Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

Each game has its weak points but games are for fun. It is his problem if he just plays to win. It´s like playing some SNES game on the PC and using a gamepad with turbo buttons, then complaining that it is too easy.
Or you play some strategy game, enable the cheat console and complain that the game is too easy with unlimited gold or something. LOL
Back with Live 95 I won every game with a 130-40 margin but I played it over and over again.
Fjccommish: Why don´t you post some videos or upload a screenshot with your shot selection?

The game for me is actually pretty competitive. I'm not sure what he's talking about either. AI actually does a good job of double teaming when your player gets too hot. That's a bunch of BS. There is no way he can beat cpu with those sliders. We need to close this thread.

no i really want to see this. If what you see is real and all just post a you tube vid, if what you say is true you'll become legend but if you were just lying or your game is messed up wed know also, but i doubt well hear from this guy again.

Yeah, scoring inside, by center and pf is pretty easy.. especially if you know how to use plays... the most basic is pick n' roll... At PRO it is possible to have a 40+ or 50+ lead... if you have good D and good Offense.. I use Dallas vs Lakers... Full Court Man to Man with double team and pick n roll is my weapon + the 3pt shot... I manage to beat L.A with a very huge lead... I'm still experimenting with others plays. The only thing that i didn't agree with this fjccommish is that. He lowered the default setting and still scores whoever he wants at HOF.. FTW! 2k9 god!
ammmm... play the game, and let the game play you too... for fun... ^.^ that is why i'm playing 2k9... for fun, not for beating it

What's worse is I've completed three seasons (28 game or whatever the short number is) not playing but instead letting all of my games play CPU v. CPU. On the Lakers Kobe Bryant averaged 15 points a game for me, while Bynum averaged 28. The centers and PF's dominate. I traded Bynum for the 4th season and now have a rookie center rated about 75 overall. His inside scoring is D-, outside F, yet he still averages more points than Kobe.
I've tried changing playbooks, setting inside score and look to the post to 0, tried all sorts of slider sets. It doesn't matter. It's no more likely the superstar will get the ball, and inside scoring dominates so that's always the big men.

What do you think a 7'10" center with 99's for all ratings might do in the NBA? In 2K9, most of the games simmed, over three seasons he averages 11 PPG and 7 RPG. In a played game he'll score 30-50 and grab 10-20 rebounds.
Even the sim engine doesn't cooperate.

No wonder you say the game is too easy.

"No wonder you say the game is too easy."
Maybe you can't read. I created him in on a team for an association that is simmed. I don't play with this player. I wanted to see what kind of stats would come up for him.
11 PPG 7 RPG
The team made the playoffs so I let the first round games play CPU v CPU, he averaged 32 ppg with 17 RPG.
The expectation is that simmed games or played games, guys would play about the same.
In the played games he plays as expected. The team gets him the ball in the post, he scores. He controls the paint defensively.

I just went ahead and created a 99 guy and he averaged 30 ppg, 12 reb and 7 assists. He got the mvp, and defensive player of the year award. Maybe you shouldn't have put everything at 99, because some of them are negative ratings, and i'm sure the shot tendency and pass tendency effect each other. I made sure his foul tendency was 0, and his pass tendency was 50, while his shot tendency was at 99. I wonder if he would have averaged more points if his pass tendency was at 0.
A weird bug occurred, though. He led the league with 30 ppg, had the most points, played all 82 games, but when I viewed the league leaders it showed DNQ on most of his stats.

You might be onto something with that passing tendency. In sim games he averages 7 APG, but he only gets 1 or 2 during played games. I'm going to try adjusting that. It's still odd that he hardly passes the ball in cpu v cpu games.
I haven't seen the DNP issue.
