Menu problems

I need help. I have some problems with the menu and controls. When I start the game I get the screen "press start"...I cannot press start as my gamepad is set up properly at this moment. I had configured it many, many times before though and saved the configuration.

Ok, pressing start does not work but another button works. My sticks do not work afterwards and I have to remap them each time I start NK9. Sometimes, when I pause the game I have to use the keys instead of the gamepad. When I can use my gamepad again - finally - my sticks are not configured again.

Most of the time, controls work well but each new start of the game is annoying as I have to configure the controls again and again.

I have the same problem, what I normally do is enter a quick game, usually a blacktop one, and when I enter the game the controls go back to normal, so when I want I play the game if I don't feel like it I just select dunk school and when it loads I get out to the menu once again.
