Odd things: bug or ok?

Tue Nov 11, 2008 5:41 am

I noticed some odd things.

1) When I started the game today all rules were set to off although I had not changed them and my sliders and settings autosave.

2) I played against Orlando and Dwight Howard did a crossover behind the back when dribbling in the paint...like a guard.

3) Have you ever had such a crazy 3PT-attempt from way behind the line like I had? Derek Fisher brought the ball and took the shot right in the middle of a quarter and with almost 20 seconds on the shotclock.
I know that some Live had this bug when players stepped back like 2-3 meters and shot a fade away...but in 2K?

This game was strange anyway. Playmaker`s sliders are great but I switched to Pro and watched a cpu vs. cpu game. In the first minutes both teams only shot from three...each time three times or something like that. In the first quarter, LA had 17 attempts, 11 from downtown...same for the Knicks.

He has plenty of right to post about the game, and he hasn't been bashing it, just trying to learn it.

I guess maybe a retweaking of 3 point tendecies could help after the difficulty drop. I can tell you this, when I first played the Knicks, they did the same thing. Look at the coach profiles, their long range tendency is in the 80's I believe, which is way too high. It's hard to find a good balance of sliders, especially since all of the coach profiles need to be changed to provide more realistic ball movement and shot distribution. If one slider is too high, the cpu will do that more often. I hadn't seen many fallaways against the cpu unti I turned the slider up. It was higher then all the other sliders and all of a sudden they were shooting too many fallaways, making it to easy. So I had to lower it.

Actually I've experienced this maybe twice and in both of the times, the shot was made. It might be a bug wherein the system probably recognized the player shoot from a closer range but it's different from what is really displayed on the screen (am I making any sense?).

This does not appear often though so it's not really a big deal.

And don't sweat about the profanity-filled comment of the other guy, it's a new game and we're all trying to learn. :)

Your comments are somewhat harsh and perhaps, just a tad inapropriate.
