team, to help it, even without being on the floor. We have to continue to work together, to improve again our teamwork. I think we are ready for the season now.

Tony Parker : We had some free-throw problems at the beginning of the preseason but we resolved them very quickly, we won 3 straight games before losing that last game, we were a bit unlucky, but you know, that's the game. Iverson was amazing and I, and my team mates couldn't stop him. The season will begin soon and we are impatients to start it.

Robert Horry : Us, together with Michael Finley and Nick Van Exel, are this team's support. We have to help the team while the regular members rest, or are injured. But for me, the real season begins during the play-offs. I do my best to help my team during the regular season too. We all hope to win another title this year.

The Preseason Top 10 :

10 - Parker avoids the Daddy's arm
9 Duncan blocks Jamison from behind
8 - T-Mac with the lay-up from the baseline
7 - Parker with the pass behind the back to Ginobili (not present in the photo)
6 - Iguodala show (2 of 3)
5 - Ginobili plays with the ball, behind the back and scores
4 - Ginobili dunks with 0.6 left
3 - Ariza with the dunk
2 - Marbury forces Parker to change his shot, but the French point guard scores anyway
1 - Alleyoop :
Finley with the pass
Duncan catches the ball

That's the end of the preseason... hope to be able to start the season soon... :)
