Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Compiling artwork (Beta Art Pack Inside)

Postby Andrew on Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:33 am

As I mentioned in the roster patch thread, I've managed to correct some issues with the rosters and am ready to start compiling the artwork. Anyone who's completed artwork for the project, please post download links here so I can start putting together the full package. :)

Beta Art Pack

Download the beta art pack here:
http://www.nba-live.com/andrew/nbalivep ... pc_art.zip

This pack has been made available so that any patchmakers who want to help out with the project can help out by converting the headshapes for use with 06. For those who just want to fix the problem with pink faces in the beta rosters in the meantime, this pack is also for you but please note it's a work in progress. The stable release of NBA Live PC will include all necessary art.

Thanks, I'll have to comb through them. I'll also compile a list of art still required.

Although I know Im posting this in the wrong section, I didn't know where to ask this....but on to the question.

Do you have any clue how long it will be when you release the actual final release of this project?

And the actual release, will it be just one big file which you just download then install it?

Or where you have to place all the files in different places?

Not really, it depends on when we can compile everything. The rosters are in pretty good shape but I'm in need of some other contributions. Further details ASAP.

For future reference, please do not post the same message in multiple threads; it's spamming. If you know something is against the rules or you're not supposed to post something somewhere, please don't. It's still against the rules, whether you acknowledge it or not. The other posts have been deleted.

The NBA Live PC project is for NBA Live 06, not NBA Live 2005.

Worth a try I guess, whether it ends up being included in the Project release or not.

Alright, I've gone through all the players and made sure that everyone is using a cyberface, however there are a few issues.

  1. First and foremost, hair.ebo files don't work so players with long hair or braids don't look quite right. In some cases, they don't look too bad but if we'd like to make this project as good as possible, we'll need some face makers to help out with that.
  2. Headbands don't work with headshape files from NBA Live 06 either (nor do goggles), so some work will need to be done with the headshape .ebo files as well otherwise the headband assignments won't show up in the game.

If there are some face patchers who would like to have a shot at fixing this, I can post an art pack so you can see the issues for yourself and work on the art accordingly. There are also some issues with other art; although all the art I'm using at the moment is compatible with 06, some of it isn't the right dimensions. For example, the updated team logos don't fit properly on all of the NBA Live 06 menus, particularly the Reorder Roster and View Player screens.

I've gone about as far as I can with what I can do with graphics, the rest of the way I'll need some more hands to help out. Please let me know if you're available and willing. :)

That's be awesome, thanks. (Y) Here's a compilation of the art I'm using so far, jerseys aren't included but I believe they're under control. For anyone else who wants to help out or use this beta art in the meantime, I've included a file that tells you where to extract the included archives. Most of you probably know already. ;)

If you're downloading this simply to use it with the beta roster, remember that this is not the finished product. The actual release will have a proper installation routine, jerseys, etc. This is more "work in progress" stuff. :)

You might want to check out some of the shoe patch tutorials in the Wiki and in the Patching sections of the Forum, this thread isn't really the place to ask about that.

Pretty much everything, though I think I've got most of the jerseys that have new designs. Would love to have your jerseys though. (Y)

Anyone else able to help out with converting the headshapes? That's one of the things that's holding up the project at the moment, we've had a lot of delays so far but I'd like to get something out ASAP so people can play with it during the 08/09 season and the offseason, as we hopefully wait for NBA Live 2010/'10 PC.

We've kind of got jerseys covered thanks and without knowing who the author is, we can't use them anyway. But I appreciate the offer. :)

We still need people who can lend a hand converting headshapes so they'll work properly with 06. If you can spare the time and have the ability, please let us know and feel free to download the beta art pack. Anyone who's currently wearing a headband or goggles should be the priority.

Nice timing. I have two days off. I guess since I can't convert 08 headbands to 06, I can convert the headshapes that don't work or find an 06 headband that works. Did you ever give me that list of players who needed it?

Sure did, for some reason I posted it in the Beta Roster thread instead of here. I'll just quote my previous post.

OK, here goes.

Basically, all but a few of the faces included in the beta pack are using 07 or 08 headshapes and can't use headbands, goggles or correct hair files, so ideally for customisation purposes we need to convert all of them. However, it's not a problem for every single player since not everyone wears a headband, goggles or has a custom hair file so the following list only contains players who are currently affected by the headshape issue.

Players marked with an * are currently free agents and lower priority

Headbands

Al Thornton
Bill Walker
Bobby Brown
Daniel Gibson
Dee Brown (ddbrown)
DJ Strawberry *
Donte Green
Elton Brown *
Hassan Adams *
JamesOn Curry *
Jared Dudley
Jamario Moon
James Singleton
Jeremy Richardson
Josh Boone
John Lucas *
JR Giddens
Julian Wright
James White *
Maurice Ager
Rajon Rondo
Renaldo Balkman
Sean Williams
Shannon Brown

Goggles

George Mikan

Hair

Adam Morrison
Luis Scola
Renaldo Balkman
Robin Lopez
Walter Herrmann
Cheikh Samb
Danilo Gallinari
Jared Dudley
Jermareo Davidson
Shannon Brown
